Really wanted to like this local spot that had high ratings, while service was quick and friendly the overall experience was average. It is a small diner serving your everyday classics. Walked in on a Saturday and there was plenty of seating available. Ordered the green monstah with eggs and a side of pancakes. For 17 bucks the green monstah felt overpriced for what was a veggie scramble with 3 pieces of avocado. The pancakes had a strong aftertaste of baking soda, so was not able to finish it. Service was really great and was the best part of the whole experience. Might be a good option for grab and go or if you are looking for basic diner fare.

Bacon, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel

I don't know where to begin but let's start with this little hole in the wall is delicious. My friend and I just came from an intense workout and we were looking to fuel up on a hearty breakfast. This was not only a good time but it was "Java Time." We ordered a great protein smoothie was tasty and my meal was a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich on an everything bagel. This meal was very satisfying and the customer service was exceptional. If you're in this area I highly recommend you check it out.

My family and I were spending our last day in Boston and were staying in nearby Woburn. Since our hotel did not offer complimentary breakfast, we decided to try Java Grind and Grill after reading up on Yelp. As soon as I walked in, the cafe felt very cozy with all the fall decor. There is a decent amount of seating and I was surprised by how busy it was for a Wednesday morning. I could tell that this was a local spot since many regulars stopped in during our meal. The owner was extremely friendly and sweet to us out-of-towners. There were a lot of menu options and tons of iced coffee flavors listed on the chalkboard. I ordered scrambled eggs with pancakes. I initially ordered plain pancakes but was asked if I wanted pumpkin pancakes since they were in season. I agreed and was very happy with my decision. The pancakes were fluffy and delicious - the perfect fall breakfast meal. They came with small sides of whipped cream, syrup, and a cinnamon sugar type of glaze. Portions were a good size and pricing was reasonable. I will definitely visit Java Grind and Grill when I am back in the Boston area.

Always looking for a good breakfast spot as we tend to find common inconsistencies in many. However this place didn't show any signs of such. The coffee was delicious, the smoothie was great and tasted fresh. The food came out fast, hot, and fresh. The staff was very attentive and knowledgeable. They listened to our requests and go everything how we ordered to perfection. We will be back to try some other menu items for sure, keep up the good work!

The corned beef is large chunks, not small diced pieces found in most commercial and canned hash. The potatoes, peppers, and onions gave a nice texture and flavor. I had it topped with two over medium eggs which were perfectly cooked. As I was eyeing the French toast, he gave me a single piece which included their fruit infused whipped cream and was really, really good! That might be my entree next time. My friend got the crepes and her face was doing happy expressions while she was eating. My new best friend Maria kept my coffee mug full-she visited the table frequently to make sure my mug never got low nor cold. She also took care to clean the table promptly as plates were finished. Now if my kids could learn that... oh wait, this is a diner review. The ambiance is cute and chic. There was easy access to accommodate wheel chairs and they have their menu clearly marked for gluten free available and vegan options (most of the menu). The menu is on the fancier side; they will prepare whatever someone wants (e.g. if someone just wants 2 eggs and bacon, they can easily do that). The location is on Main St. so parking is hit or miss. If you are nearby and want something good, this is a good option!

Early Harvest Diner in Wakefield, MA is a solid neighborhood breakfast spot with a…read moresmall-to-medium-sized dining room and a good amount of seating. They offer regular table seating, counter seats, and booths. The booths, however, are pretty uncomfortable--despite having a cushion, you immediately feel the wooden board underneath when you sit down, which takes away from the experience a bit. We went around 11:00 AM on a Saturday and were seated quickly with no wait, though I can imagine on a busier morning there could be a decent wait time given the diner's size. The menu has a good variety, but pricing can be a little confusing. Some menu prices don't always reflect the final cost due to fluctuating egg prices. There is a sticker noting this, but it's easy to miss and may not be obvious to customers. We ordered the steak and eggs, which came out to $20 and was cooked nicely to a true medium rare. The hash browns weren't overdone and had a great crunch on the outside. The pancake we tried was very fluffy, and their iced coffee was genuinely delicious. We also ordered the Double Double, which also cost $20 and offered a decent portion of food for the price, along with sausage links as a side. They do offer real maple syrup for waffles or pancakes, though it costs extra. One thing I found to be a flaw is that the maple syrup and ketchup on the table had no labels--personally, I like knowing the brand or ingredients of what I'm eating. The same went for the hot sauce they offered; it was served in an unlabeled glass bottle. It tasted very similar to Frank's RedHot and had the same consistency, but it would be nice to know for sure. The staff is kind and attentive when it comes to taking your order and delivering food, but once the plates hit the table, check-ins are minimal. If you need something, you may have to flag someone down. Parking isn't bad since it's located in a plaza, and there's additional parking in the back if the main lot fills up. Overall, Early Harvest Diner is a nice place to grab breakfast with your family or significant other without breaking the bank. The food quality is solid, but the vibe could benefit from a refresh to feel a bit more cozy and modern.
