This is a cute little coffee shop. The desserts are yummy and the drinks are tasty. I started off with a cold brew which was good. Definitely quenches the thirsty on a hot day. I also got a cinnamon roll and slice of apple pie. The Apple pie was really good! If I didn't get so full, I probably would've had another slice. If you haven't been to Madrid you need to! Finally made it myself and what a fun little spot to visit. It's about an hour outside of ABQ. I've gotten the lavender latte with oat milk and the chai with oat milk both delicious!! The lavender latte is pretty sweet so recommend getting it half sweet if you don't want it too sweet. Pasties I've gotten are the brownie and blueberry scone scrumptious! Sorry no pictures of drinks or pasties. The shop also has a kitchen things and cowboy hats! Barista's have been so kind and helpful each time I have been!! Services and fast and friendly! read more

Cute coffee shop in Madrid, we just stopped by for a snack/lunch on a hot day while walking around the area. We got blended mocha coffee-s and they were great, nicely made. The pastries looked invited, hard to decided, we went for cherry Danish and chocolate croissant, they were all fresh and delicious, really enjoyed them. They sell souvenirs as well, they also have a cute patio to enjoy your coffee. Nice customer service, the only complaint, the restroom is a portable one, so.... you get the idea. Another place recommended by friends for their breakfast burritos & coffee. It's a shop with old wooden floors a small coffee brewing area with a single barista. The burritos were good as advertised, the vanilla latte was good, not bitter or burnt tasting. None of the pastries in the display struck my fancy. There was a well used coffee grinder for grinding your newly purchased been as well as a couple of T-shirts, one of which was a Zia with red and green chilis as a yin-yang in the center - it's a NM thing. There were drink containers, tea towels and trivets. As well as Mexican Chocolate, tea & coffee. A nice stop on a cold morning for coffee & food. Just find a place on the patio and you're all set. Plus, if you need a place to stay locally they have a B&B of 1 bedroom . But I can't speak to that. read more

Prices that would make Starbucks blush! Charged an extra $.50 for ice in my drink! No sign or notification of any kind, just an additional $.50 on an already overpriced drink. On top of it, it tasted like coffee, not sure why, perhaps they did not clean whatever utensils they use to make my chai. So I paid $6.21 for a try that I didn't even like, plus of course a tip is expected. I would give it one more try before completely giving up. Also, the server had a big attitude, when I mentioned the chai was expensive, and I expressed disbelief over being charged $.50 extra for ice. read more

Awesome little coffee shop on the Turquoise Trail! We were recommended to stop by, but also decided to spend some more time in Madrid because of the many cars and ongoing festival we saw. I had the border mocha, which was awesome, and I love how their iced coffee uses actual coffee ice cubes! They have a pretty wise side-yard area with nice seating an wall of random signs... it's a great place to grab some coffee and also to just relax! read more

Stayed at the little bed & breakfast room on the way between Phoenix & Oklahoma City. So cute and well appointed! The patio is adorable and very comfortable. I love this little place! It has great coffee and a good selection of loose tea leaves too. They have a little shop in the back of it with wooden items such as exquisite cherry wood cutting board, cast iron cups, and much more. We got a kick out of their fridge magnet! Couldn't stop laughing on some of them. We could tell they have been carefully chosen and the owner must have a great sense of humor. This place also offer a cool little bed and breakfast above the coffee shop. We would like to stay their one of these days for a staycation. A cool spot. read more

I had an iced coffee and my girl got a cappuccino. The cappuccino was more like a latte and my iced coffee was good enough, it had coffee ice cubes which is novel. I'd get an iced coffee again but the espresso was not up to par with what I usually get in Albuquerque and I can brew better coffee at home. Not everybody is a coffee snob though right? The is essentially the second floor of the coffee shop in Madrid, Java Junction. The room is spacious, equipped with satellite TV and wireless Internet. There's a back porch that looks out on the hills surrounding the town. Minuses are few but significant. There is no shower, just a big tub, and during our stay fumes of raw sewage from a port-a-potty outside occasionally wafted on to the porch and into the bathroom when the wind was right (or wrong, depending on how you look at it). Having said that, the room is spacious, and beautiful without being touristy, i.e., you know you're in Madrid, an unincorporated village along the "Turquoise Trail," state highway 14 which meanders between Santa Fe and east Albuquerque. Big plus, there's a coffee-shop downstairs and the coffee is excellent and breakfast is included in your stay. Unfortunately, probably due to the currently-depressed economy, they denied my companion a second cup of coffee on the house, and when I had to make a change in plans suddenly they enforced the 48 hour cancellation policy even though I had stayed one of the two nights I reserved and I gave them all of the advance notice that I had. Also, I have to say, there's no reason for the person manning the coffee shop to be as surly as she was. It was impossible to get her to smile, even though I was as cooperative as I could be. But, These things aren't high on my list of values for places to stay, so I still think this place is worth a visit if you need a cozy room with good WiFi in Madrid. It's just unfortunate that in a town that relies entirely upon the tourist trade for it's economic base treats us like intruders and sources of irritation. But, if you're like me and refuse to hold that kind of petty short-sightedness against a B&B, you'll enjoy your stay here. They also reserve you a place to park your car, which can be quite a perk in Madrid, particularly during weekend days. The wifi Internet is fast and they paint a strong signal in the room. read more

OK coffee but the bagel was stale. Also, their costumer bathroom is a portable bathroom outside. That is fine, but it always drives me crazy when places treat their costumers like second class citzens. They clearly have a running bathroom inside. I drive all the way from Santa Fe just to get their FRAPPUCCINOS! Both chocolate & vanilla varieties are soooo gooood. Plus, you get to hang out with the local Madroids. That's a 5-star right there. Honorable mentions: They have wifi (cuz you cant get ANY RECEPTION in Madrid ANYWHERE) & while refrigerator magnets tend to be the most trite form of human communication ever contrived, every refrigerator magnet you WOULD even possibly want can be found here. Imagine a B&B with only one guest room, and that guestroom takes up the entire top floor of a historic two-story building. That's what this place is! Downstairs is a good coffee shop that closes in the late afternoon, so you have the property to yourself in the evening. Charming, rustic, and adorable. The room is actually more like a characterfully furnished studio apartment and includes a kitchen, vaulted ceilings, skylights, and a private balcony. Nancy was a very gracious host. In fact, when the next morning the water was cut off to the property through no fault of the owners, the owners on their own initiative immediately offered to credit the cost of the stay. One important note is that we had no cell service with either AT&T or T-Mobile in the town of Madrid or anywhere nearby. (The room has Wi-Fi, so don't worry about that.) So you need to make sure that you make arrangements to get the key in advance because the coffee shop closes in the afternoon, and you may not have a way to call the owner if you wait until you get to Madrid. We would certainly stay here again if we needed a place to stay in Madrid. read more

It's near impossible to get a 5 out of me. I stayed in Sandia Park for 10 days and each time I passed through Madrid, I stopped for a coffee (4 times). Each time was delicious and I had 3 different baristas make my coffee. Do yourself a favor and stop, you won't be disappointed! read more

Java Junction has really great coffee (the ice for the iced coffee is made with coffee!), the iced tea (black) was refreshing and delicious. They also have delicious green chile burritos (which they are happy to warm up for you) and the beef and bean chimichanga was a perfect snack. The barista was super sweet and awesome to us. To top it off they had really cute one of a kind clothing! They also have a nice selection of souvenir food items. Apparently, there is also a room on the second floor that you can rent weekly or nightly. There are only two other places I know of to stay in this awesome little town. You really should stop here if you are driving on this route. I will definitely be back. read more

We stopped in here while visiting Madrid. It's a cute little place. The lady behind the counter was very friendly. We both ordered a piece of pie and a drink: me a chai latte and my husband a strawberry smoothie. He loved the smoothie. My chai did need some work. They had soy milk, which was good. The chai wasn't mixed great and seemed to come from a powder vs. tea so I only had half of it. I had a piece of strawberry rhubarb pie and I was so full I didn't even bother with lunch. read more

Nestled in the little town of Madrid, New Mexico, population 149, artist's escape and old mining town, this little store is trying to be 5 things at once and has a little attitude to boot. There was definitely a bit of sass from the barista, but she was oh so fun and the store was a great mix of things, many with a definite point of view. I stopped in Madrid on the way from Santa Fe to Albuquerque. I had read a bit about its history, how it became a ghost town and how it got another life through hippies moving in. I very honestly didn't think much of Madrid when I got there, in my opinion it is not any different from other tourist traps and it really had nothing going for it, at least not in my option. The only place that stood out to me and that I liked was Java Junction: good coffee, excellent cheesecake, friendly lady behind the counter, cool T-shirts and other stuff. read more
