Its been 3 years since I have been here to Java Nail and Spa. Per the latest reviews things seem like there went for the better. I decided to go and give it a whirl and see how things are and I must say I am glad I did. Not sure why some are not getting the best treatment but I can say I sure did. I went in for a gel manicure on a Tuesday afternoon and I truly enjoyed my experience once again. My nail tech was Marieta and she couldn't have been better. She did a great job trimming, filing and polishing my nails. I would highly recommend Java. Sometimes you just have to go for yourself and see how wonderful the services are at Java. Did not listen to instructions about my eyebrows which are very full. I asked for a slight arch and she literally waxed into my entire eyebrow... making them thin and round. Maybe try not having customers lay on a rug for waxing services... it would be much better outcomes. read more

There was one small dog but he didn't bother anyone and was just curled up sleeping. The owner of this salon treats her employees poorly. My services were fine. I would never return here based on the way the owner treats her staff. She was screaming at them because the nail polishes were not in order. She brings her dogs to work, which I love. However, the treatment of her dogs compared to her staff is by far superior. I wish that I would have read the reviews before I walked through the doors. Asked for a pedi and gel mani. I was told to choose my color and sit in the pedi chair. I asked if there was a matching gel polish for my hands and was told to choose the color out of the book. I chose the color out of the book and asked again if there was matching polish to coordinate the mani/pedi. When it's time to polish, the toes are the color picked from the wall and doesn't match the color from the book. I choose 3 colors from the book to find a matching set with no luck. Note: the woman at the front desk/table instructed me to find the matching color myself. Selfcare Sunday down the drain. Don't waste your time or money. All nails are real except the close up of the one that looks wonky. They put a tip on and it's crazy how bad it is. And they broke a nail removing her polish. Disappointing. Done with Java nails. Went in for a pedicure. Had a young man gave a not so good scrub and leg massage. My most favorite part. I went to sit to dry and my nail rubbed on another. He fixed that. As I'm drying a woman comes over to give me a massage. She asked if I wanted the 10 min. massage which I Declined. She then tapped in the glass tip jar and informed me that's where the tips go for the free massage. She finishes and waits to see how much a put in the jar. So the guy never comes back to put clear polish or the oil they put on your nails when your done. I motion him him and then notice a divot in my pinky toe. So he now fixes that. I was afraid the polish would be on so thick it wouldn't dry. So not worth saving the 5 or 10 bucks to go there. Awful customer service. read more

I usually don't write reviews on here but I've received subpar service here one time too many. I go here because of convenience but that's over. I have been to this nail salon multiple times. On more than 3 occasions, my nail polish has peeled and chipped within a day while on vacation. The products they use on the nails must be cheap because I have not experienced this at other nail salons. They used an OPI polish but I'm not sure what kind of coat they are using for nails to chip so quickly. Super frustrating to pay for a pedicure and it only last 1 day! I am writing this review on behalf of a family member who had a horrible experience at Java Nail and Spa 201 Universal Drive North Haven. 1.Polish started to peel off within 24 hours. 2.When she went back and spoke with the owner they were rude and unconcerned over the shoddy work. Rather than redo the nails they just touched them up with another layer of polish. 3.They put her under the nail dryer and did not tell her how long to stay. No directions. Tried this place for a meni/pedi and I have to say, I was very pleased. They were fast but precise. It's a week later and my nails have not peeled at all yet. I enjoyed the foot/leg massage the girl gave me and they have the biggest selection of colors i've seen so far. The meni/pedi combo is $35. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars and not 5 is the fact that I was charged $38 instead of $35. When asked for the reason, the girl informed me that one of the nail polishes I chose is $3 extra. Well, it wasn't made clear to me that it was and nowhere in the signage does it say it's $35 unless you choose a higher-priced polish. I meant to check to see if there is an actual price on the polish selection but I forgot to do so before I left. The point is, even if there is a sign that those particular polishes are $3 extra, it's not a very clear sign and obviously easy to miss. I wonder what makes that color so special that they have to charge $3 extra. I've never seen this practice before. read more

I'm a little upset that I haven't been coming here instead of the place in the plaza near Target. This shop is newer, cleaner and they have a large selection of polishes that look like they haven't been thinned to oblivion (even though I still brought my own and she handed it back to me after she was done). It wasn't busy at all on a Sunday afternoon. I got the spa pedicure and the eyebrow wax. She did a great job on the eyebrow wax. The pedicure was enjoyable, but she could have went to town a little more on my heels. Granted, I hadn't had a pedicure in a couple of weeks, but for $30 I want to walk out of there with baby soft feet. All in all, I will definitely be switching over to this spot. read more

Worst experience ever!!! I went in for a gel manicure and ended up leaving with nothing more than bloody fingers. First my cuticles were pushed back dry with no cuticle cream or even a soak in warm water. As painful as that was she then proceeded to cut my cuticles so far back that 5 out of my 10 fingers were bleeding. Nails were severely misshaped and when she attempted to polish she had all over my finger tips, when I said something instead of using polish remover to remove she tried to file it off. The employees and the owner were very kind and telling me where to pick my colors and where to sit. we were having a great talk with the owner annie she was talking about her 2 sons its the best for chatting and for nails well i picked white i love it!!! the nails place is for all ages and genders i came with my daughter we had the best experience and i will come again!!
