Today was the 3rd time I had to wait for my scheduled appointment. The 1st time I had to wait the person I had the appropriate. With was doing someone else so they gave someone else who was not up to party.. the 2nd time they told me 20min. 45min later I got my pedicure. I went in to get a Gel Manicure and they were pretty busy. The nail tech did a fairly rushed job (didn't do much cuticle work, very short dry time between coats) and I was nervous walking out about how long it would last. The manicure started separating from my nail around cuticle after about 2 days and I had a full rip/chip after 5 days on my thumb. I went in to have it taken off because it looked worse to keep it on than leave it and they tried to charge me the full 10$ for a take-off even after I explained it was their fault I was having it taken off. I asked them if they were seriously going to charge me and said I thought it was fairly poor customer service - they cut it down to 5$. Still pretty annoyed that they had the audacity to charge me at all. This has been my normal nail salon and I've had really great experiences but also the rushed work is not that uncommon either. Save your money! I spent half of my pedicure telling the person doing my pedicure what to use on my feet to shape nails, clean nails, etc. I asked a question and the nail technician smiled, didn't speak English. She put her glasses on to paint my nails and was still smudging polish with the rest of her hand. Went to pay and the guy said no, declined. Went to atm within the shop, had to pay a fee, and was able to withdraw money net with no problem. Waste of one hour and money. read more

CAME FOR A MANICURE LEFT WITH A BACTERIAL INFECTION!!! I came here with my mom a few weeks ago because they were one of the few salons open on Sundays and we will not go back. My mom got a regular manicure and she ended up with a bacterial infection on one of her nails!!!! Also, I wanted an acrylic fill only to find out once she started that they only did (expensive) gel fills. I have been coming to Java for several years but every time I go, it is NOT consistent. Sometimes they rush sometimes its good all depends on who you end up with-The males are great-The younger girls not so much- They seem like they would rather be somewhere else!! Recently I took my daughter who is 22 and I asked for a 10 Mom chair massage after her pedi and manicure. They tried to put her in the massage chair while they were doing the manicure just to save time! I TOLD THEM ABSOLUTELY NOT! HOW UNCOMFORTABLE! Honestly did not have a great experience here. They charge $15 just to take dip nails off. And for a regular gel tip set it's $50. Not to mention everyone was rude in there and did not do a great job. My friends nails are destroyed. Definitely would not recommend to anyone. read more

I used to come here all of the time and loved it! But over time I feel like their service was declining. Eventually one day I was getting a mani and the girl came around and asked if I wanted a massage and I said sure. After a couple of minutes she said "do you want me to go longer? For free" it was pretty slow so she was probably bored so I said sure. When she finished she said "ok that will be $12". I thought maybe I misunderstood so even though I was pissed, I wasn't going to fight it and I would just pay. I get up to the register when my manicure is finished and the owner who was checking me out had the nerve to say to me "that's it? aren't you going to tip the girl who massaged you?" I've been coming here to get manicures for a few years now up until about the last 6-8 months the service has been great! No complaints. But recently it seems as if every time I come the service gets worse and worse. As of right now writing this review I've been sitting in a chair waiting for an hour for a gel manicure. It's not that it's busy here but it's just not a priority to be attentive or even great you when you walk in the door. No one has even come up to me apologizing about the wait they just walk past talk amongst each other and very rarely saying anything to the customers around me. I keep coming back hoping that the service would be different but it's just gotten worse each time. This place is awful. The people here are so rude and just out for money. I said I wanted a normal manicure and all the kept telling me to do was upgrade to gel which was 18 dollars more! And then I'm sitting there while she's doing my nails and she asks me if I just got my eyebrows done and I said yes. What a relaxing pedicure I just had!!! The salon is very clean and I was not at all worried about Covid

I have been going to Java nails for over 7 years. The staff is friendly and very courteous. I am impressed with the numerous colors to choose from, the prices,!and the cleanliness of the shop. I always get a jell manicure and the color lasts for several weeks, even after cleaning and gardening! I always make an appointment and usually get Annie who is very meticulous and efficient. Every customer coming in the door is greeted and immediately seated. I have never seen anyone wait very long. I have even seen Annie call people to come in to work because she does not want her customers to wait. I have had pedicures and my feet feel great afterward. The messsges are great!!! I recommend this salon to everyone and even give out gift certificates at Christmas to Java Nails. If you want to be really pampered this is the place to go. Kathy. read more

I Keep returning here for the convenience but last night was the last time. Went in for a plain mani and the woman who did it did an awful job, many times I asked her to please get all the old darker Polish off before painting the very light color i wanted. I don't think she could see very well bc it was all over my nails and she started to polish. I asked for a paid back massage for 10 min my total was $24, I gave a $5 tip and the man who did the massage came up to me and asked if the tip I left was correct. How rude? The nails were awful and I still left 20%. No one ever came to put on oil after drying. And woke up this morning and there are 3 chips. Won't be back after many visits attempting to like this place. Don't ever go there! They do awful job and charge way too much! Wish I could give less stars. What happened was I went in and asked for an acrylic fill they said they do not do acrylic but they do powder. I got the powder and asked for a French. Mark put the white nails on me and they looked really bad because my nails were already so short. It looked very gaudy even when he cut them really short. I told him I didn't like them, and he told me he could paint over them with a dark color. I didn't want a dark color because I wanted a French manicure. He took them off and put the clear nails on, and did a hand painted French. The nails he put on me are all crooked and filed terribly . On top of that he tried to charge me to take the gaudy white nails off. I ended up not having to pay for it once the manager came out. I am not satisfied with my nails at all and I still paid $50 for a hand painted French. I could understand if I chose to do the gel but I didn't. Terrible customer service. They're just trying to make a penny out of anyone walking trough the door. I will not be returning. read more

Pretty shitty nail salon. They did a "full gel manicure" in 20 minutes tops. Typically mine are between 40-60 minutes. Tools/brushes in container right next to me were visibly dirty, they had white polish or possibly even cuticle on them from the last customer. Cuticle work was next to nothing. They basically only used the drill, which I hate. They clipped cuticle after the polish was on so now there's a gap showing the nail. Polish was also uneven and didn't cover the tip, so I bet they will chip in only a few days. They also effed up and smudged my friends nails and are currently redoing the entire thing. They did a paraffin dip, which in New Hampshire usually isn't included in a mani, so that was probably the only thing I enjoyed. They also won't finish your whole mani, they'll switch around workers and make you wait in the middle of your service. Save your money, find another nail salon! read more

I just went to Java for a pedicure and gel color manicure. The shop is very clean and the staff are all super friendly. They have a great selection of gel color too. Like other reviewers mentioned, I wish the pedicure was a bit more involved in terms of getting the dead skin off (because my feet are less than delicate) but I'm happy I walked out with very nice looking hands and feet without totally breaking the bank ($55 + tip). I went for a pedicure- picked the "jelly pedicure" for $35 he scrubbed my feet for 3 seconds on each foot, barely rubbed my feet/ legs. The entire pedicure was barely 1/2 hr, when he was about to paint my toes I said you aren't going to scrub more??/ pumice whatever tool they use. He said no I should have gotten the callus remover instead. To me with ANY pedicure they should as a standard scrub your heels etc for longer than 3 seconds. I left spending over $45 with tax and tip and my feet were dry, barely creamed, rough, I was so disappointed. No one offered the complimentary massage either where I would have tipped. A friend and I went here. The place is absolutely beautiful but the service was sucky. The job was rushed and we both were handled roughly. The woman who did my nails cut my cuticles "ouch". What's worse is when it was time to dry there was NO massage. Maybe I am spoiled, but that is one of the best parts of the nail experience. Also after we finished drying we had to take all of the cotton and flip flops off ourselves and then the man directed us to the trash can from his seat. Poor customer service for sure. Pretty average salon. Wish they used Saran Wrap in pedicure tubs so it would be cleaner between customers. Received a pedicure and gel manicure. I thought pedicure was great, however gel manicure was less than standard. Polish is on my skin and looks like it was very rushed, I choose a light color and she said a third coat was not necessary. The lighting is dark in there and when I went into the sun I can tell I should of said yes third coat. I had a different person for my manicure and pedicure, and wish the pedicure lady did my manicure. Will not be returning, and plan on finding a more skilled place for gel manicures. read more

He did a great job with everything my only complaint is that he could've scrubbed the dead skin on my feet a little more! I have been to this salon many times. Generally, it is clean and acceptable for the reasonable prices. Today, I went for a manicure and pedicure. I sat in the pedicure chair for nearly an hour while an inexperienced male technician did the pedicure. Normally, I don't mind a little extra time in the chair, especially when the massagers are going. However, this was just brutal. It got to the point that when it was time for my manicure, I elected to skip it. Having had a rough experience, I was willing to chalk it up to a bad day and move on. However, approximately a half hour after I left, I noticed that the technician must have had nail polish remover on his fingertips because my brand new (less than 24 hours old), expensive, designer flip flops were completely stripped and dis colored from where his fingers had been. I went back to the salon within an hour of my visit and spoke with the manager in an effort to resolve the situation. I had the receipt from my sandal purchase and the delivery confirmation from the night before. Rather than offer some solution, she was rude and told me that her technician did nothing wrong and it must have been my sweaty feet. She then put her head back down, ignored me, and continued working on a client's nails. I stood there and pressed the issue, and then she told me to simply return the sandals to the manufacturer and blame it on them. After creating quite a scene, she finally agreed to reimburse me for the sandals. She took my sandals from me, threw them in the garbage, basically threw the money at me, and told me to "leave." I walked out of the salon with no shoes on! I can assure all readers, I will not be back and neither will any of my friends or family. read more

My hands and feet are pretty well beat up on a regular basis as I am a bakery manager and often working in a kitchen on my feet all day. Before going on vacation in August to Aruba I thought I'd treat myself to a mani/pedi and a friend recommended this place. I have to say I was pretty impressed with how well the younger gentlemen took care of me for just the basics. I didn't pay for anything extra and I felt like my hands and toes received excellent treatment and my polish looked great. The whole place was clean and the staff was attentive. I do plan to return here again next time I treat myself or for a special occasion especially given their fair prices. read more

My family and I been going to Java to for many years. I have always found it to be very clean and that they have a wide variety of colors. After being loyal to their business for a long time, the owners have continuously been extremely rude and money hungry! If they are busy, instead of having you wait they will just rush through and do a bad job. I just got a gel manicure that lasted only 10 minutes, she cut my cuticles dry, the nail polish is already peeling off, and they were filed crooked. My sister did not even have the opportunity to get her nails done, after seeing how poorly mine came out she decided not waste her money. Also, when they are asked to fix something it is a huge deal and they huff and puff! This is not the first time I have had an experience like this, but I have finally learned my lesson! Ok so this is not the place I usually go to for any services but I was thinking how hard can a lip wax be. Well let me tell you... I go in it's a nice place but lip waxes are $8. That's a little pricey for something a child could do but ok, I was in a rush so I needed something quick and convenient. So I got to the wax area, the lady is so rough, she's ripping the strips off my face so hard as if that much force is needed to wax anything. I can't imagine getting anything else waxed in that manner. Then she put so much wax on my face that it was spilling over onto my lip and proceeded to wax my actual lip - that was fun - So then I look in the mirror and there's all these little stray hair left, so I ask for the tweezers to get them myself. She has these terrible tweezers that can't grasp anything so I was just like forget it I'll take this L and move on. So I go to pay and they charge me tax even though I pay them in cash which is pretty greedy since these salons don't report services when they are paid in cash. So needless to say I would not step foot in this salon ever again. If you can't wax a lip correctly you can't do anything else as far as I am concerned. You've been warned. read more

Had a bad pedicure here with an inexperienced nail technician. The pedicure was the worst I've ever had and I've had many! I was leaving to go on a long overdue vacation and was looking forward to receiving a nice, relaxing pedicure. Well, unfortunately that wasn't the case. The pedicure started feeling very rushed even though the salon was not busy. Barely soaked my feet, no massage, very little lotion, spent no time on removing rough skin/calluses, not focused. Also she went too deep with cuticle cutting and I actually screamed out in pain. I am not over dramatic---2 cuts too deep and my large toe hurt! To top it off she put nail polish remover over the area and it burned---not good. Pulled the owner/manager over to discretely inform her how disappointed I was and she stated she would speak to the technician. I had already paid in full for the service. Probably not going back since the owner didn't offer any incentive to come back or have a redo even though I had been a repeat customer along with my daughters and had received very good service in the past. read more
