Wow, what a treat to find this place! We were in the town for the day for a baseball tournament and needed a caffeine pick-me-up. I was especially delighted to find they have a large selection of homemade syrups to choose from (usually what I try to find in a coffee shop). We were served by a sweet college student named Payton who was home for the summer. She was so kind, inviting and conversational and we left with a smile on our faces. My husband and I both had an iced coffee with the homemade syrups (he had vanilla and I had almond). So delicious!! We also purchased the maple coffee cake and Payton warmed it up for us. I've visited JAX several times. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's comfy and cozy. They've recently remodeled which added a library wall (books are $5 each) and a fake fireplace for ambiance.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The bathroom is clean and has a changing table.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] When we walked in, we were greeted by a really nice young woman who made great recommendations for food and drinks. She was so incredibly cordial! I ordered a no foam chai latte and maple coffee cake. My husband got a hot Americano and maple bacon oatmeal. My chai tasted wonderful and the temp was good. However the cup was light. It was 1/3 full with foam. I brought it back to the barista and asked her if she could remove the foam. She joyfully scraped it off but then I had a cup that was 2/3 full. I expected her to top it off with hot milk but she didn't offer and pushed the cup toward me. I'll say that Starbucks started charging for no foam and I don't mind. I'd rather pay a $0.25 to have a cup full than not. The food was luke warm. The maple coffee cake was delicious. We ended up splitting it because the oatmeal was overtaken by bacon that he couldn't really taste the maple. It was a great idea in theory, Will we be back? Yes, because it's locally owned and a small business. It's conveniently located next to our dog groomer. Jax is not my first go to though. There are two other small business coffee shops in Jasper that are just as good if not better when it comes to quality. read more

My first time here but I see many more visits in the future. [[HIGHLIGHT]]What hits you right off the bat is the very cozy and easy going seating area with a cool collection of old time decor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Then comes the friendly, engaging, knowledgeable and enthusiastic barista. What a delightful experience with her. She recommended her favorite. An iced Matcha Latte with milk and honey. That and a (brand new to the menu) home made pumpkin coffee cake with a maple glaze really hit the spot and made for an enjoyable and tasty experience. How do I know it's brand new you ask? Because the owner came out and actually asked for feed back on it. A nice selection of tasty bakery products, coffees, teas, hot or cold and some very cool store merchandise puts JAX Coffee Company at the top of my list for an awesome Java house. read more

Adorable coffee shop tucked in the back of the lot. Everything about our visit was top notch - the woman working (who is also the owner) was friendly and made perfect espresso drinks. Cute atmosphere, nice stop on our way to the mountains and they has a gluten free option, but the barista didn't make good drinks. It was apparent that she was struggling and each of our multiple drinks had to be modified to make them taste ok. My son did even want to drink his cocoa. read more

When I need a pick me up I head over to Jax Coffee. My favorite drink is the Lavender Vanilla Latte (hot). I am always impressed with a consistent latte. Today I was greeted by a decorative design in my latte...a welcomed surprise and treat that made my day. I also tried the coffee cake that beckoned me today. I have to say, if you want a sweet, moist cake, this one hits the spot.
