Went back to Jay's (of course!) and still delicious. I got the lamb korma, which I love- it's literally so tasty. And there's enough for me to take home for a meal the next day- it's so filling! We also usually get the vegetable pakoras and fight over them... so good. I'd like to try the gobi ones next time! The decor was fun and clean The food was alright, the mild/medium options were still very spicy for the vindaloo and tiki masala. The flavors were kind of one note and the deep layered flavors of Indian food I'm used to. The cauliflower we got stated the main ingredient is soy sauce but tastes like barbecue sauce (not a negative review just not for me) The service was not good. My grandmother and I were the only ones in the restaurant. The waiter purposely startled my grandmother and touched her shoulder twice (inappropriate). The waiter also came over and while I was eating added more of the chicken and sauce of my side dish to my main dish all over my rice. We had a great lunch experience at Jays! Restaurant was clean and quiet. Service was very friendly and attentive. We started with lamb samosas which were piping hot and nicely seasoned...served with some chutney. Chicken saag medium heat had nice depth of flavor and other chicken dish was days special so not sure of the name but it was a rich and buttery red sauce with nice heat...definitely the favorite! First thing I want to say is the food was great. The chicken tikka masala was flavorful albeit the chicken was a little dry. I got medium spice for this and it was pretty spot on. Got the cheese chili, also medium, which was again really good. The garlic naan was some of the best I've ever had. BUT, I paid $56 for two entrees and the naan, this was after tax/fees. The portions that I received were VERY small for the pricing. They used 1/2 quart containers for entrees with the paneer not even being full. I think that's ridiculous with each entree being $22 or so. I hope that the portions when dining in are a little different... but I likely won't give this place another try even tho I'm a 5 minute walk away from the place. It was our first time dining and we did takeout; the food was very good. My favorite entree so far is the Chicken Tandoori (ask for it boneless). The chicken was so juicy, tender, and flavorful. We also tried the vegetable biryani, paneer tikka, paneer vegetable masala, and the baingan bhartha-- all delicious. Jay's loses stars for their pricing and hidden charges. If you order online, the prices are significantly higher and definitely not worth it if you're doing take out. Just call, it's cheaper. Additionally, when we paid with a credit card, there was an additional 4% charge on our bill for doing so, which is a little outrageous. Because of these higher prices and hidden charges, we typically order Indian food from Ambrosia Zaika, also located in North Attleboro and has equally delicious food for better prices. The moron who packed the order sliced the top of the soup container IN HALF and then shoved it in with the rest of the order. When I picked the bag up over half the entire order slid out of the bottom of the broken soaked paper bag, all over the interior of my car. I am livid. I have never received good service here -- is that because I am a single women eating there or picking up food? I don't know. I just know that as I told the owner when I called to let them know what happened, I am never going back there. The food is not sufficiently good to make it worth the poor service and lack of simple decency. If I could give Jay's Indian Kitchen NO STARS I would. Shame on them. read more

I'm so glad I stumbled upon this lovely Indian restaurant. I absolutely love Indian food and have been to a number of different restaurants. It's a smaller restaurant with a bar that seats about 4-5 people. The energy from the staff makes you feel like you're right at home. Super friendly and attentive staff. I sat at the bar and ordered the lamb Saag. This is one of my favorite Indian dishes. They asked the level of spice I wanted and I said spicy. Everyone at the bar looked at me like I was crazy and after having opted for medium quickly learned why. Their level of spice is accurate. Spicy is SPICY. The medium was still a bit much for me and I can handle spice. It was still delicious and I made it through, but would stick with no additional spice. This will be my go to spot when I'm in the mood for Indian!!! Loved it. Can't wait to try the rest of the items on the menu. read more

I was excited when this place opened as I haven't really found a favorite Indian Restaurant in the area yet. My husband and I ordered takeout from them a couple of months ago and unfortunately, did not have a good experience picking up the food. The website quoted 50 minutes for pickup, which seemed a bit long but that was fine. We arrived on time to pick the food up. When I went inside, the owner was talking to the only customer in there and he told me the food would be another 15 minutes. He apologized and said he would bring it out to the car when it was ready. Over a half hour goes by and still no food. Eventually, my husband goes inside to ask about the food and it had been ready but the owner was still just talking to the only customer inside. He completely forgot to bring it out to us! The food was decent but no better than the other Indian restaurant we usually order from and the naan was too flat for my preference. The first time we ordered, we ordered the "staples" Chicken tikka masala, naan & samosas. The samosas were good, the naan was a little flat but tasty, the chicken tikka masala was fantastic! The next time I ordered the goat biryani and I loved it. Again the naan was flat and yummy & the samosas good. The service was excellent! Jay & his family are super nice and really seem to care about the NA community and are happy to be there. The reason for 4 stars? This place is quite good if you stick to just the entrées. My wife and I travel the country for work, which is how we ended up here in Mass., and Indian food is always a go to for us. My wife is also Indian, so when we aren't making it at home, our standards for restaurant Indian food are pretty high. We ordered delivery to our hotel, in which we had vegetable samosas, samosa chaat, butter chicken, lamb saagwala, roti, chili naan, garlic naan and gulab jamun. We also ordered the butter chicken and the saag extra spicy for $1 more. My wife said that the samosas were way too salty, which is a rather rare occurrence, but we have run into that issue a couple of times at some other restaurants. I tried them too and I agreed, there was so much salt on the shell of the samosa, I was licking it off of my lips after just one bite. Usually, samosas come with a couple different chutneys as well, but this just came with the tamarind chutney, which was really upsetting. Likewise, the chaat also only had tamarind sauce, no yogurt sauce or anything else, so it was just kind of dry and sad. These are hard passes for us for the future. Moving onto the main courses, the roti was okay, nothing really special, but definitely edible and a decent accompaniment to my saag. The naans, however, we're really disappointing. They had next to no rise in the dough. They weren't soft or fluffy in the slightest, they were made almost exactly like roti with chili and garlic. However, the reason why I'm giving this restaurant an extra star is because the saagwala and butter chicken were excellent, and that's the most important part of the meal. They had a lot of meat, the sauces were incredibly flavorful, and the extra spicy level definitely made the spice apparent. I would note that their extra spicy is more like a medium heat level, like it's the level that we expect when we order Indian food from any restaurant, which makes it annoying that you have to pay an extra $1 for seemingly no reason. Lastly, the gulab jamun was absolutely disgusting. It came with basically no syrup, the balls were pretty bland with a weird texture and the little dash of syrup they came with had no flavor of cardamom, rose water or saffron. Honestly, it was almost like they just poured plain simple syrup on pre-made, previously frozen dough. Overall, I would come here again but I would definitely order things differently. I first have to mention that for Indian food, this place is on the pricier side. Many of their curries start off at around $23-$24 on Uber Eats. Now, I've checked and it looks like they charge different amounts depending on what platform you use to order, which seems pretty weird and unfair. On top of that, they're charging an extra amount if you want things a normal spice level (for Indian) or if you want your naan buttered, which is the first time I've ever seen an Indian restaurant anywhere in the country charge extra for buttered naan, because that's usually a standard. If I came here again, I'd skip anything that's a bakery item, other than the roti. Definitely save your money on the naan and put it towards increasing the spice level since you have to pay for a normal amount of spice. The main entrées were quite good, but everything else was either really bad or mid at best and under no circumstances should you order the gulab jamun, it was that bad and that's my favorite type of Indian sweet. This meal left me feeling like the restaurant just unnecessarily nickel and dimed us for mostly subpar food that included fewer accoutrements than what is standard with Indian food anywhere you go in the US and the delicious mains just do not make up for that. read more

I was a fan of Jays old restaurant Apna Punjab in Rehoboth and was excited to hear he opened this restaurant right in my backyard! The decor is beautiful and the place is spotless. Jay is the perfect host and if you are new to Indian food or think you don't like it.....Jay will walk you through the menu and help you pick the perfect dish for your taste. The Ghobi Manchurian is without a doubt the best thing I have ever tasted but everything we had was incredibly fresh and flavorful. First off, the food was amazing. A little pricey, but for the rents in the area, I could see why the costs were high there. The quality of the ingredients was top-notch. My friend had never eaten Indian food before. The owner came out and talked with us for a couple of minutes. He asked us to put the menus down. He would choose the menu for us, and if we did not like the food, we were not to pay for it. We started with the crispy shrimp and a lovely sweet spicy and vinegary cauliflower appetizer. Then came the tikka masala over beautiful rice, and the fruit and nut filled naan for dessert. It was a brilliant meal for the two of us. I also left a healthy tip in cash. Just had a great dinner at Jay's Indian Kitchen! Jay was such a welcoming host, incredibly accommodating, and helpful to anyone not familiar with the menu. His interactions with everyone really made us feel like we were in his kitchen and a part of the family. We had chicken tikka masala and paneer korma. Super flavorful and well prepared. The somosas and naan were awesome, as were the delicious condiments which accompanied. The atmosphere is bright, modern, and energetic and the bar is stocked! I was so excited to try an indian restaurant that was closer to Attleboro than Providence. We got takeout and tried the Tarka Daal lentil dish, Baingan Bartha, garlic naan, mango lassi, and added raita and pickled vegetables on the side. While the baingan bartha was excellent and perfectly done, everything else by contrast was pretty terrible. The tarka daal was under seasoned, the naan was so thin and underwhelming, it was practically as thin as the minced garlic sprinkled on top of it. I buy indian yogurt regularly and love the creamy, tangy taste, but the lassi and raita were both borderline inedible they were so sour. I've never had raita taste that awful, and even the mango in the lassi barely covered the nasty aftertaste. The pickled vegetables were completely inedible they were so salty and overseasoned. For the price this was completely underwhelming. We didn't eat much and ended up throwing most of it away. I wouldn't go back, even for the shorter drive and the one dish we liked. Not worth the stomach ache afterward, either. read more

Awesome first time experience at Jays this evening! The crispy shrimp app was so good! Big juicy shrimp and delicious dipping sauce. Next up was the owners suggestion he called it Jays special that was a chicken dish with amazing spices! I got naan with garlic and spices on it that was out of this world!! He also listened to me and made my cosmo martini perfect! I'll have to bring g him a few martini glasses, that's the only thing missing. I'll be making this one of my monthly spots! It was fantastic!
