We had a wonderful experience at Monalessa's Indian Cuisine. The space is warm and welcoming with plenty of seating, and the staff were genuinely friendly and accommodating, which always makes a difference especially with kids. Very kid-friendly spot. We ordered the fried okra, which was surprisingly unique and absolutely delicious. Perfectly fried with a savory flavor and just a touch of sweetness definitely a standout. For mains, we had the butter chicken and chicken tikka masala. Both were creamy, rich, and full of flavor, and the white rice was cooked perfectly. We also tried the naan bread, including the onion naan, which was generously stuffed and packed with flavor. To drink, we had a mango lassi and fresh lemonade, both refreshing and a great pairing with the meal. Overall, we were really impressed and truly enjoyed our experience. I went to Monalessa's Kitchen and I was very happy with this experience. I love Indian food and could not wait to try the restaurant especially seeing it is close to where I live. The restaurant was clean and the staff was very nice. We shared an appetizer of Samosas, Onion Naan and then we split the Chicken Tikka Masala & Tandoori Chicken entrees to try a variety of items. Everything was very tasty but for me the entrees could have been a little more spicy. While the flavor was very good, the spicy level was very mild. Next time I will ask for hot and not medium like I do elsewhere. I enjoyed my leftover just as much the next day. I will definitely be going back when I want Indian food. read more

So glad a friend mentioned her recent experience dining at Monalessa. We love Indian food, so we decided to get lunch. To start, we shared the Cauliflower Manchurian. It was substantial enough for two, and was sweet and mildly spicy. For her meal, G ordered Dal Makhani... black lentils and kidney beans in a tomato-onion sauce. G ordered it hot and it was HOT! (but edible) I ordered Goan Salmon which was in a coconut curry. Loved it and had some garlic naan to dip in the curry gravy. Yum! read more

Great place for Desi food in Fall River! I stopped by for lunch and tried the Lamb Rogan Josh -- it was freshly prepared with authentic flavors and just the right level of spice. The naan was soft, fluffy, and delicious. Overall, I had a really good experience and I'm glad to have this spot in the area. My only gripe is that the prices are a bit on the higher side, especially for lunchtime. read more

My husband and I finally made it and enjoyed it thoroughly. We knew the food was going to be good based on the food at their other restaurant New York bagel across the street. The food was amazing we felt like we were in India. The service was very good, Monalessa and her husband Mohammed were very courteous and accommodating and the atmosphere of course was very serene. Tried this place based on their Yelp reviews. Wasn't disappointed. I got the lamb biryani. The spice level was perfect, very tasty with a generous amount of lamb. . My son got salmon tikka masala, which he loved and my wife got some naan and the tomato soup-m which she enjoyed. The only disappointment was the cauliflower appetizer. I came here for a late lunch recently with some friends and couldn't recommend this place more. We were served by a waiter and possibly the owner/manager, who was the sweetest guy ever! We had spiced chai (both hot and cold, delicious), mango lassi (also highly recommend) and an assortment of various dishes. Everything we had was fantastic - especially the garlic naan. My only gripe was that we ordered medium spicy for most things but nothing we had felt spicy really at all! Went with my partner and got the Samosas as an appetizer, which were absolutely delicious. I got the Chicken Biryani at medium-hot spice level and loved every bite of it, it's tangy and warm and spicy and just perfect. My partner got the Curry Chicken Special and asked for medium heat, and felt like she wants hotter next time, so if that gives you a reference for what spice level to expect I hope that helps. They will cater the spice level to whatever you ask for! Both meals were really juicy and flavorful with tender and moist chicken. We both got garlic naan with our entrees and it's some of the best naan I've had! I also tried the Lassi drink which I had never tried anywhere before but it was so delicious and was so smooth and silky, I'll definitely be getting that from now on too. Overall incredible service, the owner was quick to attend to us and also gave recommendations! Clean, cozy, well-decorated restaurant with great natural lighting from big windows. There's a okra dish called Bhinda masala. I think I might've had it at every single Indian restaurant in the Rhode Island Massachusetts Boston area hands-down this is the best one I've ever had. We have been waiting for Monalessa's to open! Happy to see the parking lot full and all the tables full! The chicken malai kebab, chicken tikka, barrah kebab and fish tikka were delicious and flavorful! Fresh and presented beautifully. You get a taste of each on the combination platter which I would highly recommend! The Khandari naan was fresh and had just the right mix of sweet and savory. Garlic naan also excellent! Great food the chicken tikka masala is the best I've had and they have great portion sizes. My boyfriend got the chicken tikka and was very suprised w the big portion size and thought it tasted great (his eyes litterly lit up). The staff is very personable and friendly. (Cross posted from somewhere that rhymes with shnoogle.) My heritage is Indian-adjacent so I've had plenty of Indian food, both home cooking and restaurants. I don't know what mitzvah I performed to deserve such a great place so near to me. We used to go to the BBQ joint that was at this location, and the decor was bare minimum. The new owners have spruced it up simply and tastefully. Our server was attentive and charming without being intrusive, and he was conscientious about checking allergens. He actually kept apologizing because their usual server wasn't there. We never would have thought we had anything but the A team. It's on the pricey side, but we brought home enough leftovers for at least two more meals. The bhindi masala (okra) and lamb saag were spot on. In some places a chicken yellow curry is almost an afterthought, but their chicken Chettinad had a surprisingly lovely balance of seasonings. If I hadn't been so stuffed, I probably would have gone through all the naan (warm & fluffy) and puri (comically inflated and perfect texture) just dunking them in that gravy. Despite having already eaten more than I should have, I ordered the rice pudding. Their version was relatively light (in a good way) and the flavors were subtle (also in a good way). This might throw you off if you're expecting the dense European version, but this would be great on a hot summer day. Speaking of which... if I ask nicely, could we get some kulfi when the weather warms up? I don't usually leave detailed reviews, but we really want this restaurant to flourish. I went here with my girlfriend looking for some authentic and spicy Indian food. Boy did they deliver! I had the Chicken Vindaloo and asked for it to be extra spicy. It was phenomenal and the first thing I said is that I would be back again. The server was on the ball and was attentive to our requests and made our interactions so enjoyable. Only complaint is location as I had never noticed the building and is tucked away in an unassuming building in Fall River. If you enjoy Indian food, this is a must! read more

We live right between Providence RI and Fall River in the boonies but love a good Indian meal from time to time. We were excited to learn of a new Indian restaurant in Fall River to try. We usually get take out from the popular Indian places in Providence that get really good reviews. I would say the food we got here was better than any of those PVD places. We ordered lamb korma that had fantastic flavors and very tender lamb. The chicken Makhani was rich and flavorful and the chicken was tender - oh that sauce -to die for!!. I asked if they could make a saag paneer as it was not on the menu and they had no problem making it, and it was also amazingly delicious. We ordered medium spice and definitely not too spicy. I would say their medium is more like a 4/10 on the spice scale. Their naan is thin and tasty and the rice came in to-go containers separately from the meal so it didn't get soggy. It is hard to find good Indian food in th US. We cook it often, using best ingredients, grind and roast spices, etc. Few restaurants really make the effort. This place was excellent, easily best in RI, southern MA. Portions are not large, and it is pricey for Fall River. But it is a lot of work to do it right and for a bit less money at some other places we have been in the region you end up disappointed. So get there while they are still on a roll. read more

This place is a gem! Quiet, clean and friendly service! Food is made to order so you wait a little bit but it is so worth it because it comes out so hot and so fresh. It's real authentic Indian food. Everything we had was cooked to perfection! The samosas were literally the best I have ever had! The dough was light and flaky unlike other ones I have tried that were too dense. We ordered the chicken tikka and the chicken curry special and both did not disappoint! So creamy and not over powered with spices. Everything was balanced perfectly. There was enough to bring home for dinner too because the portions are great. The garlic naan was so fresh and full of flavor. The bar itself is dramatic, a wall of bottles backed by bold red shelves. It all adds up to a room that feels like someone put real thought into every corner. We ordered the Ginger Turmeric Martini, which is made with Citron Vodka on the menu but we swapped in ISCO Gin; a substitution the bartender handled without hesitation. He mentioned he adds a tiny pinch of salt to some cocktails to brighten them up, a small detail, but the kind that tells you they actually think about what they're making. The drinks were served in cut crystal coupe glasses with a small edible flower floating on top, and they tasted as good as they looked. For food, we went with the Chili Cauliflower and the Dal Makhani. The cauliflower came out crispy in all the right ways, each floret holding its texture under a sticky, lightly sweet heat with a bit of tamarind that shines right through; tangy, a little smoky, deeply savory. The Dal Makhani was exceptional. The lentils were cooked with real intention, not reduced to mush but offering just a slight pop, and the overall flavor was rich and complex in a way that made it hard to put the naan down. Speaking of which, the garlic naan (sans cilantro, seeing as my partner has the gene where it tastes like soap) arrives charred and pillowy in equal measure, loaded with bits of fresh garlic. The service matched everything else. We were greeted warmly, and the staff genuinely seemed interested in getting to know us rather than just moving us through. That kind of rapport is rare and, when you find it, you notice. A spot we love to visit whenever we are in the area, and for good reason.

It's a local Indian restaurant located in pawtucket area. Parking lot available in the plaza. It was busy but we were able to sit down at the counter. Inside is small but has some seatings and bar available. We ordered mango lassi, pepper chicken tikka, garlic and cilantro naan, cauliflower 56, and chicken lababnar. Mango lassi is delicious as expected. Appetizers were excellent including tender pepper chicken tikka and flavorful cauliflower 56. Garlic and cilantro naan is chewy and tasty. Chicken lababnar was bit different than chicken tikka masala i'm used to. Its creamy and tomato base like tikka masala but didn't have the deep flavor that most tikka masala have. Service was good but my utensil was dirty. Waiter did quickly changed them for me though. Overall, food is good. Appetizers were excellent. Service is ok. Price is reasonable for Indian food. Not bad Indian restaurant in the area.

Unfortunately the fish and chips I had at David's Market in Fall River was not one of them. David's fish and chips was a recipe for disaster, not dinner. I walked in and saw a stack of fried and dried out fish, already prepared and wilting under the glare of a heat lamp. I wanted to give them the benefit of doubt so I ordered the fish and chips and they handed me the pieces that had been lingering under the heat lamp for an eternity. Fish and chips are generally considered a made-to-order dish. Preparing them ahead of time and holding them under heat lamps for hours can cause the fish to become dry and lose its flavor. Most restaurants usually prepare fish and chips fresh upon ordering, avoiding heat lamps in the process, but not Dave's Fish Market in Fall River. I guess they care more about quantity than the quality that they're feeding their customers. I swear, every other place I go to for fish and chips gets it right, they cook it fresh and don't leave it sitting under a heat lamp, slowly losing all its moisture and flavor like David's Fish Market does.
