Dr Joshi (or her staff) lost the urine sample that I gave to diagnose my illness. I do not understand how a medial practitioner can be so careless. This was a time sensitive test that was needed to be done and I cannot provide the sample again to any other practitioner. read more

My husband and I have been seeing Dr Joshi for the past 6 years. She's a fantastic doctor. In one of the previous yelper's comments about Dr Joshi is more interested in making money and has to pay rent; These are absolutely FALSE. Dr Joshi and her husband (who works at a highly reputable high tech firm in Silicon VAlley) OWN their home in Fremont where they reside. She doesn't do this job to make money. In fact, back when she was in India, she was already very famous, popular, and well-established doctor. As with any doctor, you have to ask the right questions to get the right answers. I've never had a problem getting any lab results from her or her staff. Lupe (front desk) is the best gal there. The rest of them come and go with a little time. I find Dr Joshi very honest and truthful, competent and respectful. She does care, but you have to open up to her before she CAN care for you. The more you share with her, the more she'll tell you. In fact, I even ask her personal diet questions. I ask her what I can do [whether its exercise, changing what I eat, what to eat, etc] to improve my health as to not have to take prescription medicine? Is there anything else besides taking medicine that I can do to change? She always has useful and practial tips for me. As with anything, practice what you preach. If you don't use the practical tips, you'll never know they work. Here's a story: One day, I go in for my flu shot. I get it. Then, out of the blue, I asked her for the prescription for "bloating". I told her I had seen a commercial for it and that I wanted to shrink my waist. She asked me what I had been eating and drinking for the past week. "Tell me day by day what you're intake is and what proportions are you consuming"...I told her coffee, tea, soda pop, fast food, fruits, meats, veggies, ice cream, cookies, etc.....She told me to limit my caffeinated beverages to no more than 3 per day. she told me to "eliminate all carbonated beverages for 3 weeks". She told me to avoid fried foods and sweets.----I obliged; I did. I lost 2 inches in the waist in one week AND I'm not bloated.....For all you negative thinkers out there; think again. She's a great doctor, and she can provide you some good insight. Give her a chance. I did. I have no regrets. I have also referred at least 6 patients to her; NONE of them have been disappointed. Jayashree Joshi has been my primary physican for six years. In that time she has been easy to work with at all times. Even when I was unemployed for a year and needed a doctors care she discounted the visit over 50% to help the needy which was me at the time. I found her to be very ethical, honest and caring at all times. She appears to be very knowledgeable in her field and over the course of 3-4 critical issues she never misdiagnosed the problem. Like the best family doctor, remembers history, tells you what is important and what is not.. doesn't take decision for you, you get to decide. Very easy to schedule appointments and follow ups. If someone has a problem with her services, I think they may actually have a problem with their insurance. It's a no-BS clinic unlike the bigger names where they offer you so many features (reminders, text messages, emails, reviews, etc.) but there is no personal care. I visited Dr Jayashree after weeks of stomach ache. She asked a lot of questions and made sure she understood me my issues. She suggested some lifestyle changes and gave a follow up medicine. I agree with Philly B, the lady at the counter, infact one of the ladies, is quite rude to talk to , so our initial experience was bad. However upon meeting Dr. Joshi, we found her nice and friendly. What matters the most is her diagnosis, which was great for my husband and he was up and running 1.5 days meds! Thank you Dr. Joshi! Also for accommodating us with just an hr notice, since it was an emergency. So, I am sure gonna go back to her.. but would want to leave a feedback for that billing lady for sure :) read more

My experience with Dr Joshi is not good though doctor herself is good and nice. Her staffs are not good at all. They are very rude and arrogant. Me and my husband recently had blood tests. For me they told no need to visit doctor. After asking for the prescription for my thyroid medication, they simply told "call your pharmacy and ask for your refill". Without prescription I don't think anyone will sell me prescription drug! But they just insisted the above. For my husband, they didnot even want to share his blood reports and asked for doctor visit. Does not a patient have rights to see his/her own blood reports? With these experiences sometimes we feel not to visit the doctor anymore. But we are not very sure of other good doctor nearby. read more

Dr. Joshi has been my family doctor for over five years. She is very professional, down to earth, and always willing to listen to the patients. She also does not prescribe med when I could recover myself. She encourages me to keep a healthy life style ( so I don't get sick and go to see her). She keeps very good record of all the vaccines I've gotten, and all the major med she has prescribed to me. I also like her staff. So far, they have not made mistakes with billing, my lab reports..... They are also friendly. They always call me to tell me the lab results, rather than asking me to call them to get the result. I've been seeing Dr. Joshi for years. She has always been a professional with a very caring approach. With reference to the review by jj K. in Milpitas maybe you should get educated on the guidelines physicians have to follow these days. HIPAA, a health care privacy act PROHIBITS doctors from giving out information via the phone because they have no way of knowing who they are speaking with. And the part about her doing a lot of tests...jjK you are an idiot!! Who this day in age would not want a doctor to consider all possibilities. Let me guess, you would be the first to sue her or anyone else if something was missed!!! jjK go to a drive thru doctor, there are many of them in the bay area. Everyone else who wants a doctor that will listen to you adn take all necessary precautions when treating you, Dr. Joshi is the way to go. I have been a patient of Dr.J for at least 10years when she had her practice in Castro Valley. I now travel to Milpitas as i have not yet found a dr. who is very approachable and easy to talk to. Her staff is friendly and efficient. I can usually call 3 days in advance and get right in. The only recomendation I would make is for the staff to ask "what is the purpose of the visit when making the appt" so that the patient can fast (if need be) for the appt. I recommend her to all my friends and family...Dr J...move back to castro Valley : )! read more

The negative review in this post is an incorrect observation or very situational. I could write everything exactly opposite of that review. Dr Joshi is a very caring, thorough and calm person. Rarely I meet a doctor whom I can ask stupid questions and s/he would tolerate that - With Dr Joshi I feel no issues in asking millions of questions and I always get logical replies. Her openness to alternative approach to an issue is very welcome. Btw, it is very hard to differentiate if a test is being done for money or for being thorough. It also borderlines when a test is not done was a "good judgment without risk" or "stupidity to ignore a serious case". No doctor can be perfect on that scale. But I have seen doctors exposing me to 750 times (x-ray) stronger radiation by doing CT-scans twice (one with and other without contrast) compared to her who took the approach of MRI (absolutely no radiation). I can relate more to other reviews who say "I miss her". She is just the right kind of PCP you can get. When it comes to complications she can help you identify and refer to "good specialist". Be careful! The clinic were not honest or clear about the cost. Took annual exam in July, which is covered by all insurance. Dr Joshi ordered services from lab and told me all are covered by my insurance. However, it turns out that those services are not preventive so they are not covered by insurance. The Lab keep sending me bills. I asked Joshi and she explained that those are usually covered but not 100% sure. Do not recommend at all. read more

I am surprised to see a 4 star for Dr.Joshi. I am seeing Dr.Joshi since Nov.2013, she has been monitoring my thyroid levels. Dr.Joshi was very friendly and sweet when I saw her for the first time, but in the later visits I feel she doesnt listen to my concerns. For any question asked she says "I am 50+ and I also have these health issues". As a doctor I feel she needs to address patients concerns rather ignore. And regarding the office staff omg, they are horrible, they dont know how to email your results, how to fax, it always takes couple of phone calls to get any work done from the staff. The one star i have given is purely for picking up my call and saying that I can come in for a walk-in checkup for an emergency. I had stitches and was advised to get a physician look at it in a couple of days. When trying to get an appointment close to home, no doctor was available / accepting new patients and hence i had to go here. I had stitches on one leg and some wounds on the other. The doctor took me in 2 hours after I arrived and didnt even look/open the main wound that had stitches. She saw the other and recommended tablets. She didnt even give me the prescription for it and when asked again at the receptionist again, it was refused. I had some of those pills at home and my course could not get completed due to missing prescriptions. Due to this I got swelling again and it took me almost 2 more weeks to get normal. I will not recommend this doctor to anyone since she cares about her time and not the patients care. She lightly dressed the small wound and charged me 200 for 10 mins of not so helpful advise. read more

I found Dr. Joshi knowledgable and her prescription worked well. Though she was fully booked she accommodated our requested for the same day appointment. As ours was out of packet expense, Dr. Joshi's staff provided the documentation that is required for the insurance reimbursement. I would definitely visit Dr. Joshi again if I had to. read more

I was on vacation with my family and fell ill. Luckily, Dr. Joshi's office was near our hotel in Milpitas. I didn't have a problem getting an appointment that morning because they squeezed me in. I waited approximately 20 minutes and was able to see her, get diagnosed, and was on my merry way within an hour or so. My experience was positive, unlike some of the other reviewers. Dr. Joshi is great doctor! I have been with her six years and trust her with my life. She is very knowledgable and has always diagnosed me correctly. She will spend all the time I need answering all my question and concerns. I never had any problems scheduling an appt, even if its a last minute thing the girls there are always willing to squeez me in even if it means taking some of ther lunch hour or staying after hours. I never had billing issues, pretty straight foward either I have a copay and pay up front or have a deductible and receive a bill... If my labs results are normal they are easily emailed to me. My refills are also done the same day my pharmacy request them. I am very happy with the service and care I receive at her office:) I would recommend her to anyone for sure!!! She is always available and only goes on vaccation once a year for one week. I just love her!!! read more
