I attempted to change a thermostat and somehow lost power to the ac. Being a novice I decided to stop while I was ahead. It is a Sunday and I thought I would be out of luck but called Jaycox as a friend recommended them. A wonderful lady answered and advised the could get someone out today. She advised of the service fee for Sunday's up front so there would be no surprises. As promised a kind, knowledgeable man arrived by the name of Scott. I explained the situation. He checked some wiring and found a blown fuse. He explained I had crossed a wire. He changed the fuse and wired the thermostat CORRECTLY and I had ac again. Great service! I can't say enough good things about Jaycox!! Last year I explained the problems we were having with different air conditioning problems in our home I.e some vents not getting much air and air conditioner running all day in the summer. What first impressed me was Mr Perini. He came out and went over things that could be done to check to see what the problem might be but there was absolutely no pressure to buy anything or choose anything immediately but to review it and if we wanted anything just let him know. We decided to have the complete check to see where we might be losing air. They did much more. The duct work was fine but took us up to show insulation issues and solutions but again no pressure. We reviewed what they gave us and had them insulate as they suggested (one area that was not even insulted but the Jaycox inspector put his phone in and showed no insulation in a area we were having problems with). It took them a day to finish all the insulation and we noticed improvements immediately. We where told our air conditioner was on the border for sq footage of house. A couple of weeks later Bob Perini came out again ( we asked) and we discussed new air conditioners and again no pressure!! ( so refreshing). We chose a larger unit since ours was getting old and chose our seer. The unit was installed without incident and they checked all vents. We had a wonderful summer (2017) !! Cool rooms $150.00 per month lower electric bill and relaxing. We had our fall and spring check ( free) with the same professional attitude as through our entire process. Our home stays warm in the winter and cool in the summer thanks to added insulation and a new air conditioner and the confidence we have in Jaycox. We had our 23 year old unit replaced in March . From the sales to install was nothing but professional. We had multiple estiments for the replacement and weren't comfortable with the what we were seeing from the other companies. We had the energy audit and found out we were in good shape and they didn't try to sell us more service than we needed. The installation was fast and well done and the installers were very knowledgeable and pleasent to have in our home. After the install they sent out a crew to balance the ducts to get the same airflow in all the rooms as we have the old metal ducts. The system worked well but did not seem to get cool on the living room with this heat. Jaycox sent the balancing team back out at, at no cost, to rebalance the ducts. The system is working perfectly . They took care of all the paperwork for warranty and power company. I would highly recommend them,and already have, to all my friends. read more

I have used Jaycox several times and they have been great. Steve has fixed a few issues and the blower motor went out and he diagnosed it right away and I ended up getting a new ac unit. Took a bit to get it installed as they were busy but they got my old unit running for the time i was waiting and didn't have to go without ac at all. They came out and had a new unit installed and running within a couple of hours after they started. They have always been on time and here when they said they would. What an amazing company to work with! From the scheduling of the appointment to the arrival of the technician, I was blown away by the customer service. Patrick, the technician that serviced our unit, was thorough, honest, and informative. Our unit was short cycling turning on and off every 2 minutes. When Patrick came out he inspected everything in the attic, the ducts, and the unit itself. The fix was minor and like other reviews, he was honest and we have had zero problems since! Finally, a winner! Our last company was "nickel and diming" us to death. Every time they came out, they found something wrong. We had used Jaycox before, but were disappointed because they did so little. But truthfully, little was needed. Shortly after resuming with Jaycox, we decided the summer bills with our 18-year central heat pump were no longer acceptable. We started with our electric utility's energy audit. They recommended attic insulation and a more efficient heat pump. We set our requirements with Jaycox, and they gave a written proposal with pricing. Since our old unit ran constantly during summer months, we decided to upgrade to a 3-ton system. This required the replacement of our smaller existing ductwork. We also agreed to upgrade our attic insulation. Since Jaycox was a qualified contractor, the new unit and insulation were eligible for utility company rebates. We needed to postpone the installation to 2016. Although the proposal was no longer valid, Jaycox kept their original prices. The week before the installation, Jaycox answered all questions about what to expect. After ductwork replacement, the air handler unit was brought into the attic through the gable vent opening. The entire job took about 8 hours, slightly shorter than estimated. A week later, Jaycox's insulation crew upgraded our attic to a recommended R-38 value. Afterwards, both Jaycox and APS sent inspectors to ensure everything was working properly. After 3 months of operation, summer has set in -- we had one day at 118 degrees. The results: * Performance: Because the unit cools so fast, we reduced the thermostat setting by 5 degrees. * Operating Cost: We got our first bill that accounted for summer heat. Our usage was 14.9% lower than last year, even with the lower thermostat. * Issues: Absolutely none. Plus, our first two years will include semi-annual maintenance visits at no cost. read more

Having been an electrical contractor as a vocation I am pleased to write this review. Upon returning from a vacation we heard our air conditioning blower making unusual noises. We called Jaycox in the morning and ordered a motor and blower wheel for our off brand system. (Amana-Goodman) They suggested that they send a man to check and I said no thank you I was sure of my prognosis. Sue at Jaycox said they would order the parts. That evening the temperature inside the house reached 104 degrees (we live in AZ as you know) The following morning we were making reservations with a local hotel when Jason from Jaycox arrived with the parts needed. Within a short period we had our air back. It is going to be 112 degrees today (day 3) and we are very comfortable thanks to a great contractor!!!! Totally agree with the other comments here. This is an honest company, and I will only use them for HVAC issues. I have used them twice. The first time I called George Brazil first. Their technician was going to "do me a favor" and fix my AC for $2500. Something did not smell right. I called Jaycox and they came out and fixed my unit for $158.00 Earlier this week I called them again because my unit's fan was not turning and the house was not cooling. I called Jaycox immediately, they arranged to come out that day. Within a minute Jake diagnosed the problem as a disconnected wire. He had it fixed in 5 minutes. When I asked what was their charge for a service call, he refused to charge me. He made a trip to my home, fixed my AC, and charged me nothing! Customer for life! read more

I am writing to reaffirm what I'm sure you already must know, as it simply is so plainly obvious. But, first I will let you know of my own professional experience, which has absolutely nothing to do with HVAC, to help place my comments into perspective. I've worked until recently for 25 years at the University of California at Berkeley as the Operation Manager for Grounds and Pest Management Services. With a staff of up to 65 at any given time, I provided land management services to 800 acres of open space and 230 acres of developed landscape, provided pest management services to approximately 7,000 housing units, 150 campus buildings, 15 commercial kitchens, eight child care facilities, three sport centers and a health care facility and provided recycling and refuse services to all campus facilities including the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. As such, I've worked with a wide variety of customers/clients, as you can imagine. In 25 years I've had three staff members that I would describe as being consistently exemplary. As you can see, I'm not as generous as many can be in rating the performance of staff. So, know that although I've met two of your staff for only a short period of time I have become quite adept at recognizing the qualities that comprise excellence in people. I had the pleasure of meeting and conversing with both Kelton Francis and Dan Barley on June 28, 2016. Kelton took the lead as he was in the process of training and familiarizing Dan with what I will call the "Jaycox Way." That, of course put Kelton as the primary customer contact, and while maintaining that contact he did an excellent job of comfortably and meticulously showing Dan through the orderly diagnostic procedures and documentation when appropriate or when gentle reminders were due, all of which Dan dutifully and thoroughly took on. Kelton explained to me the status of the diagnostics along the way from the edge of the roof in terms I could understand knowing I had earlier stated that I was quite ignorant when it came to HVAC or even electricity. This shows Kelton's great ability to adapt conversation customized to the client, a profound skill. Previously, in meetings with two other HVAC contractors, either I was being set-up as a potential consumer victim, or giving them the benefit of the doubt, they simply didn't have the requisite technical background for proper diagnostics. Regardless, both were willing to provide me with a new blower for up to $585.00 installed. Kelton and Dan quickly identified to me and fixed the real problem by replacing a capacitor at 75% less expense to me. They also provided me with further information to consider for possible future service. Simply put, from my perspective, Kelton is an outstanding staff member and Dan is clearly adhering to his leadership and they found Jaycox a lifetime customer. I will be sure to spread the word. The experience I had using Jaycox Heating and Cooling was OUTSTANDING! My AC had stopped cooling at about 3PM in the dead heat of this Arizona summer! It is me, my wife & my 2 year old daughter living in our house so i was quite concerned about the rising heat. So i picked up my phone and called Jaycox AC phone call was extremely easy and smooth only asked for address and name and a brief description of what was wrong. Kim (the receptionist) informed me that a tech will be dispatched as soon as one frees up. Within the hour I received a call from the Technician (Kyle) informing me that we was 5 mins away. He arrives to my house wearing a face mask (Covid-19) and had it on the whole time! He informed me that my motor had went out. which he had a new one handy on the truck so I had him put it in once the new one was in we turned the system back on and she started purring! now the price, 69 dollars for the service call (which is common for these companies) the motor was $450 which, I kid you not was $200 cheaper than a few of the other companies I had called. There is no question I will be using Jaycox Heating and cooling for all my AC work! read more

I don't get to worked up when the A/C goes out... It's a mechanical piece of equipment that will go bad at some point. There is no use in fretting about it. But, when it does go bad you want someone who has a CLUE and is HONEST about the issue. We've only used them recently (after some dishonesty from another LARGE A/C contractor) and we are very happy with the work. I didn't get "good news" from Jaycox but I got an HONEST evaluation of the problem and what it would cost to fix it and when they would be back to complete the work. Wow!!! I recently had 2 (0ther) AZ companies to my home for repair assessments. One told me my fan motor was going out and gave me their rate on replacing my unit. #2 told me it was a different issue, but I needed a new unit. Both of these firms had good reviews here, so buyer beware!!! Finally, I had the GREAT fortune to call Jaycox and Jake came my home (on time) on 9-25-14 and his assessment was a bad defrost board which he just bypassed. He did NOT recommend that I get a new system ($5k savings for now). Jaycox worked with my schedule as a teacher, answered numerous emails and texts from me during the day in a timely fashion. Jolene was great with phone Customer Service. In short: if you need HVAC assist and are in their service area, They don't do the coupon stuff (to my knowledge), but those aren't always the best deals in the long run!!
