I have used other appliance repair services in the past and experienced some terrible levels of customer service. Jay's Appliance Repair was referred to me by a co-worker over 6 years ago. I can honestly say, Jay and Rick have been awesome to deal with each and every time. They have repaired my dryer, refrigerator and now my new dryer. We had a positive experience with Jay's Appliance company until our most recent issue. We called Richard, the technician, who ordered a part but took longer than expected to schedule the repair. We couldn't reach Richard on the appointment day and had to speak to Jay, the owner of the company. Jay was unaware of the work order, but said he would handle it. Richard then angrily called us, accusing us of going over his head, was combative and condescending on the phone to the point of harassment. This behavior was highly unprofessional. When we called Jay to resolve the issue and request another technician, he talked over us and blamed us for communicating with his technician instead of him. We explained that we did so on the technician's advice, but Jay refused to acknowledge Richard's unprofessional complaint or take any responsibility for the situation. Jay's Appliance offers good service when things are going well, but refuses to take responsibility when issues arise. We won't be using them again. Richard didn't provide any discounts or incentives for choosing to call him directly instead of the office. We assumed he may receive a commission for repeat business. read more

Rick and Jay are the best appliance repair guys in the business. They offer good advice, fair pricing, and reasonable timing in repairs. They have serviced our oven, dishwasher, washing machines, and dryers. These days when appliances don't seem to last, it's good to have quality repair people to help. Great service! I called about my oven not heating. He came out the same day, he already knew the issue from some simple over the phone questions. Came with the part and installed it in less than an hour. He also took a Quick Look at my washing machine and was able to fix that as well while he was still here. Jay has fixed my Whirlpool Wall oven Microwave combo about a year and a half ago. The magnetron went out. Not only was he great to deal with he quoted us a price, then said the part was lower and charged us less. This saved me a few thousand dollars not having to replace my unit. Still going strong today! Flash forward my 3 yr old Bosch Dishwasher started flashing some error codes. I called Lowe's as I had an extended service plan. They sent out w technician that was incompetent to say the least. He wanted to bust out my tile flooring to remove the dishwasher. Saying it had been put in after the dishwasher, wasn't true. I called Lowe's back and asked them to send someone else which they told me their service techs are certified. Wait 3 weeks nothing called Lowe's back they sent the tech out, the previous guy ordered the wrong part. Well they said part is out of stock and it's not repairable. Went round and round with Lowe's and said no more 6 weeks is more then enough. I was ready to go buy a new dishwasher but said let me get Jay's opinion. He came out properly diagnosed it and had the part to fix it. He had me up and going in less then 30 min. While he was here I asked if he could fix my oven door the glass popped out of the track. He gladly fixed it. His prices cannot be beat! Above all of that his honesty, and integrity are impeccable. I fell like I won the lottery having my dishwasher back. We have used Jay's Appliance Repair in the past and the service was pretty good. But this most recent experience was awful. Took them over a month to even come look at our dishwasher, and then another two weeks plus to bring the part. They still couldn't fix it and Jay's brother Rick was quite unpleasant to boot. We planned to purchase a new dishwasher through them, and Rick said he would text me later with some options. I've never heard back from them. In the meantime, I purchased a new dishwasher from Brandsmart and had it installed for less than they estimated the repair would be initially. Lesson learned! read more

I used Jay to repair burner on gas stove. I was charged $205. Burner still does not work. He said it was the best he could do. That would have been helpful before paying for it to still be inoperable. read more

I go out of my way to support small businesses so it's a shame I have to give a bad review here. Nice enough guys but unfortunately can't recommend using them. Took a good three weeks with numerous follow-ups and postponements due to not being in the area to get to our place to fix a leaking dishwasher. Ok I understand they are busy. However, when they Rick finally was able to come he put back on the rubber sealant and it still leaked. Had them back over for yet another $150 charge and was given 1.5 hours notice with no advanced head up on which day. We were out of town and raced to get a neighbor over the day before Thanksgiving to no avail to replicate the leak because we were told he couldn't stick around to see where it was coming from. Receipt stated for the first visit "checked for all leaks." Seemed like we should be lucky they even came back to fit us in. Asked Jay to remedy and zero response. Have to agree with a previous post that if there are problems with the service then too bad. Save your money and just buy a new appliance. Wasted $300. read more

Have had the same experience as some of the more recent reviews. Over the years have had good experience with this company but our last experience was horrible. Came out quick enough the first week of February to look at our LG refrigerator ice maker. A part needed to be ordered. My husband followed up several times with either no response or being told the part was on order. My husband texted Jay's brother Rick today to ask about the status of the part had the most rude and unpleasant experience. Will never use this company again. read more

I used to be happy with his service, but not any more. He never, ever keeps any schedule as it's always a spur of the moment issue. After purchasing a second-hand fridge from him several years ago, the freezer has been malfunctioning three times with a defective ice maker. They came over to install our dishwasher and wash/dryer. Both were installed incorrectly and we were charged way too much. (although i suppose charging any amount for doing it wrong is too much) Within two months we had to hire a different appliance company, to fix their work. I'd recommend either using a different appliance company or simply not using appliances as superior alternatives. read more

This company came right out to help me with my gas stove issue. Very reasonable service call but did not even charge me! I will definitely recommend them to anyone with appliance problems. Rick is the name of the gentleman who came out to my house. He was efficient and very cheerful but most of all extremely knowledgeable and knew immediately what I needed.
