When technician arrived for a diagnostic on my fridge, I was charged a fee of $135.00 for labor that would be credited later. They did not honor that $135 had previously paid, and are trying to charge me the full $275.00. Be aware they are scammers. read more

After the repair, the technician advised we don't use the dryer until the dryer is cleaned, a service they provide. The technician failed to reconnect dryer exhaust hose to the duct, that was sloppy attention to their work. I called to speak to Calvin after the service call, a week later, still no call. The repairs were not simple fixes and required multiple visits due to specialized parts that were not available locally and needed to be special ordered. All of our interactions with the CalTek team from scheduling to repair were amazing! Everyone was professional, personable, communicated with us through the entire repair process, and the tech was always punctual. I sent a message via the TrustDale website and got a return call from CalTek the following day. I had seen their $125 service call/diagnostic fee on their site. No mention was made of this fee when I made an appointment. So I asked whether this fee would be credited if I went ahead with repairs on the first visit. I was told NO. I know what I need; I need a new icemaker. No doubt. The current one doesn't work. I think it's important to know that you will be paying CalTek $125 in addition to the cost of parts and repairs. If you choose not to proceed with repairs for whatever reason, you will have to pay them $125. Full disclosure is important to me. read more

I submitted a service request to CalTek via TrustDale to repair my LG refrigerator. Makayla from CalTek called me and said they do not service my location, Ellenwood, but it clearly states that they do on their website. I believe they refuse to accept my request because the project was too big for them to handle. I agree with another review, they are incompetent and dishonest. read more

This is the second time Calvin has gotten our kitchen up and running. I called all of the big appliance repair places. As soon as they heard I had an Italian brand vent hood they said no. I had even procured the circuit board needed to fix it. Calvin took it on and had everything working perfectly in under an hour. Great work nice person. Excellent job by CalTek Appliance Repair. Our washer wouldn't turn on despite troubleshooting efforts. I put in a Yelp request and CalTek was the first to respond. Turns out it was a fluke and the washer turned in when the tech came. He still did a thorough check and could have charged us for unnecessary parts but didn't. I would definitely use CalTek again for our LG appliances. read more

We had a hum in our dishwasher motor and could not get the appliance to run. We made the mistake of calling this business. CalTek spent less than 15 minutes and got our dishwasher motor running. We were initially ecstatic, as we thought we would need a new one. Importantly - the tech checked and stated "Let me check for leaks" --"No, no leaks!"...and he advised us to use the dishwasher daily to keep the appliance working. (We had been running it about every 2 days - up to a week, depending on our activities.) We had a leak the entire time....so using the dishwasher daily exacerbated the problem greatly. I called and got no reply and took it upon myself to remove the front panel where I saw an active leak. We stopped using the appliance, but our floor is a mess - and CalTek has no accountability or integrity on this. When I asked about his statement about no leaks, his reply was that he could not watch an entire cycle to check for leaks that would take too much time". BEWARE - they know all the right words and terms to skirt responsibility. The worst business that has been in my home in over 20 years. BEWARE!!! Incompetent, dishonest or both. read more

Finding a trustworthy, professional, and knowledgeable appliance repair company can be difficult but CalTek is. 5-star in all. Thankfully, I found several great recommendations for CalTek on our neighborhood NextDoor app and decided to give them a try on our Samsung dryer. We had already had a different local repair company come out, but they had made the problem worse. Very glad we called CalTek instead, and should have called them from the start! They were able to quickly diagnose the issue, fix the problem, and walk us through the different steps of what was being changed/replaced and why. Appliance issues are very frustrating, but I am glad we now have CalTek to call with any future appliance needs. Thanks, Calvin! read more

If I could give a negative number of stars, I would! We called CalTeck to fix our broken dryer (not heating) and our refrigerator (leaking water). The earliest they could come was 48 hours, so based on other reviews, we went ahead and scheduled them. Their technician, Kevin, arrived and diagnosed that the dryer needed a new heating element (no surprise) and the fridge a new valve. He said the office would check on whether they could get the parts immediately or would need to order them and said they would text or email within 24 hours. He took our $99 check and left. It's now been a full week and they have completed ghosted us! I called twice and the answering machine was full so I could not leave a message. I sent a message through their website, but no response. Total silence! I called Mr V and they had both appliances fixed in 48 hours. read more
