2 years ago I was very disappointed with this place and I gave it 1 star. Now I'm thinking this is the best run Home Depot in Long Island. The people that work here are actually approaching the shoppers asking if they can help! Anybody can do that, right? What makes them different? They hired intelligent individuals with a lot of knowledge, a rare find! I also love the fact that now they accept cash not "exact change or credit cards" like in the past. The Home Depot is a very reliable store that clearly supports my gardening interest. The plants and accessories are not that cheap, but definitely go on sale by the end of season, which is what I wait for. The staff are serious and some are friendlier. Still a favorite store for me. read more

Home Depot on Hempstead turnpike in Levittown NY is kinda the alternate to Lowe's. When one can't find it in one place they often can check the other. Looking for pegs for a project 1rep in Home Depot who works in the lumber section who's name o didn't get, ( and like me, was wearing what looked like hearing aids)) was the only one of many who actually knew what I needed and showed me where they were after a month long search (see pix). I hope he can get recognition for his service. Along with this, I also with some effort found a few garden pots that other places didn't have. read more

I testify to the upmost pleasant experience at The Home Depot of Levittown just moments ago. It started off with an emergency run to find a specific part to a cabinet. Home Depot is closing in 20 minutes and I was "that guy "running in there moments before they close. First off, the doors opened automatically. So I made a beeline to where I thought I can find the part and soon found myself waddling between the same two isles. Then, a wonderful worker, who was already engaged with a task, went great lengths to solve my issue. He lead me to another worker who knew like a computer: "Back wall, between 15 & 16" he spoke, a gentleman. He was on the money! I was then asked by the original worker who was about 20 isles away from me, performing his task, "hey, did you find those parts?" And another gentleman on my way towards the exit: "need help finding something, Sir?" As I glanced the isle for a composter: "next time" I said. The attention and care for customer success here is the best that I've seen in decades in a Home Depot. The care and concern made me feel like I was a part of something special. These workers don't need to be this considerate, but they chose to. Being the faces and voices of the company, these workers are worth a billion dollars and deserve their own stores. I will be a patron of The HOME DEPOT of LEVITTOWN for as long as it stays this consistent and gracious. It's truly an example and, what should be, the standard of all customer service teams. After waiting 10 minutes trying to get an attendant to help me load my car with no success. Even though the garden cashier over the loud speaker, requested for an attendant, a man offered his help and wanted me to my car All the way to my car he was hitting on me. I told him as he placed the garden rocks in my car, that my husband was not feeling so good and couldn't come with me. I felt violated and something more evil could have happened. I purchased4 pieces of finished wood planks that were 8ft long I explained to the worker that I needed each piece cut 26 inches for a total of 3 from each piece total 12 26 inch pieces He put it on the machine measured and some were 25 inches. I don't understand how you can screw that up. But than again these people hate working. They don't even look or talk to you. HORRIBLE!! Warmer weather and going to do some painting n scraping peeling old paint. Flagged down Home Depot staff for assistance which aisle to find safety mask. The staff went to ask another staff where these items located. They gave me directions to stay on right and walk to end of paint aisle. So many mask and figuring out which one appropriate. Was in the paint aisle then had questions and another staff,who was opening gate for customer who wanted spray paint. She really helped with finding info about masks then sent me over to hardware. Veteran staff definitely knew his stuff. Helped me weed out which mask was the best for the job. Went through self check out and bar of item not able to show up on scanner. Staff came over to assist. Look, Home Depot isn't exactly known for its service, but I find that Long Island's Home Depots do worse. We've had some nightmare service experiences with curbside pickup at other locations around the island. More than one in fact. So the bar was set pretty low for me coming to Levittown. We had heard from family that this location was the best in the area, so we thought we'd give it a shot. In terms of curbside pickup, this place was a breath of fresh air compared to other locations. Parking was plentiful, the process for pickup was clear, and the order came out within 7 minutes. Really that's all you could ask for, right? I didn't feel like the service was extraordinary, but it met my expectations, which again is better than most other HD locations around these parts. In most cases we find ourselves visiting Home Depot to pick up something in store, though, and again this store meets my expectations. The store has plenty of supply in stock, is kept clean, and overall has everything you'd expect from a Home Depot. Service is also good. Employees are willing to help and do a good job overall. It's Home Depot. It's not amazing, but like most of what you buy here, it's functional. read more

Cannot express how helpful Jaime from Home Depot was. As a woman who needs a little extra help in the handy section of life when hubby is away, Jaime was SO incredibly welcoming. He walked me through each step and explained in detail the materials I needed to get. Jaime saw to it each step was done to perfection and wouldn't accept anything less than my happiness. It must be a great place to work because every time I go there, there are groups of employees standing around chatting with each other and most don't offer to help you. In the summer a lot of the plants in their garden section are dried up and need watering. Otherwise I would say it's a pretty typical Home Depot. read more

Try posting the right hours on here! I showed up at 9:15 and it was closed at 9. So glad yelp says it's open until 10. Now that they've been open for over a year, I went back to look for the simplest of things. It's confirmed that this store is a horrible disappointment. They moved to build a behemoth home center and nothing about This place is improved. They've only got two main entrances, despite a mile long front façade. Parking is always a struggle, where it never was before. Items out of stock and hard to find when they aren't. And the service as usual is surly at best, if you can find someone to put down their phone long enough to bother. Go to Lowe's; save yourself the time and aggravation. read more

I'm done with this place. I have gone to the Levittown location about five or six times, and it has some of the worst customer service I've experienced. It's generally difficult to find someone willing to assist customers in Home Depot, but this one is especially bad. After my visit yesterday (December 19, 2019), I won't be coming back here. I stopped in to buy a sheet of plywood for a bathroom renovation, and I needed to have the wood cut so it could fit in my car. Apparently asking someone to do this at this location is a serious offense. Here's a snippet of my interaction with the employee: Me: Hi, can I get some help cutting some plywood so I can fit it in my car? HD Staff: Fuck. Alright, just give me a minute. Me: Or I can ask someone else... HD Staff: No, I'll do it. They're supposed to get rid of those machines. Me: The cutting machines? HD Staff: Yeah. People don't know how to bring saws anymore. Me: I must have left mine at home today. (And so on...) A better response to my initial question might have been, "Sure, what length?" It's a bit simple and to the point, but at least it comes off as friendlier and more professional. But what do I know? I'm just a guy who doesn't bring a saw with him to work every day. The lady at the self-checkout machine was completely unfriendly too. I just love it when they come over to help and don't say a word to you, while acting as if you're the worst person in the world for needing assistance with an item. It's experiences like these that make me glad I travel around Long Island a lot during the week. There are plenty of other home improvement stores to choose from, so there's no need for me to go to this one anymore. I know this review on its own probably won't change anything, but if it can get a couple of people to avoid coming here, then it'll be well worth it. I won't wish this store complete failure (as I did with the Marshalls in Oceanside, NY), but I just hope people's attitudes improve to make the shopping experience better for everybody. read more

Big improvement over the former East Meadow Home Depot. The EM location was great when it first opened but went downhill in the past few years. Hopefully Levittown doesn't follow the same path. It's a huge store in the former KMart location. Clean, well organized and lots of employees. Short wait for check out, lots of cashiers were open. Came opening night and this place is huge! So clean and organized. All of the employees had smiles on and asked if we needed help (I hope they keep this up!). Garden section was bigger than Lowes. They already have a full section dedicated to Christmas with fake trees and decorations. Halloween section is on display as well. In the refrigerator area they have kitchen layouts almost like Ikea so you can get a feel for the type of kitchen you're going for. Cabinets, counter top and sink etc. Home Depot really has a lot to offer. Washers and dryers, outdoor and indoor lighting, fans, flooring, countertops, grills, gardening the list goes on. read more

I was in the paint department this morning and was VERY fortunate to be introduced to Lashonda. My husband painted the dining room (soooo many cut ins) I hated the color I picked! Lashonda showed me how much color went into the base and basically what the shade would really look like. She was so patient & personable. I'm gonna give this place two stars only because two employees that work there and I'm mad I didn't get their names were amazing helpful ladies.. long story short everything I picked up to purchase had the wrong price on it and according to the cashiers, it is my job to look at the SKU numbers which is fine, but when there is one whole entire section full of the same products with the same price, and maybe a couple of the ones advertised hidden in the back, and they all look the same.. as a customer it's very difficult to figure out.. I also tried to purchase a Febreze, which was priced at 697, but when you bring up at the register it's 14 so in my opinion, they're putting products with the wrong prices and if you're not paying attention, then you're going to pay more.. so false advertisement is what I'm saying.. and your job is to make sure you pay attention to the SKU numbers.. read more

I came here to get my father a brand new tool box with some tools. His current box is old and missing alot of tools and pieces and its long past due for an update. So I came in walked right to the tools section and noticed there was nobody in the dept. I didnt think much of it because i technically knew what i wanted so it wasn't much of an issue. One gripe though was the pricing. It was a little confusing to figure out what cost what at certain parts of the shelf. It had nothing to do with the price tags, moreso the items were in some instances mixed around. Now there also was alot of empty spaces where items weren't stocked and it caused me to settle with items that weren't my first or second choice but then again its possible that the items were just sold out. So I gathered the few things I picked up and was very pleased with the woman at self check out who went outside and got me a cart to throw my things in since I forgot to grab one coming in the store. She didn't have to do that but i appreciated it very much. All in all I had a decent shopping experience. On July 15 I purchased a generator from your store. I only used it once for about 48 hours. I've been having nothing but problems Starting this generator since day one.I contacted Westinghouse several times on this matter they gave me a case number. First they tried to solve the issue by sending me a new charger for the battery. Then they told me to have the battery tested at my local mechanic which I did, and it still did not work. Then they told me it's probably the switch that turns the system on. they sent me a new switch and asked me to install it after installIng it The generator only started up if I used it manually,not the automatic start.I contacted them again and asked if they could get the generator serviced they told me I would have to take it myself to get it serviced at a authorized generator repair shop, This Generator weighs a couple hundred pounds I'm a 60 year old man with a bad back and only have a car not a truck. Once again I contacted them and they gave me another case number said somebody was gonna call me back and they never did.I sent them an email all they keep telling me is they are very behind in customer service due to COVID-19. I honestly think Home Depot should replace this unit because this is where I purchased it and it's been giving me nothing but troubles, like I said since day one.I do a lot of purchases at Home Depot and I really Feel you should do something for your good customers. The Place looks great and its huge, but its still lousy customer service.

Went into the new location ony to realize you can move locations, you can put a fresh coat of paint up but it doesnt change the fact that you still have terrible customer service. When you have a sales person such as David aka "Day-Day" who makes it seem like helping you is a huge inconvenience, it makes it hard to actually want to spend money in at home depot. Then found out when you buy an electric dryer you must buy a powercord to go with it a vent ect. Costing close to another 60 dollars. I said: "Oh I have those parts for my old Magtag would they fit it? His response: a deep sigh(cause clearly my question bother him) followed by a condescending tone"well if you do you'll void the warranty" He them followed it with an eye roll and a hand gesture. "I mean I can show you the document" At that point I stopped speaking and the other person I was shopping with finished the conversation. I purchased a Samsung refrigerator in 2017 along with the warranty. Last month the refrigerator stopped working- food no longer cold. After calling the warranty number and having the service company come to see what the problem is, I have been waiting over a month for parts. I have spoken to more that 10 people who have "urgently escalated" the issue. Nothing has been resolved. No one is authorized to give me a buy out, and no one can tell me when and if the parts are coming. To date- it is over a month without a refrigerator. I have 3 children and Home Depot's warranty department is doing nothing to help me. I am an RN, working in a hospital through the pandemic and I need and deserve a buy out do I can purchase a refrigerator. I am so disgusted- I will never buy an appliance from Home Depot again. read more
