It was my first stay at a Tru by Hilton, and it was good to know that a hot breakfast was included since we were planning on an early start the next day. Checking in, we asked for our free water and was handed two bottles and a snack in a paper bag. The room card worked for checking out the pool, but not the Fitness Center or Laundry Room. Seems they're trying to convert their guests to using the app, but I wasn't interested. The room was basic. Two beds, a desk area, a ledge on which was set the flat screen tv which doubled as a mirror for us. Mini fridge, and open clothing hanging area, additional wall hangers perfect for 3 to use for a jacket and a mask or purse. The hair dryer hung in the bathroom in a cloth bag. No more mini bottles, as they had soap and lotions dispensers attached to the wall (sadly empty, as they weren't see through, which makes the staff guess at when to refill). The shower glass was completely see through, however, which causes trouble for friends sharing a room who just don't feel comfortable being THAT intimate. The courtesy breakfast was pretty good though. The star was the pancake maker, which poured out batter at the wave of a hand to cook them up fresh as it travelled along the conveyor belt. There was also warm oatmeal to be enjoyed with the optional accompaniments: brown sugar, dried cranberries, sliced almonds. I spotted individual yogurts and milk that I poured in a mini fridge. We had scrambled eggs and sausages sitting in heating trays that were refilled by the lady manning the breakfast station as we dined. There was also bread and bagels available for toasting, and I spotted a microwave we could access if needed. If you're looking for luxury this isn't it. There are some plus an minus about this place. Plus: Located near a lot of eateries so you have your pick. Nice hot breakfast in the morning. Small game section and indoor pool for the kiddos. Very attentive staff. Main areas pretty clean. Minus: Unless you are a petite couple these rooms are only big enough to sleep in. If you are a lager couple one of you might as well have a seat until the other finish moving around. There is no carpet on the floors in the rooms which leaves the room very echoey. I could everyone around me. The walking overhead was at times unbearable. Especially at 12:30 am after a 5hour drive. Because of where the hotel is situated the constant cars was a bit much too. Bring melatonin No storage space for your luggage aside from a table. The bed really depends on your taste. I found it to be comfortable enough while my husband thought it was too hard. Pillows to me will make or brake a bed. They were ok. Your typical one firm and one overly soft. The in suite bathrooms gave more moving room than the actual room. Long story short- this is an in out place to stay. If you're looking for a vacation location this is not it. However if you're on a budget and bringing kids maybe. Nice clean property staff went above and beyond check-in lady was exceptional. Gave us references for places to eat. Check out even allow us to stay an extra hour. My husband was sick and she said no problem. First of all, let me state I didn't do any research before booking this place. With that said, I had no idea it was built to cater to kids. It's like a jungle gym downstairs in the lobby. The rooms are very minimalist, basically a college dorm. What I don't like the most about this place is the noise, traffic noise. They should have don't more to insulate these rooms. I'm on the front of the building while the highway is on the back and I can hear truck going down the highway like I'm sitting on the side of it. Didn't get any sleep due to the annoying roar of the road. And for the rates they're charging you should be able to get a quiet nights sleep at least. read more

Rooms are clean, but spartan. There is a fridge, but no coffee maker or microwave. There is coffee and hot water 24/7 in the lobby. But that means you have to wear pants and shoes. The tv is limited. 12 of the 67 channels are unavailable. That includes local news and jeopardy, animal planet and others. Parking is ample, place is clean, staff is attentive and helpful. There are plenty of pillows, albeit all are very soft. The cost is comparable and the Hilton app is handy. read more

Had to stay here last minute. Madeline at the front desk was very accommodating! She was a sweetheart and made us feel welcome. Was pleasantly surprised by the hotel. I forgot to take pictures of the room. Bed and accommodations were comfortable. Very basic but comfy. It is near the highway so if the noise is going to bother you ask for a room further away from highway. There is an indoor pool which is nice. I didn't get to take pictures. Breakfast is available in the morning and while there is a large lounge/lobby there is also outdoor seating available. Near the front door is Lavazza coffee and hot water available 24hr a day. I really love this hotel. Everyone is really friendly here especially Erica W, the front desk associate. When things arrive to the front desk for my family and I, she always let us know it arrived. Erica also goes over and beyond to make sure we are having a comfortable stay during our visit here at TRU Hilton. I really appreciate when associates check on guests during their stay at hotels. Morning- they have a great breakfast here. Eggs, sausage, oatmeal, assorted cereals, juice, milk, and etc. Snacks- the hotel sale snacks here and other items that guests may need and want during their stay. TRU Hilton is a really well kept hotel. Nice size beds, computer desk, fluffy pillows, heater and ac in rooms and throughout hotel, bathroom is stocked with shampoo/conditioner, blow dryer, large screen television, a small refrigerator in the room and a microwave downstairs in the lobby. Housekeeping is great. This is a really quiet hotel as well. They have chairs where you can sit in the lobby and watch television as well. This is also a non smoking hotel which is great. The rooms smell really fresh and you don't have to worry about second hand smoke. Free- free breakfast, pool indoors, free WiFi, free parking, free fitness center, free business center where you can print and use the desk top computer. Area- this is a really safe area. Many places to shop and dine at. Chick-fil-a, Denny's, Walmart, Chinese Buffet, Indian Restaurant, 99 Restaurants, and the list goes on. You will definitely find a place to shop and dine at. If I had to do it all over again, I will definitely stay here again if my family and I are in the area. :-) read more

I've been a fan of TRU since my visit to San Antonio but today's visit was just MEH . Couldn't use the pool, toooo many people in it and waiting outside to use it. Blood stain on the bed and overflowing trash bins. Breakfast had 10% of its offered items. I won't give up on TRU but this location didn't do it for me. read more

I stayed at this hotel last week and it was amazing. Bradley was at the front desk and checked me in within minutes. I had a clean room and comfortable bed. I ate breakfast each morning before heading to work. Ruthie greeted me with her beautiful smile and she kept that buffet area clean. I was truly impressed with their customer service skills and hated to leave. Thanks for letting me stay at your awesome hotel. Super loud with highways noise, like all night long. Not sure room service schedule, supposed to be every other day but its more "by request". Refrigerator so small you have to take shelve out to put bottles of water in. Overall its not terrible. Clean and confrontable. But super loud. Staff was ok, noting standing out. The homeless person with her cart and her mannequin head in the lobby charging her phone every morning was a bit odd but to each their own. I honesty truly wish Hilton would get away from the SHIT breakfast they have at all the hotels. Them egg omelets are prison level food, sausage taste horrible and the microwave bacon they serve is a grease pit, and its the same at all of them but i digress. After staying at a Tru property in Cincinnati, I thought I'd try this one since it is close to the basketball hall of fame. I was not disappointed. Like the other, this one was bright, had a roomy lobby and was just a fun place to be. Two foosball tables were in the lobby and my son and I played a couple Games after breakfast. My first time at a Tru was generally okay. All the workers wore official T shirts, but otherwise they were very casual. They were pretty friendly and helpful. The dining area was very spacious with plenty of outlets. They had two foosball tables available for people to play and hangout. They also offered plenty of games for all ages and had plenty of lounge spaces along with newspapers and magazines for readers. Breakfast was decent, but it was the same thing every day. I stayed with the oatmeal, eggs, and bacon bits. The chicken sausage was a bit dry and the waffle boats had too much baking soda/yeast in it. (It was fine for the 3 days that I stayed, but after that I felt like I needed variety.) Rooms were comfortable, but cleanliness were a bit lacking. I found a long hair on the sheets. Bathrooms were big, but the soap/shampoo dispensers were hard to use especially if you lack dexterity in your fingers. The lobby decor was vibrant and more information that I even knew I had thought of asking. This was my first time staying at a Tru by Hilton. Hotel is very modern, very nice business center and lobby is a great place to hang out in, socialize and have breakfast. I was not impressed with the breakfast, thus I am removing one star. Standard breakfast fare of eggs, make your own waffles, chicken sausage (note to Hilton get rid of the chicken sausage it was horrible, get beef sausage or turkey bacon). Great selection of cereal, oatmeal, boiled eggs (white and brown) and toppings for cereal and oatmeal. Free tea and coffee available in the lobby 24/7 as well as snack and beverage options for purchase. The room was very modern, has a platform bed with comfortable mattress, pillows were too soft, there was a noise cancelling machine in the room, I did not try it out. Walk in shower was fantastic, tons of hot water and good water pressure. Best part of the room was the 55 inch television. All employees I encountered from the front desk to housekeeping were very friendly and efficient. The hotel was spotless, shopping and dining options close by, but not a walkable neighborhood. We stayed for 2 nights for a quick getaway to Springfield since our daughter was on break from school. The hotel is modern, super clean, and space efficient. It gives a fun and sleek feel to the rooms. The room has no closets. There's a small cubicle above a tiny fridge with a few hangers and a fold-out ironing board to maximize the space. I love that room layout has actual wood flooring instead of carpet! You can actually see if there is dirt or garbage on the floor whereas carpets can mask it. The walls also have hinges to hang things as well as space underneath the beds. The beds were extremely comfortable. The pillows could had been a lot firmer as the beds were already soft. The bathroom has a wider space with all of the toiletries in squeeze bottles (shampoo/conditioner soap, and lotion). Plenty of fresh towels left on the shelves. The only drawback is no microwave in the room. There is a main microwave in the lobby for use. Hotel is bright and airy with fun colors and patterns. There's a game/activity room that greets guests with families and kids. Ample of tables and swinging chairs in addition to a 24 hour snack shop. Also, plates and utensils that you can grab. And a refill water station for bottles/workout. Fitness room is on the smaller side but provided more than enough space. It's also opened 24 hours. The pool was on a smaller scale but it never gets too crowded. My daughter loved it so much and begged for a longer stay! Tru is definitely family friendly. Free breakfast is more on the continental end from 6AM-10AM. It's a lot better than most chains. The set up is very organized. There's milk & juice, cereal, hot oatmeal with toppings, yogurt, DIY waffle maker, sausage, eggs, and a variety of bagels that you can toast. Coffee/tea/hot water are also available in the lobby for 24 hours use with flavor syrups, sugar, milk, etc. It was a busy week since it falls right on valentine's Day weekend as well as school break for most kids. The only negative factor for us was the receptionist that checked us in/out wasn't very friendly. We didn't get a welcome bag or even a smile. The hotel also ran out of complimentary air buds for the gym. We got a glare from her at one point as if we were bothering her. Their app has a glitch where the digital key was not working. The hotel walls are also very thin. You can literally hear the slamming and locking of doors. And any TV or music filtering in and out all night. The first night was brutal since we had a noisy neighbor. I wish, there are more locations available as there's only a few opening now. All in all, it's a great chain that is very well designed and well done. I would definitely return again to Tru for our stay! read more

Melissa greeted us at check-in. I say that loosely. The front door of the hotel is embellished with phrases such as, "Get in here." "Our place is your place." Make an entrance, it's your day to dance." Melissa welcomes us with the following: "Can I help you (snidely). We reply, "We have a reservation and we called last night to see if we can check-in early." Melissa continued on, "No early check-ins! I don't know who told you that but they're wrong!" After several gasps of disgust at us she reluctantly hands us a card-key folder. We ask what floor and room we're on. Melissa: "It's in the folder I handed you. Look there." Now for the room and the hotel itself: cold, antiseptic. Feels like a hospital environment. On a positive note, the evening staff was quite pleasant and the morning brewed coffee was unexpectedly good. We spent 4 nights. Not once did housekeeping make up the room or replenish towels. If you are used to staying a nice Hilton hotel this isn't the place for you. Tru is a modern overpriced Hostel. I felt like I was back in college, the beds are on a hard wood panel very IKEA like. Pack your earplugs because the rooms have hardwood and if your upstairs neighbor walks around a lot you wont get any rest. Hilton should add area rugs to cut down on the noise level. There are no dressers for clothes or storage, they have 5 hangers that are above the little fridge and a wooded panel on top of the air conditioner for your luggage. That's it!! The televisions are huge with great HD picture. The hotel is colorful and has fun games and fuse ball tables for the kids. I did like the soap dispenser in the bathroom. But for the price they charge just stay at the Hampton Inn and get a good nights sleep. read more

This was my first time staying in a Tru by Hilton. Very modern and bright colors and on an easy access road. The lobby has plenty of breakout spaces for individuals or groups. The staff at the front was very friendly and greeted me as soon as I walked in. The location is right by the mass pike so the traffic can be noisy, I'm assuming that's why they provided a sound machine in the room? Or the fact you can hear the people upstairs waking around. The rooms are very small, but the tv is massive!! Plenty of space for one person but may be a tight squeeze if you're traveling with someone else. No closet but instead a rod. The shampoo and conditioner is in a squeeze bottle on the wall that can be difficult to squeeze. I did find a sock in the room that was not mine next to the mini fridge (kinda freaked me out) I do not think I will be staying here again. read more

What a great, reasonably priced hotel!! Thoroughly modern, with a spacious and visually appealing lobby, which has a 24 hour free coffee and tea bar, serving Lavazza coffee. The lobby is also "home" to the plentiful free breakfasts that are offered. It's like a buffet of turkey sausages, eggs, waffles, oatmeal, cereal, yogurt (toppings of all kinds are available to put on the yogurt), fruit, juice, and more coffee!! Soooo much better than what other hotels offer!! We were checked in by Helder, a polite, professional, and very friendly gentleman. He was efficient and knowledgeable, and signed us up for the Hiltons Rewards program, which credited us immediately for our stay. And he also gave us a welcome bag, with two bottles of water in it. How very nice :) The rooms are modern and boast a HUGE flat screen smart TV!!! OMG, it was like being in a mini movie theatre!! The bed is very comfortable, with fluffy pillows. There are plenty of hooks to hang clothing, and a steel rack to place folded clothing. The only downfall (which is minor to my wife and I), is that there are no dressers for clothing in the room. The bathroom is beautiful, with a glass walk-in shower. Very clean and modern. There is a fitness room with a great elliptical machine, and two treadmills. All 3 are professional models, with an advanced screen for all sorts of workouts. There are free weights, balance balls, stretch bands attached to the wall, and weight benches. There is no all-in-one workout maching, though. And did I mention that there is a swimming pool??? :) This was the greatest hotel, and we wished we could live there, lol. For the same price figure per night around this area, we'd have visited others. All of the hotels around are about the same so don't plan on overnighting high-end but the usual $100-130 per night quality. Free breakfast is the normal, did provide a work-out area and pool though! Just hope they keep it clean and please get a regular computer vs. tablet type for ease of printing! This is like staying at the YMCA. It reminds me of a youth hostel. The rooms are clean, but extremely small. No sitting area. No place to put your luggage. No closet for your clothes. Literally just a place to "hang your hat". And you are constantly having to REQUEST HOUSEKEEPING if you want any towels or a refresh of towels, take out your trash, etc. Hotel guests end up putting their food out in the hallway and this is certainly not a good practice. The front desk is usually someone young and inexperienced. The breakfast is nothing to write home about - we ended up going out to breakfast every morning at Lucky Strike and bypassed the Tru fare. This is the NO-FRILLS HOTEL. And they have 2 fuse ball/hockey machines in the lobby - wack-a-ball - which is really unappreciated first thing in the morning before you have had your 1st cup of coffee!!!! They are over-priced for what they provide and/or DON'T PROVIDE. This hotel should be priced at $85.00 a night. read more

While the room is great, everything is clean and spacious, the walls are paper thin. I am trying, at present, To sleep while hearing my neighbor snoring through the wall like he/she is in the room with me. Earlier I was privy to his entire conversation, which did not seem exceptionally loud, but was clearly audible through the wall. So let me begin by saying my kid could have been in serious danger. But I will say from what at the end. So we arrive and it seems nice. I lay on one of the beds and immediately find hair all over it. Hours pass and I come back to shower and when I got out of the shower the floor was wet. I put down a towel and when I lift it up the towel it is black from the dirt on the floor left there from previous occupants that was never cleaned up. So after that I'm looking around the room to make sure everything of mine is packed and I found a prescription inhaler on the floor! Why not just leave a fucking bottle of pills on the ground why don't you! I also brought my son who is low to the ground who could have seen that and used it and overdosed! Like way to go cleaning staff you really made sure the room was clean and wait SAFE before we used it. But besides that the breakfast was good so it gets a one star.
