It isn't easy finding a contractor that is honest and does good work. I was very happy to find JAZ Builders to build a fence and pergola for me. Daniel, who has fifteen years of experience, and his apprentice, Jesús, built a complicated fence and a simple pergola for me in just two days. I'm a guy who likes things done right. Plus, I often want to understand why a thing is done the way it's done. That means that I'm probably a pain in the ass for my contractors because I'm watching every move they make. In addition, I'm asking questions. I congratulate Daniel on having the patience to put up with that. When the lower rail on my new fence was too low, I asked Daniel to remove the rail and raise it two inches. He did that without complaint. Luis Zepeda was very easy to work with. Daniel and Jesús built the fence and pergola; Luis prepared the estimate. When it turned out that con-common had accidentally been used on the fence in lieu of the con-heart that I had requested, JAZ knocked $150 off the cost of the fence. I believe that the quality of the workmanship is very good. Daniel is very careful, and Jesús is a willing helper. The next time I need a fence or retaining wall, I will call JAZ Builders and ask for Daniel. Update: I discovered that one of the rafters had a crack in it. Daniel returned soon after my call in order to replace the defective rafter. When I wasn't satisfied with the new board that he brought me, he went off to find another and returned with a rafter that I thought was good. Customer satisfaction appears to matter to Daniel. Excellent Customer Service! I highly recommend Jaz Builders! They recently replaced our "board on board with privacy lattice" back fence and did a fantastic job! We initially met with Rudy who walked the job with us. He's very knowledgeable and was able to cover all aspects of what was needed to complete this project. From overall scheduling to work completion, everything happened as expected. There were no surprises or hidden costs. Pedro and Andreas did a clean (one full day) fence installation. They arrived on time, were organized and worked well as a team. Note: A few weeks after install, we noticed that one of the fence boards had a small split. We called the office and Gloria scheduled repair team who came out and replaced board, along with inspecting the entire fence. We will continue to keep Jaz Builders at top of our list! read more

During the recent storms, our Redwood tree shed a large branch on our fence on one side of our property, and parts of it came down. We needed to replace the whole side of fencing, including the tricky section on either side of the Redwood.  We chose JAZ for the project out of the 3 well reviewed companies we spoke with because Alberto asked us several questions that showed that he was thinking the project through, and because Gloria, who we were communicating with, was super responsive to our emails, and was proactive in messaging us about dates, etc.  The team came on time and built the 80' of fence in one day. Overall, it looked great. Unfortunately, 3 weeks later, we had another storm and another massive branch fell on one section of the fence and broke the top frame 2"X4", toppling the planks. JAZ came out and did the repair within the week. They also followed up on a couple of details from the initial build, per our request, and Daniel did a great job with the finish.  I've heard from other friends/neighbors with their experience with other fence companies, and we are glad that our experience is so much more positive. I especially appreciate how responsive they have been through the process. read more

The entire side of our fence blew over in a recent storm and I put out some requests from a few local companies. Of those that responded, Jaz Builders did so quicker than anyone and also was able to get someone out to provide an estimate earlier than anyone. One thing in particular that immediately impressed me is that, on the morning of the estimate, Marco called me with his ETA and traffic update. It's a small thing, but so few people do it, even if they're late outside their promised window. The estimate process was quick, clear, and professional, and Marco gave me a thorough rundown of the options, many of which I had no idea existed. No other estimator gave such clear info. From the day of the estimate, it was less than a week and a half to have the crew come out to do the work. They were here early today and just completed cleaning up now. On time, high quality, great communication for any open questions, and the fence looks incredible. I honestly couldn't be much happier. They did our entire outdoor environment from the automatic gate, artificial turf, retaining wall, fencing, moving giant rocks, moving a huge shed, building decorative decking, wrought iron fencing, gates, sprinklers, and building planter boxes.
