Today's order consisted of a Large Hot Cinnamon Mocha and the two donuts you see in the photo attached. Honestly, nothing was bad about my order. The coffee I got was definitely better than that latte I had Ubered from New Canaan last week. As for the donuts, they were good, but they weren't amazing. I do appreciate that my French Cruller had a chocolate frosting on top, but as you can see from the missing icing some of it stuck to the bag. That's why if someone were to bag my donuts I'd prefer a chocolate glaze over any kind of frosting. I like getting the complete item. Speaking of the chocolate glaze, I liked the donut. Again, not a groundbreaking donut by any means, but I would get it again. The price is good too. Ever since the station cafe started doing a $10 card minimum, I stopped going to it because I can't justify paying $10 for a coffee when I need to use cash for other things. Here, I only needed to pay $7.25 for the entire order, and it honestly made more sense for me to order enough to that amount here. The coffee is cheaper too even if you take the $10 minimum argument out entirely. Where coffee was $3.76 at the station, this one was $3.21 before tax. Yeah, if and when the Waterbury branch has difficulties staying on time, I won't mind coming here again to try more things.

I wished that on my second order, the girl who rang up our order would have honored that 15% perfect off because we still made another order after finding out but she didn't and she wasn't very pleasant like the guy, so I just let it go, it was a spiritual weekend for me and I didn't want to let her irritated me. I even included a tip because the male staff member was great. The space is very cafe friendly, plenty of seating, nice ambiance with relaxing music playing. However, there is a train station parking right across. The place itself is pretty large. There is an area to order food with Menu choices written on the chalkboard behind the counter. There is seating in the front and then there's seating in the back as well as a small private room, which is not very private as there is always a group sitting in there. There is also additional seating outside and sometimes there are musicians who play to the aidience. The food itself, specially the crepes are awesome. Service is prompt and overall a good artsy vibe to the place.

I've been seeing Scratch Baking on social media quite a bit and finally had the chance to get there…read moreyesterday. It was later in the day when I went in, so some of the cases were not as full as I would imagine they are in the morning. However, I was still able to get myself a chocolate chip muffin to have for breakfast the next day. The muffin was hands down one of the best I've had! I put it in the microwave for a few seconds and enjoyed every bite! I definitely want to get back there earlier in the day and try other pastries and bakery items.
