I used to go there every morning and would have the gentleman make my sandwich, but then he took some time off and there would be 2 women there. As I created my order, they got it wrong more than several times. And it's not a complicated order, it's simply bacon, 2 fried eggs and cheese w/. Salt, pepper & mayo. I am in LOVE with this place! Much more than just "sweet treats". Come here for a breakfast sandwich, coffee, and grab some delicious pastries as well. They have a few breakfast sandwiches to choose from and I got the egg, cheese, and turkey sausage on a croissant. It came out fast and hot, and was delicious too! Their pastry case is full of a variety of cookies, cupcakes, tarts, and more. They also sell breads. Everything is baked on site and delicious! Service is fast and friendly. There is nothing wrong with supermarket cake! I have been to many a birthday party or office function where someone picked up a cake at the store on the way in and it was fine. Sometimes even pretty good! There was are times, though, when you need more than fine and good, right? Yesterday, we had a nice (socially distant) outdoor party for my brother with a handful of people. Given that most of us have been indoors for almost three months for the most part, I wanted more than fine and good. Thankfully, I remembered Sweet Treats and headed downtown to pick up a cake. They had tres leches, which I know can be delicious. My instructions were to pick up a yellow cake, but I figured I could stretch it a bit with tres leches. And, thankfully, I was right!! The cake was not only beautiful, but it was also delicious and a huge hit. Just about everybody there (four other people) had never had tres leche before, but they loved it! It's so much moister and tastier than yellow cake. We each got a takeout meal from downtown as well and the Sweet Treat cake was the perfect finishing touch. If you are looking for an amazing cake for your next event, I definitely recommend a tres leche cake from Sweet Treats. I do, however, recommend calling ahead. When I arrived in Bridgeport yesterday, I was excited to see a bakery so close to my hotel. Unfortunately, it didn't meet my expectations of a bakery. Yes, they offered a variety of somewhat visually appealing items. The staff was super friendly and attentive. I selected a medium mocha doodle coffee, a hard roll, a mini cannoli, a mini, eclair and a mini napoleon. The coffee was mild, fresh and hot. The hard roll was fresh; the exterior not quite the texture of a hard roll, the inside was soft, fluffy and tasty. The mini cannoli was acceptable, but not sure it was filled today. The mini eclair was tasty, again...freshness questionable. The mini napoleon, I didn't taste. I looked at it and discovered it was quite dry and rubbery in appearance. That did not entice me. Sadly, I cannot say any items were baked on the premises as they didn't have butter to provide when I asked. They offer a butter blend. If the items were prepared and baked on the premises, butter would also be on the premises. Is this a butter rant? Kind of... Would I return? No. read more

A good breakfast sandwich is hard to find in downtown Bridgeport but the Bacon egg and cheese here is BOMB. The bacon is chopped into bits which is different than what I am accustomed to but still delicious. I usually ask for the bacon extra crispy and it's perfect. Love to sneak away from work for a few minutes to have breakfast here. Their "papas rellenas" also delicious, try them. You won't regret it. In terms of the baked goods, I have only tried the cookies, carrot cake and cheese cake. The cookies are decent but the carrot cake as well as the cheese cake are also great! read more

I wanted a chocolate mousse cake for my son's twenty-second birthday and have not been happy or impressed with any local places, none. I called Sweet Treats to see if they had one or could make one and they did have one available. I asked the owner to put it aside for me and went after school to get it. I had no trouble finding a parking spot but it's Main St., so it could be an issue during rush hour etc. It is a clean place with tables for dining in (when available). They had a good assortment of fresh cookies and cakes. He brought my cake out and it was beautifully decorated. He did have one with white icing instead of chocolate but I stuck with traditional. I added my son's name, paid ($50) which I thought was reasonable and left. I can't say enough about this cake. I have had a lot of chocolate mousse cakes and this was the best!! The mousse was light and had a wonderful flavor and texture; so smooth! The layers of cake were moist and delicious. I can't recommend this place more highly. I will absolutely be back for other birthday cakes. I picked up some silly cookies for my grandchildren; they loved them but they're little. I was actually going to another place that happened to be closed and I am so happy they were because this place was amazing from the time I spotted it to the time I left. It smelled amazing when I walked in and it was extremely clean. Eugina was an amazing help with it being my first time here. There was a cake being picked up that was absolutely beautiful and everything on display I wanted to try. I ordered a steak and cheese breakfast sandwich with a hashbrown and it was perfect actually. I also got a chicken and beef empanada.. they were very pretty but not what I expected . Overall I think I will be coming here for breakfast every morning ! read more

Killing time in downtown Bridgeport waiting for bank to open and stopped into Sweet Treats to grab a breakfast sandwich. Wow the BEC is one of the best I have ever had. The Portuguese roll is so fresh and they chopped up the bacon and give you enough to cover the top. It's a great way to have all the delish flavors with every bite instead of the usual one piece of bacon pulling out of the sandwich on the first bite. Picked up some pastries while I was here. Will definitely be back for the bacon, egg, and cheese on a Portuguese roll. read more

I returned and wasn't as impressed as I thought. The macaroon wasn't as good. The customer service was awful. I visited unexpectedly here with my three children in tow. I hoped to find cupcakes to purchase for them to bring to a birthday classroom celebration. They had a small selection so we ended up buying whimsically decorated minion cookies. The cookies were $2.00 each. I asked for a discount to purchase 21 and they wouldn't negotiate. I usually do not write negative reviews but I must let you, Cesar, know how disappointed I was in the way that I was treated this afternoon. I made a special trip to Bridgeport to purchase your bakery goods because I support local businesses as much as I can rather than driving to Westport and Fairfield. Please take some time to train your front desk the correct way to greet patrons. I had to wait for 10 minutes before your front desk acknowledged my presence because she was very involved with a telephone order. When she did look up, she asked me if I wanted to 'buy something'. I asked if she could someone from the back to wait on me while she concluded her telephone call. She went back to her phone order for another 5 minutes to check with you. I was then told that it would another 5 minutes before you could wait on me. And to top it all, your front desk never apologized. She just looked at me . You have a wonderful product but you need to school your front desk on the critical points of customer service. I will save both my gas and money and will not returning. read more

First of all when I walked in the cashier didn't even acknowledge me as I stood in line for 5 minutes listening to her and another customer converse in Spanish . My birthday fell the day after Mother's Day during the pandemic and my sister, who recently moved to Black Rock but is not local, got a cheesecake to bring by for a little celebration. My brother-in-law called on very short notice and was happy to get a cake from the case if that was even possible, but the bakery was happy to make whatever he wanted within reason. I grew up in the region and live in the city and I must say that this cheesecake was exceptional. Not too heavy, but still rich in the ways it should be. The crust had a little bit of chocolate mixed in which gave a pleasant mix to the flavor. While I'm generally not shopping in the area, between the service and the quality you really ought to consider ordering from here. I have strong hopes for the renaissance of downtown Bridgeport and this business should be there for it! A pandemic is no reason not to celebrate (responsibly) and this bakery will help you. read more

There is always a bit of racial discrimination when I come here as someone buying and someone just sitting down and watching other black people order their food. The old lady always seems very un easy about serving black people. There always seems to be extra special service with Latinos vs black folks outside the culture. It's a shame you can pick up on that just for someone observing. The food is trash. The cookies are clearly not fresh. The coffee is always weak, the Colombian coffee is definitely not as advertised. The prices for some of these cookies are insane especially when the quality is near 1. Do better as an over all business. read more

Haven't been here in about two years, mostly on account that I don't go to Housatonic Community College anymore so I'm not in the area, but I have fond memories there. The staff is friendly and pretty quick with service. Between classes or after, I'd stop in with friends, buy a slice of cake and occasionally share some with them if they couldn't afford their own. I've bought the chocolate mousse cake and strawberry shortcake there before, strawberry shortcake being one of my favorites. Always tasted fresh and the frosting was light, perfect imo. :) I'll stop by again one of these days. They have a pretty wide variety of cakes, cupcakes, cookies, etc. I believe they also serve tea, coffee, and soups at fair prices. read more

I was downtown for jury duty and had a few minutes to spare. I bought a large sugar cookie, a large chocolate chip cookie, raspberries cookies, mini cheesecake bites and a cupcake to bring home to my family. Everything that I tasted was great and my family had no complaints! My only suggestion is to switch to paper bags with handles instead of plastic so that you can advertise the company logo. On my walk back to the parking garage, it would have been free publicity. I plan on going back to get some of the raspberry cookies for my coworkers. I know they will love them! read more
