I wish I could give this place less than 1 star. I went on July 2, and have never been more disappointed. I was estatic to try out a new restaurant/bar that would provide a place for me to hang out in Hermitage, have a couple beers, and not have to deal with a ton of cigarette smoke. I will never return to this place. We sat outside, waited for about 20 minutes before we were asked our drink order (after seeing a waitress helping another table 2 or 3 times - the only other table in the patio). I guess because she wasn't our waitress, she felt she didn't have to acknowledge us or let the other server know we were there. We FINALLY got our drink orders placed and got menus. Looked at the menu, which was incredibly cheap-looking and had typos, and I was shocked at some of the prices. It's bar food - it shouldn't be expensive. Our server eventually came back to get our food order, asked my friend if she wanted another beer, and ran off before I could order a second beer. I also didn't have any water, so I was sitting out there with nothing to drink. After waiting about 45 minutes to get our food, the waitress dumped our food off and again didn't ask if I wanted another beer. I had to yell across the patio after her, asking if I could order another beer. Oh and the food.....it was AWFUL. Absolutely inedible. I ordered chicken quesadillas and my friend ordered a bbq sandwich. My chicken was overcooked, the cheese wasn't melted, and the tortilla was burned. And they gave me marinera sauce instead of salsa. My friend's sandwich bun was rock hard and stale. And of course, our server disappeared so there was no way to request any changes. All in all, we were there nearly 2 hours, had two beers a piece and horrendous food, and spent far too much money. If I'm at a bar for 2 hours, I except to drink at a slightly faster pace. It's a shame because it's nice to have non-chain places to hang out, but there is nothing in the world that will convince me to give this place another try. read more

I really, really, really want this place to be successful! Close to my house, wife will drive me over and pick me up, so can chug a few brewskis from the OUTSTANDING selection...and here comes the "BUT." BUT...the bbq pork sandwich a couple of weeks ago smelled like a wet dog. No kidding...and I'm not a food snob, but I am a manager in the industry, and that ain't cutting it. The salsa needs work...more heat, less tomato flavor. Ignore your personal preferences, your customers are the ones paying your salary. I went in today to watch the NASCAR race...can't hear the tv's for the music (which is a good selection for happy hour, by the way, but let me hear some sports!). Ordered hot wings...they came out tasting spicy bbq, so I sent them back. You know, fix it...they were great 3 weeks ago! The server came back out two minutes later with same wings (including the naked bone I had left from the first one I ate), and said, "These are the hot ones, but they changed the recipe and didn't tell anyone. They are now habenero. I wish they would tell us when they change something." Wow, I am BLOWN AWAY with the lack of concern by management/chef/cook...take some pride, man! Come out of the kitchen, talk to me, ask me what you can do better! I am the one paying for your service; if I don't show up, you don't make money. You're killing me...I want this to be successful, but your "chef" needs to get his head out of his a$$. It's a BAR, not a five star restaurant. Don't try to get fancy with the food, stick with what works. I might try you again in a couple of months if you are still around, but I am going to Buffalo Wild Wings and Hooters for the time being. Went to the Pour House the second week in July hoping to find a great new place in Hermitage to eat. Wrong. There were four adults and one toddler in our party and we were seated quickly but the food order took a L-O-N-G time and when it arrived was sooooo disappointing. Beer was $6.00 and ice tea and coke was $3.00. Total bill was over $70.00 (with tip) and was just not worth it. The wing platter was served under-done and with the sauce on the side. The color of the chicken was blondish white and the server asked if we wanted it dipped in the sauce (yes). It was returned in a few minuted with sauce on the wings but they were still under-done and cold. The pulled pork sandwich had maybe a tablespoon of pork on it . . . good flavor but hardly any meat. The brisket sandwich flavor was OK but meat was very tough. The BLT sandwich was OK (but how hard is it to mess up BLT?) Sorry to say we will not be going back. Hopefully they can improve but not sure it will be in time to save the poor start they have had. read more

I was really excited to try JB's Pour House. The outside look fun and I thought, here is my new bar. I never expected the beer to be so expensive. Like someone said on here, Hermitage is charging Nashville prices. I went on a Sunday afternoon. The waitress told us, we made it just in time for happy hour. Yay!! She told us the prices, which was a dollar off the beer I had chosen. Not great but ok. When I got my bill, I was not happy. I called the waitress over and said, what happened to the dollar off? I thought these were on happy hour. She said she was going to check with the bar tender. He said " There is no happy hour on Sunday". Wow. 4 beers at 6 dollars each. My friends and I come here at least once a week. Love the fact that they had so many seasonal beers like yuengling Oktoberfest and my favorite shock top pumpkin wheat, which I got the last beer of the season out of that keg :) love the wings and the grilled chicken. Salad. Normally I'm a picky wing eater so that's a big compliment coming from me. It's a great happy hour with 1.00 off beer. My only complaint is how UNPROFESSIONAL the bartender is who challenges the guests to chug beer in a contest with him while he chugs Guinness. There's nothing really special about this place. It's an unpretentious, local watering hole. What makes it special is that it does what it does very well. The service is great, I tend to give waitstaff a hard time (not running them ragged, just putting them on the spot about things they say). Our waitress was incredible. She knew the menu, knew the beer, made good recommendations and was generally unflappable. There were kids running around everywhere, so it must be family friendly. I always think prices are too high, I'd rather pay more for something and be happy with the product than the other way around. As others have mentioned, I didn't think the "hot" wings really "popped", but they were high quality chicken and had a good flavor, they just weren't as hot as I would like them. If I didn't live so far away, this would be a regular destination for me. read more

First review ever! Everything was good. Service, food, prices. I wanted to express this to the manager but also comment that the acoustics made the restaurant very loud. He got in my face and the exchange became something I never experienced before. In stead of accepting the compliments and understanding that yes it was loud but there was little they could do at this point. He proceeded to tell me to go back up north because he was a musician and all bars in the south are loud. Excuse me? We went on a Saturday night, expecting to not get a seat....but even with a Vanderbilt game going on and the place crowded with fans, we were seated immediately and a waitress approached us within 2 to 3 minutes. My roommate and I both enjoyed our meals and our beers. Even though our steak came out medium rare instead of the medium well that we ordered, out waitress came over and noticed immediately, took the steak, and returned with what we ordered. I wished I'd asked to see the menu again after I received what I ordered to check it, b/c what I got was not what I ordered. I don't even see what they gave me on the online menu. Unfortunately, I doubted myself and assumed I'd read the menu wrong. I hadn't. I had ordered a buffalo chicken flatbread ("A grilled chicken breast tossed in hot buffalo sauce topped with lettuce, tomato and zesty chipotle mayo."). What I got was flatbread with chicken in it, with lettuce and bleu cheese crumbles. No buffalo sauce, no chipotle mayo. It wasn't supposed to have bleu cheese on it at all. It was unpleasant and tart. They do offer a buffalo chicken sandwich with bleu cheese dressing, but even that isn't what they gave me. They put plain bleu cheese on it, not the salad dressing. Not that it matters. It's not what I ordered. Also, if you order sweet potato fries, they don't provide the special sauce that goes with them. Anyone who knows anything about sweet potato fries knows that they have their own special dipping sauce. They don't go well with ketchup like regular fries. If you want to be treated like an asshole come here and sit at the bar. I have had unpleasant and awkward instances with 2 of the bartenders on two separate occasions! The first not as bad-The bartender assumed I said some rude comment then walked away obviously pissed. When I probed she finally asked me to clarify what I said, which was "can I have a box for this ahead of time." Never had anyone think I would be like that but okay-I blamed myself for the mistake but in the back of my head I'm thinking, do I have dickhead written on my forehead or something? She apologized after, despite me trying to take responsibility. When I thought to come back, almost for my own ego's sake a different bartender was rude and condescending right out of the gate. Asking about the wing special was obviously a mistake, which made her ignore what I asked and repeat her last question, "boneless or regular?" with such contempt and sarcasm I immediately felt unwelcome. When I realized that the attitude was the mode of operation and it was going to keep coming I closed out my tab and ran out after letting her know the reason. Then to boot, I've been harassed by someone obviously having interests in this place over sharing my experience here. read more

Seems they have ran off all the long term servers and the ones they have are sub standard at best. New management is needed because rumor has it you've lost a lot of regulars. Normally I eat here pretty regularly, and I'm normally an advocate of their food. Tonight though was not the case. I ordered food to go for me and my wife. I get home, open the box and get the food ready. While this is nitpicking, we each got a hamburger, and literally 6 french fries. I counted because it was easy to do, and beyond ridiculous. Okay so we got short changed. While that sucks it's not dire. I then go to eat my well done hamburger. I bite into it and get a lovely RAW hamburger. Not medium, not even rare, RAW. I spit it out and pull the meat apart. It's all raw throughout the meat. Great. I had to toss the whole thing. I called up, and the manager did offer to comp me another set of hamburgers but I didn't want to drive 20 minutes each way again for $10 hamburgers. Be prepared, the place is fun, the beer is cold, and the atmosphere is good. But the food is definitely hit or miss. read more

If I could leave ZERO STARS I would. This was the worst experience in my life..... After the worst, most unattentive service I've ever received, sloppily made drinks, and semi-mediocre food.... the waitress added a $10 tip on my card that I didn't authorize, then to top it off the manager tried to argue with me on whether or not i actually left the tip. I actually left a note on the receipt explaining why i did not tip her..... and he still argued with me about it. Which is insane when you consider that I still have my receipt and was willing to show him he STILL tried to argue with me.... I refuse to be made to feel like i'm in the wrong when their waitress tried to STEAL FROM ME!!! Luckily i'm one of those rare souls who still check their bank statement. I did get my money back, but I don't think I will be returning. Shame really considering how close I live. read more

Just enjoyed our first trip to JB's! We sat on the patio and they welcomed our dog to chill with us, which is HUGE because we hate leaving him alone after we're both gone all day while we work. I got the chipotle bbq boneless wings and they were GREAT. Very tender and juicy. My husband got the nachos and loved them as well. Also, the fried pickles were perfect. Very crispy without being over breaded. Beer specials are great with $1 off a large draft selection until 7 pm. This might be our favorite neighborhood spot! Service was fantastic. I wish I could give this place zero stars. This place is an absolute disaster. The outside looks welcoming, with the big spout hanging at the top of the building. You think you are in for a treat, but all the excitement stops at the door. It is loud, and yes when we were there from kids running around and screaming, there is a lot of wasted space, but that's the least of their issues. The TV's and music were just blaring, and with everyone else in the place trying to hear each other, talking even louder, it was dreadful. Next to go wrong was the wait time after our order was taken. It took over an hour just to get our appetizer of potato skins. They tasted as if they were thrown into a microwave; completely soggy and almost a mashed potato...also we had two orders of fried pickles, which ended up tasting like just pouring a salt shaker onto my tongue, somehow only one order came out and it took the other another 15 minutes to come out. Our waitress was very hit and miss as well. Since we weren't being given food right away we had hoped the drink refills would be consistent, since she said the kitchen was backed up and completely overwhelmed; it was still rough on the drinks. Several times throughout the night she would disappear for a long time without returning after we were done with a drink, and then after she came to get our refills, it took her a while to bring them back out again, or brought out the wrong drink and had to go back again. The food... the food was an absolute joke. Menu items being pulled as soon as this place opens due to overwhelming complains, this said to us by the manager on duty. Food either under-cooked, overcooked, over-seasoned, or nothing done at all to the meal item. I can handle bar food, and wasn't expecting a fine dining experience at all, that would be ridiculous, but seriously this should be better than any fast food I could get and it wasn't. They even had almost 2 hours to get it right before sending it all out to us..two hours before we got our main dish... I can get McDonalds in 5 minutes and it was better. They clearly spent too much money remodeling the place, which is still not that nice or well put together, and bought too many tv's and speakers to blare everyone out, instead of putting money into a good cook staff. What is really disappointing is they should have learned from their mistakes, this place had a 'soft' opening for 3 weeks before their grand opening and they clearly are not ready; and mind you the restaurant was barely half full the whole time we were there and they still could not keep up or get hardly anything right. Again to close out after we were all done, several uneaten meals left sitting on the table our waitress came back to do tickets and had to retake our whole order because she couldn't read through her notes the first time she our order that night. If I didn't have a soul we could have all made up stuff to lessen our tab, but we paid our dues and got out of that rathole. I really did not want to waste the words on this review and give them any more of my time, but I want to help keep anyone else from going here at all cost. I ate my buffalo chicken sandwich in four minutes - not because it was delicious but because i wanted to get outta there. The lights are as bright as a k mart, the corn hole boards need to have more distance between them and when you spend six dollars on an "ultimate grilled cheese" because it has avocado and tomato, it needs to have avocado and something other than Walmart American processed cheese on it. I appreciate your efforts, but if this place is going to be run with the same standards of quality as rusty nail, your sales are going to have a freefall after your grand opening. I ate here on a recent trip home. I wasn't really impressed. I was looking forward to my visit since there are not too many options when it comes to places to be able to drink a wide selection of beers in the Hermitage/Mt. Juliet parts of Nashville. The selections of beers were mostly mass produced beers with a relatively small selection of local or non-mass produced beer. I was very disappointed. Food quality wasn't much better. The wings that I ordered tasted like the low end type you can get at Kroger's and heat up in the oven. Service matched the food quality and wasn't that good either. It took a little bit for a server to take our drink & food order. When the food was delivered he just dropped it on the table and didn't say anything such as is there anything else I can get for you? This was awkward. We also had to hunt for a server to get our check. I would say about the only good thing going for this restaurant is that they have a lot of TVs to watch sports on and that there isn't much competition in the area. Super noisy on game nights, but that's not an issue.   I can't tell you our server's name because he didn't tell us.   I ordered a beer from draft, and my wife ordered a bloody mary.  We also ordered fried pickles as an appetizer, my wife ordered a.bacon cheese burger and I ordered the american, both temped to medium.     My beer arrived within 5 minutes and was icy cold.  That's the end of the positives.  The bloody mary hadn't arrived after 15 minutes so we asked again at 20 minutes and when our pickles arrived 30 minutes after our order.   Our server was oblivious.  At 45 minutes, our burgers arrived, and we asked yet again. for the bloody mary.   Finally got it.  The fried pickles were a mushy mess, dripping with grease/oil and the batter was falling off.  The burgers were literally a piece of charcoal, and couldn't be cut with a knife and the fries were soggy.  I had to break the burger patty apart with my hands.  Our server took the burgers back for a remake, but after another 45 minutes with no food we asked for the check.  The manager came over and apologized and handed us a $20 gift card.  Not sure we'll be back. read more

Ok... so I've read the reviews below and feel the need to give a more positive review. We first went about two weeks ago, met some friends there as our first stop on a local pub crawl. Yes, we did agree the drink prices were a bit high, but we immediately loved the atmosphere. It was clean, open floor plan, outside seating was available, our service was fantastic, tv's at every angle so no matter where you sit you are able to enjoy a variety of programs they are showing, our fried pickles were good(not great, but I am spoiled because I think my boyfriend makes the best fried pickles ever), but most importantly it seemed like a place that is family friendly, but also a cool place to bring friends to hang out. Our next visit was last Friday night, August 10th. We sat outside because the weather was nice, ordered drinks that came quickly, perused the simple but appetizing sounding menu, and ordered our food. Our waittress was friendly and attentive... we never had to wait an unreasonable amount of time for anything. I ordered the turkey burger and my boyfriend ordered the brisket tacos.... both were very good... for bar food. My burger was flavorful and a good sized portion, his brisket was cooked perfectly with lots of flavor and extremely tender (the only complaint was the fat he had to remove, but anyone who knows anything about brisket will admit it can be a fatty meat, and even after removing it, there was still a ton of meat on each taco), and for our sides he got the ranch beans and I got the potato salad. Now, this would be the one area we would (and did on our next visit) complain about. While they tasted great, they were too small in portion size. However, our overall experience was great. Nice evening, good food, good service, live music, and decent prices for the food. Our next visit was last night, August 14th. It was not crowded, which was no surprise for a Tuesday night, so we were able to choose our own table. We sat in.a section belonging to a waiter my boyfriend struck up a conversation with while I visited the ladies room, and he was fantastic. I ordered the Mushroom Swiss Burger and he ordered the sandwich of the day... a grilled chicken with bacon and thin curly onion rings.... wow, it was good. My burger was also very good. His side was a pepper jack man n cheese, which was very tasty, and I once again got the potato salad... both were again too small and we decided to ask for the manager to give our thoughts on the subject... He came almost immediately and listened to what we said and then told us they have a board in the back where they write down all the feedback from customers and address it every day. We weren't the first to say something about the size of the sides, and it would definitely be looked at. So, overall we have had nothing but positive and fun experiences at The Pour House. It is a bar and grill, folks. Don't expect five star food and service. We would recommend this place to any of our friends and family, and I hope you will too. We need more locally owned restaurants in this area and the only way they will succeed is for us to support them and give them feedback to help them improve. The Pour House has proven to us they are willing to listen to their customers, and that alone secures my loyalty. Give it a try... keep an open mind for a new restaurant still working out the kinks. read more

After reading the bad reviews of JB's Pour House, I was reluctant to even stop by for a beer, much less order some food. However, my wife and I decided to give it a shot. What we discovered was a very pleasant surprise. Expecting the worst, we discovered the best. Granted we wandered in on a Sunday after lunchtime. But I have to say that the service staff were very friendly. The beer selection was excellent. And the food was WAY better than expected. I can honestly say that I've not had better brisket in Nashville, and the onion rings were great! I'm guessing that the weeks that have passed since the first round of reviews have all been spent improving all aspects of the Pour House. Knowing what I know now, I'd say give it shot. read more

After being a regular customer to this bar over the past year, I would say this is the best bar in the Hermitage area. Although the food is only average, the atmosphere and staff are great. They also have a great assortment of draft and bottled beer that are regularly changed out according to the season or what's popular at the time. read more

We LOVE this place! I was just there Sunday night for some drinks. Don't pay attention to the old reviews. The drink prices are cheaper than buffalo wild wings and they have way more drink specials every day including the weekends! I love the pour house burger and they're wings are seriously good! Big with lots of meat and juicy. This are everywhere.. UFC fights, hockey everything! Their service, food and prices have gotten better the longer they have been open. The service is really good too.
