My first time to Hampton beach. This place definitely fit the vibe of this town. I would bring my delinquent cousins here not my grandmother type vibes. We came for drinks and got the tower, super strong... gets the job done. Socially distanced and all, had a little tiff with the waitress but she was stressed because a local got punched. Actually 3.5 stars. Seafood was very fresh: we had the fried full belly clams, shrimp, and scallop plates. Too many fries and cold slaw not great. Place is noisy and a bit greasy. Can recommend the seafood if you have a hankering for fried. read more

Stopped by earlier tonight and ordered some food to go. I was amazed by how affordable all of the prices were for seafood that was right along the beach. It was basically half the price of going to Markey's or Brown's. I got a lobster roll with some fries and a box of fried whole clams. The lobster roll was on a toasted hot dog bun and barely filled with any lobster... it was a pretty dry lobster roll. Basically plain shredded lobster on bread with no mayo or anything mixed into it. It was then tossed into a container half filled with fries. It didn't even fill the whole container. Same thing with my "box" of fried clams. It came in one of those little hamburger-sized containers and the box was only HALF filled with fried clams... it maybe had like 7-8 pieces? When eating the fried clams, the whole clam (with belly and all) basically disintegrated in my mouth immediately-- there was no chew or anything to it. A clear sign that the clams had been frozen prior and just reheated. As if I could have bought a package of frozen fried clams at the store and made them myself in the microwave. Nothing here was fresh and the portions were tiny. Maybe good if you're looking for a quick, cheap fix for seafood, but keep in mind you get what you pay for. read more

I only need 1 word to justify my one star. And that word is Margarine. Yes, that nasty oily fake butter substance. That is what the served me with my lobster. WTF?!?! Who does that? That's not a thing. It's like giving a Vermonter table syrup with their pancakes. I took one nasty bite and spit it out. I knew immediately it wasn't butter. When I went up to the counter I asked what it was and the worker said butter. I asked again, they said butter. Then I said it tastes like oil, WHAT is it? Then they said oh, sorry it's margarine. They offered to give me real butter, brought it out when my lobster was basically cold and then I broke the tail off and a huge amount of purple black gel came pouring out of it and unpacked it up and left. The food is so sad and sure it's cheap but you're still paying way too much for nasty seafood that taste like someone went dumpster diving for it. Site of the former McDonald's serves good seafood at beach prices. Order the scallops and clams combo with fries and a drink at the counter and Sat in the side bar area and the food only took a few minutes. Scallops were big and fresh and the clams tasty as well. So I had shared a lobster roll from this place (I only ate 1/2) & fries. The lobster meat seemed off. Not the high quality you would expect from a $20 lobster roll. I wasn't sure if it was all 100% lobster or imitation that's sometimes used since lobster is so pricey. I had severe food poisoning from this meal that lasted 8 days. Went there last night for the first time. Two of us got the fish and chips while another had the lobster roll. The lobster roll had 2 sizes, small and large, he opted for the large, 1lb for $19. It was just lobster on a hotdog roll, no mayonnaise and fries. It was ok, nothing outstanding. The fish and chips were $10, it came with small chunks of white fish and fries. I'd say they had about 6 pcs of fish, about half the size of a golf ball and a handful of fries. I've definitely had bigger portions and better fish. Would I go back? Maybe, but maybe it's still a learning curve because they're still new. read more

Stopped and had supper there on 07/17/17. The Restaurant was originally a McDonald's that turned into JB' Seafood. We had a 15% coupon from the place we were staying. The seafood was fair but the portions were small. There is no atmosphere and lacked service that is noted at other places in the area. read more

Awful on so many levels. My hot lobster roll was so dry I am not sure when it was cooked or how long it was in a holding pan. When the soda did not work (no co2) I asked if they could change it the attitude I got was off the charts. I think Hampton Beach would have been served by keeping the Golden Arches. Actually this place is actually better than it looks. Had a variety of seafood and burgers. You could order at the window or from the bar on the side. Food was fresh good and hot. The prices were reasonable. Compared to the other restaurants a at the beach it was cheap. The bar offers $3.00 beers all day every day and they had a good selection to choose from. The mixed drinks were also probably the cheapest as well and they were good size and not skimpy. The bartenders were welcoming and friendly and treated you like you were a regular. This place will definitely be a stop every time we go to Hampton. read more

Due to limited reviews, I was skeptical about trying it but, I did. You can still feel the old McDonald's when you walk inside. Still set up pretty much the same as Micky D's was. Ordered the Haddock sandwich with fries and a salad topped with lobster. The salad was huge and the fish was twice the size of the bun. Overall it was a positive experience. Place is the cleaniest looking joint on ocean boulevard. I like the scalops and haddock. Theres a bar on the side. You order it fast food style with the screens on top with te prices and the 3 registers ready to take your order. I just wish they were somewhere else on the beach. This was a McDonalds. First of its kind on the whole UNITED STATES EAST COAST. they closed it down in 2017. the 50 year old restaurant opened in 1977 and it was on the books as the oldest mcds on a boardwalk. Not anymore. That makes me sad. Historic things should be kept. Also dont know why mcds corp would put it up for sale since it sould thousands of orders daily on summer time. I wish people would stop their hate on mcdonalds and walmart and etc, hardworking people need those places to eat you know. Sorry JB youre my new favorite place but you couldnt have picked a worst location. should have went to that little jacks old location, prime spot down the beach with plenty of parking just sitting there rotting around. read more

The inexpensive beer ($3 each, all day) tempted me at lunchtime July 2. I stayed for lunch and ordered the whole-belly fried clam plate. Was served quite quick and was pleased with the amount of clams, their large size, no grit, and cooked just right. The french fries were freshly fried, hot, and filled the plate. (I would have preferred fewer fries and some coleslaw, my only criticism.) Will definitely go back for another meal! read more

Very good fried scallops, fish and calmari! Prices reasonable for a tourist area, with decent portions. Coleslaw is also surprisingly good.
