a croissant with a bite taken out of it

Finally got my hands on a cronut. I caught them at the farmers market one Sunday (South of the James) and that cronut is the devil. I will never unbig my back eating these. They were freshly cooked so it was warm when I took my first bite. It was so light, airy and it just melts it your mouth. They are a little on the pricey side but worth every dime!

My wife got me some chocolates from JC Desserts for Valentine's Day, and they are absolutely stunning and so delicious. The flavors are to die for. She ordered them online for pickup from the shop in Hatch Kitchen. The whole process was easy and the owner brought the chocolates out to us when we picked them up. If you haven't tried JC Desserts and you're looking for something sweet for your sweet something, check this place out! Or, maybe if you just want to treat yourself!

Lawd is this what heaven feel's like. Yes our greedy a$$es pigged out without pulling away from the front door, Don't Judge me! I have had CRONUTS but this is some next level baking! I hung with one of the areas food bloggers @we_hungryaf and they enlightened me to two new places. These kids know some good eats!! They were not wrong. They ordered half a dozen of the variety box with caramel pecan, apple pie w/almond streusel, vanilla glaze, pumpkin spice glaze, and cinnamon sugar. The owner hand delivered it to our grubby hands, I mean car. We attempted to annihilate the CRONUTS but they were so filling, that all we could do is taste each, lol. The CRONUTS were freshly made, smelled amazing and were still warm. The owner advised us how long we should heat them up. He was concerned that they would be cold and not as enjoyable, as if they were going to make it home. FYI when ordering make sure you search for a pickup option, if you're picking up. The @we_hungryaf placed the order and their order would have been delivered had they not communicated with the business. The customer service was excellent and pleasant which makes the experience even better. I say you can taste evil in food, but not this deliciousness, it tasted like heart and soul! Every bite was more heavenly than the next! Don't listen to me ( although my palate is on point), but these are some of the best CRONUTS I have had in Richmond. Don't sleep on JC's! I'm in the process of looking into the candy they prepare. Gym time!

Ohhh, cronuts, I think I'm addicted! Lmaoo The cronuts were juicy and crispy. We couldn't stop eating. We were full from taking a bite of each cronut. My favorite was caramel pecan and pumpkin spice glaze. House Cinnamon Sugar Blend, Vanilla Glaze, Pumpkin Spice Glaze, Caramel Pecan, Apple Pie with Almond Streusel .

I bought this tin of Cavendish and Harvey Sour Cherry Drops last week. And just like you when I got home I put the tin up and tossed the receipt. When I opened the tin yesterday I found the seal had been punctured. I pulled the seal and the Drops had all melted together as you can see in the pictures. My wife, ever concerned for my well-being, advised me to not eat the candy. So I returned to the store, ready for an exchange or refund. They REFUSED to do either. Oh they had their reasons, number 1 among them was I didn't have my receipt. The store manager could not reach the owner whom I offered to talk to, or I could come back some other time and maybe catch up with the owner. So I won't tell you not to shop there, times are difficult for everyone these days. But I will not shop there again and when I need a lemon drop for a long car ride I'll make do with a bag of them from Walmart or CVS. There just sugar and flavor after all. But I will suggest that you look closely at every purchase you might make from that store and don't toss your receipt until you do. Or maybe they'll treat you better than they treated me. Or maybe not. You won't know until it's too late, It's a crap shoot. No place to post the pictures, but it's ycuky

I had been here once before and ordered my friend a birthday mini fruit tart and myself a cake. I remember wishing the cake was a bit more moist and curious to try other desserts. I'm so happy I returned. This time I ordered the turtle cheesecake slice and a passionfruit tart for myself. I devoured these sweets. They were so yummy. They have more of a takeout situation here, so I ordered my sweets to go and ate them at home. It's pretty tiny shop. I loved the cheesecake the most. The passionfruit tart was fun, although with passionfruit as the base flavor I wish there were more tropical topping and then maybe a plain custard one with the berries. It was still tasty. I'd recommend stopping by if you're in the area looking for some dessert.

The cake I had was a red velvet cake beautifully decorated, but a little heavy and sugary for me al thought I usually eat cake from asian bakeries. The toffee cookie was also amazing! Inside the display cases were beautiful, the only downside is there isn't much room and you can't really sit in there! Service was good, very welcoming! I'm definitely coming back for the passion fruit tart, the other tarts do not compare and i'm so so serious about it .....

I love the decor, and the seating area feels appropriate for the space. It still has that community, shared vibe that I remember. The baristas are so nice and answered my questions without hesitation, even with a line. We tried the turmeric ginger latte, both caffeinated and decaf, and wow, really good. As always, their pastries are amazing. I also really appreciated that they asked if the almond horn was for a gluten allergy so they could change their gloves. It's the little things!

One of the things I instantly noticed on the menu was their vegan breakfast sandwich with a homemade bean-based sausage patty. I got myself an egg and cheese sandwich on a buttermilk biscuit (delicious, by the way) with pepper jack cheese, veggies (tomato, lettuce, and avocado), and for a dollar extra, one of their vegan breakfast sausage patties. I was immediately impressed by how flavorful the patty was- you get a crispness upon the first bite and then the creaminess of the beans afterwards. It was absolutely incredible in a way I can't even describe. I also got the Thai iced coffee, which tasted as sweet as a typical Thai iced tea, yet in coffee form. I may only be spending a few days in Richmond, but I'm absolutely coming back next time I'm here to try more things. DIVINE! The woman behind the counter was super sweet too. If you're in Richmond, run here!
