Two word review: Honest, Responsive…read more This is my THIRD consecutive 5-star review for Rocklin Heating & Air. In the last 10 or so years in the area I've called RHA, one other place because they could get me to faster - had a bad experience, waited for RHA had an amazing experience, and decided they're going to be my ride-or-die for HVAC. I called them at 7am and by 11:30am their tech had fixed and tested everything and off to help someone else. Yesterday was the start of a heat wave and ... our AC unit quit on us. I called RHA as soon as they opened this morning at 7am, asked for Joe in particular, and they gave me a window between 10am and 12pm. Joe texted ahead of time at 10:30, diagnosed the blown capacitor, swapped it out, cleaned things up a bit, tested the coolant, answered a bunch of questions, and was on his way in just under an hour. The diagnostic was $129 and the capacitor was $186 today. By a complete and total coincidence, I had been running some experiments with home temperature sensors for the last week. You can literally see on these pictures exactly when the AC unit stopped working - and when RHA saved our bacon. The "other" place I called years ago only had a $79 diagnostic charge, but wanted to rip out and replace the entire HVAC system - and claimed we were taking our lives in our own hands by not getting it fixed with him immediately. Joe and RHA took care of everything for the diagnostic. Yeah, you can probably find someplace to charge you less for the diagnostic or maybe less for the part, but when your house is boiling hot / freezing cold, you want to be able to call on someone you can trust to help you out - and not take you for a ride.

They were able to get someone scheduled immediately for the next day! So, earlier this morning, our technician (Frank) called with a heads up for his arrival and showed up right on time. He was very polite and got to work right away. Turned out to be a bad capacitor. Frank had everything we needed in his truck and was able to swap it out in no time. I had used them earlier in the year for a minor inspection and remembered how helpful and honest Alex D was. At that time, they told me the work I was considering was not urgent, even though it meant I did not move forward with the project. They responded very quickly and had Alex D. at our house by 8:30 that evening, only about an hour after I contacted them. Alex was excellent. He found an issue that had somehow been missed by another HVAC company that had been performing routine annual inspections on our system. He was courteous, respectful, informative, and very genuine throughout the entire visit. He explained what he was seeing in a way that was easy to understand, answered all of our questions, and made sure we were comfortable before doing any work. We never felt pressured or like we were being sold something we did not need. Alex clearly takes pride in his work and in making sure the customer understands what is happening. After both experiences with Cronus, they have definitely earned our trust and will be the company we call moving forward.

They were so responsive and helpful in 2022, even after hours, and now I've been trying to speak to someone for days, left multiple voicemails, sent multiple emails, and no one is calling me back. I came to the address listed on Vernon street and it's an empty building. I will see what else I can do but I feel so ripped off at this point I might just see what a lawyer says about this. Last time I spoke to them earlier this year, they said my unit was still under warranty but how does that even help if they won't call me back to fix it while the warranty is still valid? If they call me back I will update my review.

They sent their Plumber Anthony out the same afternoon and he was able to repair the leak which was in a waterline and I did not have to replace the whole water heater. He could very easily have told me I needed a whole new unit, but he was so honest and told me it only needed a repair which save me a lot of money. I highly recommend this company. I met with the owner Mathew McGuire, who I found to be friendly, sincere, and someone who is vested in his business, his people, and working to ensure that he wins life-long customers with every job. I had done a lot of research with AI, so I knew my options well (that research was very helpful and I'd highly recommend doing it in advance of having people out to give you pricing). I had no intention of beating up each of the companies, I simply asked for their best pricing and options. I used AI to carefully review each bid in detail, including the proposed equipment and how appropriate it was for our home. All companies gave solid bids, but there was a very large spread between the highest and lowest. That usually concerns me, but all my research about American Energy indicated that they were a solid, competitive company. It was a big investment, but I ended up converting to an electric heat pump and also getting all our ducting replaced. We have a 2750 sf single-story home with 17 vents, so the new ducting was nearly as much as the system itself. That said, the ducting has made so much difference in terms of balancing the temperature throughout the house, which was a real probelm with the old system. The new system is extremely quiet and maintains a consistent temp throughout the day--and we've had some extremely hot days since it's been installed. American Energy's installers were all very friendly and professional, and did a great jobs with prep and clean-up each day they were here (the initial install took two days). There were a couple minor issues after the install was complete which required two follow-up appointments. One was a equipment issue that required Carrier to provide a replacement part, but Carrier was responsive and quickly provided it. For the additional follow-up appointments, their scheduling person as professional, courteous, and accommodating. In fact, she went out of her way over a weekend to re-schedule an appointment that was supposed to happen on a Monday morning. To me the company has to be a good one to A.) get that kind of diligence out of employees, and B.) to keep those kind of employees. In the end, I'm extremely happy with the system and will gladly subscribe for their annual maintenance contract.

He wasn't able to fix it so he came back the next day with a part that didn't fix the issue. Another part was ordered that took days to arrive. Finally Kevin's back but this part doesn't work either. Each time he came out, he tried so hard to get it working. Now it's a Friday after hours & he doesn't want to leave me without air so he keeps trying. I've never had anyone so determined to fix the issue & was able to get it working! I was so thankful & impressed with him. To top it off, I got a call a few days later saying they would be refunding me the first part that didn't fix it. I hope I never need their services again but if I did I'd definitely call them.

When I phoned them they mentioned they don't come down as far as the East Bay, but told me they would find out who did service the Bay Area from the manufacturers rep who was on leave at the time. True to their word they phoned me a week later with the information. I have been really skeptical of all HVAC companies in the past 5 years. I have been burned by so many HVAC techs and wasted so much money. 4 different companies went through with different shadiness levels giving me different answers for the same HVAC issue. Every company kept telling me my freon was low and i most likely had a leak. One company even told me to just replace my brand new system cause "it was from China" The Jaguar tech (Jeff) definitely gave me some disappointed head shakes at previous work but was the only one to truly put his head down, work, and diagnose the root cause of the issue. He checked every part of the system before he gave me an answer on what he believed was wrong. After the diagnosis he detailed every part of the HVAC unit (and attic unit) and explained to me what he was looking for, what he found, and what he believed was the answer. I never felt like he was up-selling me. It wasn't even a freon issue to begin with and the filter drier needed to be replaced. After another visit and a 4 hour procedure my HVAC unit has been running smoothly all Summer 2026. I will seriously only call this company from now on.

From the original install, they did not install some pieces right and have had a slow water leak, which now I have water damage that has been there for a few years, that I just discovered and need to get fixed. 2. I have called them 2x over the past 2 weeks. They haven't answered the phone, and they haven't called me back from the voicemails I've left. Update: Now that I left a Yelp review, the the office person called me back, claiming that I didn't call, and I didn't leave any voicemails. I told her again that I did, and she denied receiving either a call or voicemail. So I explained the problem of a water leak, and she said, "you didn't mention anything about a water leak in your voicemails." So obviously she did get them. Update: I spoke to one of the owners today about the necessary repair that I originally requested, which he claimed that a leaking pipe is normal, and quoted some plumbing terms that he obviously doesn't fully understand in order to try to detract from the main problem and try to avoid taking responsibility for their negligence. The sad thing is that they came out to look at the problem, the fix that I proposed was a $2 fix that would have taken 15 minutes, but they did something else and are trying to charge me $163 for unauthorized work. There is also a matter of damaged caused from the leak they caused, but I was willing to discuss the remedy to come to an amicable solution. Instead, the owner yelled at me, tried claiming that I was a liar, and refused to have a peaceful conversation about how to get this resolved. Based on my experience with the employees and owner, I wouldn't recommend them.
