I would like to say that for the original install, my dad was happy with how it went. The problems that I need to point out are as follows. 1. From the original install, they did not install some pieces right and have had a slow water leak, which now I have water damage that has been there for a few years, that I just discovered and need to get fixed. 2. I have called them 2x over the past 2 weeks. They haven't answered the phone, and they haven't called me back from the voicemails I've left. Update: Now that I left a Yelp review, the the office person called me back, claiming that I didn't call, and I didn't leave any voicemails. I told her again that I did, and she denied receiving either a call or voicemail. So I explained the problem of a water leak, and she said, "you didn't mention anything about a water leak in your voicemails." So obviously she did get them. Update: I spoke to one of the owners today about the necessary repair that I originally requested, which he claimed that a leaking pipe is normal, and quoted some plumbing terms that he obviously doesn't fully understand in order to try to detract from the main problem and try to avoid taking responsibility for their negligence. The sad thing is that they came out to look at the problem, the fix that I proposed was a $2 fix that would have taken 15 minutes, but they did something else and are trying to charge me $163 for unauthorized work. There is also a matter of damaged caused from the leak they caused, but I was willing to discuss the remedy to come to an amicable solution. Instead, the owner yelled at me, tried claiming that I was a liar, and refused to have a peaceful conversation about how to get this resolved. We thought there was a problem with the A/C unit but Adam diagnosed actually having an A/C air distribution problem in the ducting which Adam was quite able to correct in short order. He was very capable and professional while understanding the system completely. He also corrected an attic fan issue to help vent excessive attic heat. Our A/C went out in the middle of summer. I initially called our home warranty company, who sent out their own HVAC company to investigate. This other company came back and told the home warranty company our condenser needed replacing, and one coil in the furnace. The unit/brand the home warranty company wanted to use for replacement was inferior quality, so I opted to take the credit from the home warranty company instead of replacement. The original HVAC company then told me that both the furnace & condenser needed replacing and quote a much higher amount than they quoted to the home warranty company (a different story than they told my home warranty company). I asked them about it, and they said they were "doing what's best for the customer". Not likely. Here is the part where A&M came in to save the day.... I contacted them and they came out quickly to provide me a quote, and told me up front that both condenser and furnace needed replacing. (Not a surprise here...both were older units). After an unpleasant experience with another company, I called A&M to ask for a quote to repair or replace my system. Our air conditioning had been seriously lacking in performance, and the system was very old. Adam, Matt and Traci were awesome. Adam gave me straight forward information and a connection to someone who could do a HELOC for us. We locked down a loan and we're placed on their schedule for a few weeks out. In the meantime, they let us borrow a portable unit and even delivered and installed it for us. Tracy in the office got hold of Matt and steered him our way for his last call of the day. He was training a new tech and walked him through the diagnostics on our 1985 TRANE. Patient and through guys. Bottom line : Three hours from problem to solution. They quickly found the problem , had the parts to fix it, never tried to up sell things we didn't need, and charged very reasonable prices. Had an AC service and repair today. Great experience! The technician showed up with a mask on, as well as booties to keep my new carpet clean and was very friendly. He reviewed my concern promptly and, because my unit is on the roof, took pictures to show me what he was seeing and to demonstrate what needed to be repaired, then provided a reasonable quote on-the-spot to get the work done. At the end of the appointment, he walked me through the various measurements he did in order to determine the health of my system and explained where there were potential issues. He did not pressure me to perform any additional work but explained the potential impacts of some things he found. Of the three companies I called they spent the most time in the attic analyzing current system and identifying the improvements. When part of our AC system failed, our home warranty company sent out another heating and air conditioning company that would do a patch job for a lot of money. Adam from A and M came out and would have done the same work for hundreds less, but also gave us a free quote for options to redo our old mismatched system. We opted to do a complete system overhaul that included a new gas hookup, added duct work replacement and items to include a filter/dryer in the coolant line as well as a water pan shut off mechanism to prevent moisture leaks into the house. Most of the extras would not have been offered by another company charging more. I met Matt while house sitting in Sacramento - told him of my issues in Woodland and he said no problem, we go to Woodland. He knew my system and what they are notorious for. He suggested a few fixes, and knew prices of parts and labor off the top of his head. I called on a Thursday and got a Monday appointment. He showed up within the time window, explained what he was doing, showed me reading results from the unit after testing different parts. Cleaned out the debris, washed down the coils, removed the wasp nests, and determined everything was running at textbook levels. What a relief. Also gave a 30 day no charge to come back if there was any other issue. Matt has serviced the HVAC unit in our Antelope rental house for more years than we have owned it. He's very good at what he does and his prices can't be beat. Now that he's in partnership with Adam, we asked if they would come take a look at an HVAC unit in a condo we're thinking about buying and give us a candid assessment of it's condition.
