Great service! It's hot August and I return from vacation & no A/C! I was able to get Kevin out the next day. He came when he said & if running late kept me updated which I appreciated. He wasn't able to fix it so he came back the next day with a part that didn't fix the issue. Another part was ordered that took days to arrive. Finally Kevin's back but this part doesn't work either. Each time he came out, he tried so hard to get it working. Now it's a Friday after hours & he doesn't want to leave me without air so he keeps trying. I've never had anyone so determined to fix the issue & was able to get it working! I was so thankful & impressed with him. To top it off, I got a call a few days later saying they would be refunding me the first part that didn't fix it. I don't often leave reviews, so when I do it's because I'm super impressed with the service. I live in the East Bay and was trying to find a company that deals with Fujitsu AC issues still under the manufacturers warranty. Chat GPT recommended Kendrick as the number 1 company. When I phoned them they mentioned they don't come down as far as the East Bay, but told me they would find out who did service the Bay Area from the manufacturers rep who was on leave at the time. True to their word they phoned me a week later with the information. Very disappointed with Kendrick Heating and Air. I gave them thousands to fix my AC before, and it's been working fine, however my heater had an error code this time. When I first called the quote was $89 diagnostic and they told me if a repair was needed the $89 would go to my repair if a repair was needed. After telling them what type of heater/AC unit I had, they said my heater unit was complex, and that the diagnostic would be $250 and if any repair were needed the $250 would not contribute to the cost of the repair. $250 is quite expensive to have a guy come out and diagnose a problem. Especially in the beginning of the phone call I was quoted with $89 and it went all the way up to $250. I asked them what if it was a simple problem, would they still charge me $250? The guy on the phone told me if it is simple why are you calling us? Very rude. Instead of giving this greedy company my money, I took the time and actually was able to fix the error code on my heater on my own, so in fact if Kendrick, it would have been a huge waste of money. There are a lot of repair companies out there, Kendrick customer service is quite rude, I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

They came out on Tuesday and quickly completed diagnostics. After discussing what it would take to get the old unit going again, we decided it was time to go ahead and get new system. The installation manager reached out to us to see if his crew could come Tuesday afternoon to start demolition of old unit. I recently had my heating/cooling system serviced as part of the ongoing preventive maintenance program recommended by Kendrick. Jacob arrived right on time, put his booties on and proceeded to complete his preventive maintenance, when completed, we sat and Jacob went through all that he had performed. My system is approximately four years old and has performed flawlessly, it has outperformed the old system by leaps and bounds. What can I say. From owner to our technician, Tyler, the service was exceptional. I have an older unit that uses R22 refrigerant. Our AC unit went down the first day of a recent 100F+ heat wave and with 3 young kids we were in big trouble. We called Kendrick at about 5pm and they came as they soon as they could the next day (just as it was getting hot). We called 5 other AC Repair companies and only one other responded with a much later appointment date. When Jordan arrived he was professional and well prepared with PPE when he entered into our home. He quickly diagnosed the issue. The capacitor was down (swollen) and the connections in our safety breaker box were loose and melted the plastic housing. In short, Jordan was able to get our AC up and running, replaced our breaker box, tested our entire system (including inspected our HVAC system in the attic) and had suggestions on keeping our system running efficiently. I found this company to be twice as expensive as other companies. Please get other quotes. The salesman did one of those quotes ~ if it was my air conditioning I would change the part~ which it probably didn't need changing. The part cost me over $300, I got quotes after the fact from 2 other reputable companies and they charged between $120 and $190. I also spoke with a contractor friend who said it's a small part that you just can do by yourself with a simple screwing the part in the unit and taking the old one out. The part itself cost $79 on my receipt and the rest of the money was labor, that's why I asked my friend if it was a hard piece to put in and he said no. If it was a difficult repair I would not be writing this review. read more

I contacted Kendrick Heating & Air for an AC tune up. They were one of the few companies that had availability for a tune up at the height of summer. For that reason, I didn't shop around much. Had I, I would have discovered that other providers offer HVAC tune ups for $30 - 40 cheaper. The technician cleaned and recharged the system as expected. He advised that the AC system is leaking since they needed to put ~4 lbs of coolant back in the system. No problem. My issue comes from the recommendation to put dye in the system to discover where the leak is. They would then schedule an appointment a couple weeks out to come back and use UV lights to find the leak. This dye costs $200... Fast forward a couple weeks when the receptionist calls to schedule the follow up, I'm now being told that the follow up appointment to find the link would be an additional $250. Excuse me, what?? There was no conversation of an additional expense when the dye was discussed. So you're telling me it costs $450 to FIND a leak and that's before any repair costs?? Talk about price gouging. These folks weaseled $200 out of me by not being upfront about the pricing of their services. I want others to be aware of my experience. I will not be using Kendrick again in the future. read more

I just had Tyler out for an A/C maintenance. This was the 1st time that I've used Kendrick Heating & Air. As they say, you cannot make a 2nd first impression, and Tyler hit it out of the park. He couldn't have been more courteous and pleasant...he even put up with my dog needing to do his standard meet&greet at the door! Tyler's work was great...did everything that I was hoping he would do, and then some. Checked our A/C units, cleaned the filters, and then went over everything that he did plus what we might expect, given that our units are 17 years old. Fortunately, he felt that all was fine for now.
