Signing up was easy and all online, and the website actually explains things clearly. I worked with Donald and he was the best. I'm an anxious almost 40 year old who had never had a license, and he never made me feel weird about that. He was always on time, very calm, and just a genuinely kind person. I had a few lessons with him and it was 100% worth it. I have a lot of driving anxiety and test anxiety, and he gave feedback in a way that didn't make me feel worse. Driving started to feel doable, which I did not expect tbh! I hadn't taken a driving test in over 20 years, but I did it! I passed! I have a driver's license now!! I spent years renewing my permit and trying to build confidence but it wasn't happening. Especially because practicing with a spouse or family member is... difficult (iykyk). But this was completely different. My driving was better than I thought, and I actually got comfortable behind the wheel. I really can't thank Donald enough. This genuinely changed my life, which feels dramatic but is also true.

However I found the communication with the owner and the instructor painful at best. Always had to leave a voicemail and wait sometimes days for a call back. I sent a text once to the owner and he called 5 days later saying "don't text, i get too much spam and i don't read them". The driving instructor never replied to a text i sent. It was bad enough that I looked for another driving school. Found another local one with good reviews, was able to book two sessions immediately online (thank you, it's 2024) and the owner called me back just to verify everything i had submitted, super easy. More importantly though, my daughter had her first lesson with the new school and came home with the impression that she learned 10 times as much with this new school instructor than at Ride-on. For two hours the new instructor talked about driving habits, laws, tips, what to expect not only with her test but as a new driver. Not just idle chitchat to fill two hours of time.

Now it was our Son's turn to learn to drive, and of course we turned to Tiarra. Since he is over 18, professional instruction wasn't mandated by the DMV, but we wanted him to learn confidence and safe driving practices. Tiarra was a great teacher for our son, even though he is very different from his sister. Again, Tiarra was great with a nervous new driver, and I could see his confidence increase after each lesson. Something has definitely changed over the past 10 years. My child was not as prepared. My husband and I had to do most of the training. We were expecting A-Plaza to teach/guide my child in the following skills: parallel parking, reversing, etc. Basics- we were hoping they would reinforce what we were also teaching. My child stated they did not help with those skills. My child was to drive wherever the instructor suggested- straight driving. Another note- instructors would be late as well. It looks like many others have a great experience- unfortunately, we're not one of them.
