The service was really nice! The servers were really attentive and kind. The place has plenty of seatings. We got tteokbokki, corn cheese and also did the bbq combo B. The tteokbokki was not spicy at all, but still good. The corn cheese was perfect. They give you a lot for combo B. It's definitely a good serving size for 2 very hungry people. The restaurant is spic and span, huge, clean and obviously new. (Apparently, there was a smaller location before.) The person I presume is the owner, greeted us VERY warmly and kept up the friendly tone throughout the meal, checking in with us frequently. We got seated near the door on some pretty uncomfortable wooden benches that reminded me of benches for bad kids at a school. We got used to them! The only other negative --- we received our drinks promptly but it took at least 30 minutes before he could return to get our order. Once we did order, the food arrived FAST, less than 5 minutes, delivered by a silent but efficient woman. We chose the 2-3 person BBQ combo. It was plenty of food at a really reasonable price I thought, compared to other Korean BBQ's we have visited. In fact, we don't get BBQ usually because it is so costly. It was a special occasion so we went for it. The soup included is spicy and garlicky with nice tofu and green onions. A great start to the meal. There was a huge quanity of meat piled high. We couldn't imagine how much there must be for the 3 - 5 person combo. The woman server got us started and we kept the meat coming, took turns cooking. Everything turned out juicy and tender, and we loved the nice charred bits from the thinly sliced beef. The marinated beef had an excellent flavor. The pork belly stayed juicy even though we didn't exactly know how long to grill it. The sauce that comes with the meal was nice for dipping purposes. Banchan dishes were plentiful, and each one had different flavors. Interestingly, the kim chee was not hot at all. I'm not sure how I feel about that but maybe it is a special non-hot style of kim chee?? The soup was spicier than the kim chee. Our host asked us several times if we will return, and we assured him we would. This man is hustling to further grow his business. So glad I stumbled upon this restaurant during my visit to Oregon! Food was overall so delicious and exceeded my expectations. My thoughts on everything I ordered: Galbi: well marinated with a slight sweetness to it. Paired very well with the rice! So delicious and it was a pretty big portion. I also loved the grilled onions it came with. Yukgaejang: spicy broth! It came with a lot of ingredients like veggies and meat. My only wish is that they gave more noodles! This dish didn't stand out to me in particular, but it was still pretty solid. I absolutely adored the complimentary side dishes they gave! There were kimchi, cucumbers, pasta salad, fish cakes, and veggie salad. Everything was so good and I love that it came with free refills! Staff were friendly and food came out within 10 minutes of ordering. The establishment is pretty big with both booth and table seating. They have the option to do AYCE KBBQ as well. Parking is convenient since there's a free lot within the plaza. As someone who grew up with exceptional Korean food options in LA, I was very impressed with the food offered here! We come here often for Korean BBQ with 7-8 people including a toddler and baby! We usually get the 2-3 people combo and add other meats and appetizers. Service can be slow sometimes but there is a button you can push to call for service! Love the free banchan which you could ask for more as many times as you like! Their new spot is much bigger than the previous one. Space is open with lots of tables and now they do KBBQ as well. We still went for just the regular dishes though but it did seem like they've improved their menu. Portion is much larger than before and all the ingredients tasted very fresh and high quality. We really enjoyed the Bulgogi which was charred perfectly. The Spicy Squid was fresh ans flavorful while the Spicy Chicken with Cheese could have used chicken thigh instead of breast but it's loaded with melty cheese. Tommy, our server, was attentive and friendly. He did such a great job serving our party of five. My Food Recs: * Bulgogi * LA Galbi (Beef Short Ribs) * Daepae Samgyupsai (Thinly Sliced Pork Belly) * Yachae Pajeon (Vegetable Pancake) * Coconut Saewoo (Coconut Shrimp) * Banchan: I can't remember all of them but the side salad, the macaroni salad, and the sweet potatoes were standouts! Really good! Best of all, this place serves ice-cold Coca-Cola in cans! It's always a perfect way to round out such an incredible meal. It goes without saying that I will definitely come back! Finally, here's just a couple of helpful tips: Parking is a little tight because there are neighboring storefronts so keep that in mind if you're driving here. Earlier this year, JCD reopened as a KBBQ spot in the larger space next to their original location (still in the same plaza!). On a weekend evening, this spot could get busy and there might be a wait, but it's definitely worth it! Service here is good, the ambiance is lively, and it's always a good time. This place does NOT offer AYCE, but it's easily become my favorite KBBQ spot in Portland. All the cuts of meat are very good and they have a pretty straight forward menu. Came to their new restaurant and was so impressed at how spacious and modern it looked inside. Came here for a late lunch with my son and he and I enjoyed our meal so much that we plan to come back with our family and try out their KBBQ and other dishes. We ordered the Pork Bulgogi, Mulnengmyun (Cold Noodles) and Mulmandoo (dumplings) and they came with banchan sides. Everything was delicious and flavorful, portions were more than average so I found that it was worth what we paid for. time to celebrate the opening of the newly remodeled and relocated JCD! The new location is in the same shopping plaza but moved toward the corner lot. Inside has changed, multiple large tables and booths with invidual grill tabletops and vents. Same family owned with more staff. Service was friendly and got to our large party with minimal wait. There's also a convenient button to tap when you're ready to order. The food menu is extensive with lots of the previous menu transferred over. Our group ordered prepared entrees instead of bbq'ing ourselves. The galbi was so delicious (recommend ordering a dish for every two people since they disappear quickly ). Chicken bulgogi, dolsot bimbmbap, seafood pancake, japchae, tteokbokki... we had a small feast assembled. The food coma was worth the effort. There's a nice new bar area with LED lights to create a party atmosphere. Love the new spot with all the spacious tables and overall better ambiance. The old location was smaller and packed with customers. Well the new one is packed too but at least there's more space. I am always trying to find a great Korean spot and I think I found the one! JCD is in a plaza but parking spots are limited with the other businesses in the area so I recommend coming during off peak hours. I've been here a couple of times now and each time it's packed and people are waiting to be seated/take things to go. It is a small space so be sure to come extra early if you're in a group larger than 4 people. My usual items to order are the ttbeokki, spicy pork, and pajeon. The three have great flavors and portion sizes that can easily be shared. I enjoy the sauce on the ttbeokki that is on the thicker side which allows the sauce to hold on the chewy rice cakes. The spicy pork is a great protein to get and pair with white rice (yum!) a little oily though. The pajeon is always sooo crispy and the sauce to dip it in is light. I've also tried the black bean noodles and pork broth soup/sundae and those are also great items to try that are not usual items you see on all Korean menus. Service here is friendly and quick to bring any additional banchan that we might have finished. Banchan options are so so but overall really solid with the meal. read more

We waited about 15 minutes to get seated. There are lots of indoor seating so the wait went by quickly. We ordered the cheesy chicken buldak, seafood pancake, spicy squid stir fry, and buddae jjigae. Everything was so delicious. JCD is my favorite Korean restaurant so I was so excited when I found out they expanded. The gold dishes they used for the banchan add a very classy touch. I will definitely be back again and again (will have to try the Korean bbq next time)! Their host was very friendly and welcoming. My only complaint is that the parking lot is always full (because they are so popular) so be prepared to park in nearby lots! read more

Since I'm not a Beaverton regular, I can't tell whether if JCD Korean restaurant had just relocated to the other part of the same plaza, if it's a grand opening, or if the restaurant had been operating for a while. We came here Sunday night on Labor Day weekend and even at 8pm there was a bit of a wait for a party of 4. There seems to be a lot of large parties and celebration when we walked in. We were seated at 830 and tried to order as quickly as we could as we were starving. The restaurant seemed extremely understaffed and we felt bad for the servers as they were running around in a big restaurant. It probably took us over 30 minutes before we received our order. The banchan were also not delivered to our table until our main dishes arrived. We felt bad rushing the staff since the kitchen was probably backlogged, but a lot of tables were doing KBBQ so the cooked items we ordered shouldn't have taken long. I did like the seafood tofu soup (Haemul soondubu) and the glass noodle (japchae) were the highlight of the meal. Portions were on the larger side and we were beyond full sharing 3 dishes among 4 people. There's a lot of potential for the restaurant but really wish they would figure out their staffing issue on the floor as well as in the kitchen! read more

I enjoyed the side dishes and the meat was pretty good, but the service was disappointing. Though, I feel bad saying this because it seemed like there was only one server. Additionally, it seemed like the server knew the other parties provided she was friendlier and more attentive with them. At one point, our grill started smoking really bad. An individual who did not appear to be a server came and helped us, thankfully. I was quite impressed with the development of their new KBBQ restaurant. I appreciated the clean and modern interior design. I moved to Portland several years ago when the previous establishment was still running - I believe it was a Korean home shopping store or something of that nature. The ambiance of the restaurant was clean and reminded me of a KBBQ restaurant that I might see in Southern California, where you find some of the best KBBQ. I am yet to find a KBBQ restaurant in Portland that beats Los Angeles quality and service. I would recommend JCD KBBQ if you're in the area and curious to try it out. My party of 4 put our name down on the waitlist and stood outside to wait. It was maybe a 15-20 min wait since there were a good amount of customers. Someone called out a name from the paper with "4" in it, but didn't bother to call out the name. My bf had to chase him down to make sure he didn't skip us. We got seated near the front, then they cleared a table in the back and had us sit there since there was more room. The inside is quite warm, no AC and outside was 90+ degrees Food: We got a small bossam to share, 2 spicy squid udons, one galbi, and one bulgogi. I only had the first 3 dishes and wow, I absolutely loved them! It was my first time trying bossam, so I didn't know what to expect. All the sauces provided were awesome and it was a nice refreshing snack in the summer heat. The spicy squid udon exceeded my expectations, the sauce had the perfect balance between spicy, sweet, and savory; the onions and squid added the necessary texture change from the udon. Went back here after a few years. They have upgraded the place, now it's big and spacious and you don't have to wait long for your table. I am not sure about the weekends. I think the bbq menu is quite pricey, but they give you a lot of banchans. They did not give me lettuce though. The seafood pancake is still the most crisp I've tried in this area. The soondubu was piping hot and hit. The. Spot. Unfortunately, the galbi meat was a little chewy and tteokbokki was slightly too sweet for my taste but both were still good and maybe just a preference thing.
