I came here last time for the first time and absolutely 10/10. Especially the stir fried squid with pork. The sauce they used was like crack, and I wish I could put that on everything. The old kimchi stew with pork rib also had such a great depth of flavor in the soup. We ordered it this year from DoorDash, and the taste wasn't the same for the stir fry squid (maybe because no pork?), but it just tasted like spice and no umami. This place was recommeded from an aquaintance who frequents this place. Walking in, it seemed like the decor was unfishined. First thought was, not very impressed and hope this place is not a dud. We visited on a Sunday which didn't have much customers. Only one waitress working. She was very attentive and memorized our order without writing it down. Very friendly and answered all our questions. Our order took quite a while to come out and was getting a bit worried... but to be fair, we did order quite a bit (we were hangry). AND THEN IT HAPPENED...Our food arrived sizziling hot. It was fresh and smelled amazing!! Everything came all at once except the Pork Belly. Never had purple rice before so this was an awesome experience. Banchan was great. The Hubby was sold on the Grilled Mackerel and ate the whole thing by himself. He normally doesn't like japchae (my favorite) but he actually really liked it and ate half of it. Our most favorite was the Kalbi you can tell it was marinated and they cooked it to perfection. This is probably one of the best Korean restaurants in the Beaverton area. The food feels authentic while also reflecting some of the newer Korean food trends you'd find in Seoul today. Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and high quality. The service was excellent as well. Our servers were warm, attentive, and made our family dinner feel extra special. One thing that really stood out was their homemade mandoo, which is surprisingly hard to find these days. Both the steamed and pan-fried mandoo were exceptional. The spicy Korean fried chicken was on another level. My daughter is a huge Korean fried chicken fan, and she said it was even better than some restaurants that specialize only in Korean chicken. Wow can't believe I haven't heard of this place until recently and it's competing to be my number one Korean spot in town right now! Place was busy on a random Sunday but staffs were working hard and super friendly. Our food took a bit of time but it's soso worth it. We got a great spread of Seafood Pjeon, Squid and Pork Belly Stirfry, Galbi Tang, and Steamed Eggs. Everything was delicious! You can taste the quality of their ingredients and the love put into making the dishes. My favorite by far was the Galbi Tang. Can't beat the clean, rejuvenating broth with fall-off-the-bone tender beef ribs. It's perfect with the mustard and soy sauce as well. The stirfry also had great seasoning and was full of fresh squid and crispy pork belly. Very generous on the protein. Pajeon was crispy with lots of big seafood bits. Our goal is to try different Korean spots to find the right one we can regularly go. We get random cravings such as naengmyeon or sullungtang. We got the naengmyeon, bulgolgi, and a seafood soondubu. Naengmyeon broth was yums but the only downfall was the noodles, it was all clumped up together. We did take home the broth. Bulgolgi was nothing spectacular and the soondubu was good. Stopped by for a quick lunch on Friday, this place was over half filled, good signs! One girl ran the front of the house, she was friendly and checked on us throughout the meal. The banchan is excellent, the braised beef is something I've not had as a banchan anywhere before and it was delicious. Banchan was overall on the lighter taste side, which I really enjoyed. The beef bone soup was a bit blend, they provided salt and pepper that gave me a chance to adjust that, but it just didn't taste rich. My wife had the tofu stew and made a similar comment. The tteok bokki was good, but didn't really stand out. The pricing here is pretty reasonable, so overall we enjoyed the meal, and would consider coming back again for a casual meal. read more

We were doing some UPS drop offs/grocery shopping, when we noticed a new Korean restaurant that just opened. Intrigued, we happily abandoned our original dinner plans and checked into Hansik Town. The restaurant was small but clean. The staff greeted us quickly and took our order when we were ready. We ordered the beef bone broth (seollantang) and spicy beef and glass noodle soup (yook ge jang) and liked both. However, I was really happy with my beef bone broth as it's flavorful and comforting. My fiancé mentioned that, usually, it's hard to find good seollangtang because it is a subtle dish that can be really bland if not done well. There are places in Korea that specialize only in perfecting it, so he was quite surprised that the one that I ordered was as flavorful as it was. I also really liked the banchan offerings; we even got a mini deep fried pork katsu! Overall, I'm very happy with the bone broth soup and will definitely be back. read more

Their social media ad worked since I came here solely for the seolleongtang (설렁탕). On their menu they call it beef noodle soup. I haven't seen this offered in Portland metro area at Korean restaurants before. So I usually get it when I'm in SoCal. Anyways... this seolleongtang is decent. The broth was creamy and smooth. It came with noodles and thinly sliced beef pieces. Typically this broth isn't salty at all so you can add as much or little salt and pepper as you like and you top it with green onions. What I found surprising was that the soup was already salted enough for my liking. Their mandu was a little disappointing since some of the wrappers were broken after they boiled it. The mandu didn't have much flavor but their dipping sauce made it much better. The banchan was okay, good variety. They have classic banchan like kimchi, radish kimchi, cucumber kimchi, some fish cakes and a celery banchan. The celery was new to me, crunchy and had some salt, and pepper on it. I also enjoyed that they have barley tea for each table which was refreshing. Overall, service was good. I got my order in quickly and food came out within 5 minutes, everything was hot. Extremely slow service today. We waited over 45 minutes for our food. Maybe that is not the norm? Food was so so for Korean food. Not really sure how they got so many five stars. Hubby didn't care for the garlic soy chicken. Just said "it wasn't the best". Dolsot bibimbap was also so so and I'm Korean... rice was nicely charred but egg was overcooked. Lacked seasoning so I gochujang'd the life out of it. Had to ask for another napkin because the server brought us one - to share??? She didn't speak English so she had to get someone else to respond to our requests for another napkin and the tea we never got. Maybe they were just overly understaffed? I'm not sure I'd make the trip back here based on this experience today. Too bad, I'd really like to see more Asian restaurants do well here in the PNW. read more

I've been wanting to try Korean dishes besides Bibimbap and japchae, so that's why I chose Hansik Town. The restaurant did not disappoint! I had a really delicious yukjaejang (spicy beef soup with glass noodles and vegetables--kind of a Korean version of posole), and my spouse enjoyed the tteokbokke rice cakes with vegetables in a spicy and sweet sauce. The rice served with my soup was excellent (a mixture of white and black rice), and the banchan was interesting and tasty. The rice cakes were like eating rolls of mochi (smooth and chewy). The sauce was a little sweet for my taste. We loved the charming robot server that brought the food to our table (but served by the attentive waiter). Throughout the meal we watched a Real Mukbang YouTube video of a girl cooking and eating heaping spoonfuls of Korean food. Truly, a memorable experience! The restaurant itself is located in a small shopping center. It's not huge, has no outside seating, only one booth, but it's quite adequate. Thank you, Hansik Town, for a great meal! It's always good to see new places come into town, especially on the west side. We came here for dinner and left satisfied. It's always good to go with a few people as you can try multiple items. We ordered the kimchi pancake, seasoned chicken, stone pot bibimbap, tofu stew, and hot pot bulgogi. All the items came out at a reasonable time. The hot pot bulgogi was interesting to me as I've never had it. Think bulgogi and soup combined. It was an interesting take. The kimchi pancake was perfectly made, which was still nice and crispy and was not soggy. The seasoned chicken had perfect flavors, and the tofu stew was delightful.
