The restaurant is very accessible with plenty of parking around the building and a wheelchair-friendly entrance. ​Upon entering, I was immediately greeted by the friendly staff. The interior is lovely--very clean and has a great vibe that makes you feel comfortable right away. ​The Meal ​I ordered the Oyster Soft Tofu Stew, which came with a side of rice, a fresh egg, and a variety of banchan (side dishes). ​The Stew: It had a nice spicy kick, but cracking the raw egg into the boiling pot mellowed the heat perfectly. It was delicious and paired wonderfully with the rice. ​The Banchan: While the variety was nice, I found most of the side dishes to be a bit too salty for my personal taste, so I didn't finish them all. ​To-Go: I also ordered a Seafood Scallion Pancake to take home, and the staff was happy to package it up for me. ​Overall, it was a very pleasant solo dining experience with great service. An above par Korean restaurant. First, we were very attracted to the stainless bowls, cups, etc., gotta get some now. The Banchan was fresh and replenished without hesitation. The seafood scallion pancake was a cut above, lovely crisp edges. Galbi, Bi Bim Bap, and Tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) were all worthy. My hubby and I were searching for a family-friendly place to celebrate an occasion (starting a new job, yay!) and Hansik seemed to fit the bill. Slightly more elevated Korean food, but not too fancy that they wouldn't have high chairs for our 15 month old! The atmosphere definitely feels more high end than your average Korean restaurant, and the pricing reflects that too. Service was friendly and prompt, which we appreciated. We ordered the bibimbap with tofu and the thin pork belly ssam set. Both of these were excellent but the bibimbap was the sleeper hit of the night. The tofu comes almost marinated in a sauce and it was just so savory and delicious! I'm normally VERY biased towards meat, but this was one of the best bibimbaps I've EVER had. My daughter ate everything up with delight :) We really enjoyed our experience at Hansik - oh, and we also saw an NBA star dine here at the same time as us, which was super cool! read more

Delicious food! I went for my birthday and it was real nice. The restaurant is a little tucked in but they have a nice vibe to it, with some beautiful Korean decorations. I ordered my favorite yukejang and it was perfectly spicy and beefy. We also ordered the seafood pancake and it was crispy and pillowy. I thought the panchans (small side dishes) were pretty good, some better than others. I tried a few bites of my family pork belly dish and bulgogi, both tasty. This place is right across from my gym at Planet Fitness. I've always wanted to try it and so glad we did. It's a beautiful modern location with lots of parking the restaurant itself is super spacious with very tall ceilings and can easily accommodate large groups. The food is made fresh and very traditional. I love how our food came on some hot plates so it kept things nice and toasty while we ate. We had lunch on Mother's Day. The place is clean and well decorated. The host and waitstaff most charming and greeted us kindly. Our waiter helped us navigate the menu. We ordered oyster soup. It was a clear clean broth and not too much spice. We would have liked a few more oysters in the broth . Next, we ordered 3 meat platters served with lettuce to wrap and also white rice and the traditional condiments. Our meat dishes were tough to eat except for the pork belly which was dry. Finally had the opportunity to try this place, and man do they serve some "tasty eats" along with "excellent service." We first came here on a late Sunday afternoon, right before the evening dinner rush. And I'm glad we did because it sure filled up right after 5pm hit. So here's a little tidbit about this fancy Korean joint called HANSIK: ~ Parking, Dining, & Atmosphere ~ No issues with parking, there were plenty of spaces in the lot. As for dining-in, the place was surprisingly huge. Booths along the wall, with larger family tables around the center. They even had a bar area in the corner with a few tv monitors. When we went, only a few tables were occupied, so we knew we'd likely receive more attention from service. The decor was fairly ostentatious with a mix of woodsy and contemporary. More elegant versus your typical KBBQ or pocha. It felt pretty chill and comforting for the most part. And I'd say it's a good second date type of place. Maybe first, if your date isn't cheap :) ~ The Menu, Banchan & More ~ With our second visit here, I did notice a change in their menu. A clear sign that they rotate and offer new items, in which I don't mind. With most entrées, they serve your typical six to eight different banchan, some hot clay pots, cold noodle bowls, and bibimbap. Now here's what we've tried: - Mandu, fried dumplings for only $10. A filling appetizer, so don't eat it all at once! - Lotus Shrimp Sandwich ($16), mmm mmm! These were recommend by our server Tyler, and man what a mouthwatering suggestion it was. Thanks Tyler! - Braised Short Ribs in a Clay Pot ($60), yes $60 and YES we had to try their best item on the menu. I mean the pot was larger than my face. It's definitely meant for sharing with two or more people, so I get the price value of the dish. I say it really is one of their best items on the menu. The beef was simply tender and luscious! Big 'not too fatty' rib bone cuts too! Took it home and had leftovers for a couple of days. Worth it imo. - "SSAM" green leaf Set with KBBQ Short Ribs ($39) which was made just right the first time, but the last visit felt a bit overcooked on the grill. The beef was tougher the second time we ordered this. So trust me, this was where I debated between 4 or 3 stars. But regardless was still a good combo with the banchan wrapped up in a green leaf. - Cutlass Fish Spicy Soup ($26), the broth AMAZING! The fish, disappointing! Its one thing that soup was salty good and bold in flavor, but its another thing when the fish was overcooked. You'd expect the fish to be soft, in a soup, not hard. And the back breaker was the bones I had to deal with while eating it. A hassle to deal with, so I doubt I'll get this again. ~ Service & Experience ~ Talk about ALL-STAR, the times we've been here, we were served by Tyler. He has been welcoming, he's explained the menu, shared what's newly added or changed, made excellent suggestions, and made us happy every time he served us specialty cocktails or soju! A true all-star that takes care of his customers, and well deserves a raise! Overall, eating here has been fantastic! I would come back, but only for certain entrées that I feel are worth it. It pains me to give 3 stars, but the tough spare ribs (the second time) and fish stew just didn't justify the price. I recommend trying Hansik yourself and let me know what you think. read more

We had such an amazing dinner here!! The restaurant is so roomy, comfortable, and clean! The servers were prompt and also so kind. And the food was *mwah* There were 10 of us so we had a long table and ordered an assortment of food- marinated pork ssam, a mushroom dish, and a braised beef dish. The other side of the table ordered cold noodles, cold cucumbers, and a couple other things but I was too busy with the food in front of me to pay too much attention to their food. We shared plates back and forth and everything we had was so tasty! It was a fun place to hang out and catch up with people, and we saw lots of other people enjoying their food as well. Even though it was a Friday night and the food, service, and restaurant were so nice, it really didn't fill up. So next time we want some good food but don't wanna wait for it, we'll come here! The extra cherry on top was that the servers were so sweet when we asked if we could bring some homemade dessert in (had originally planned to eat it outside out of the trunk of our car) and they graciously said yes! We were so grateful we got to eat dessert in the warm restaurant instead of outside in the cold. They were so sweet when we shared some with them too! I've been here twice and had a great time both experiences! The inside of the restaurant is very spacious and feels like a nice Korean restaurant. The service is attentive and nice. Their menu is a little bit on the pricier side but the portions are big and the food is delicious. I've been able to try their galbi, soy ddeokbokki, egg souffle, stir-fried squid, soondubu, and kimchi jjigae. Everything has been so delicious. I was really surprised by their soy ddeokbokki because I had never seen a non-spicy version of ddeokbokki before--and it was delicious. The ban chan here is also pretty good! We chose Hansik on a whim for my birthday dinner when I was craving Korean food and I'm so happy we did. I read reviews and looked at photos ahead of time to plan out what I wanted to try and my husband spoiled me by ordering everything I was contemplating. The portions were huge and we definitely had more than two people could ever need, but it was so much fun to try everything. The banchan were fun and flavorful and I loved the kale sesame banchan and the daikon kimchi (I think this is what it was). I added a kimchi scallion pancake last minute on the tail end of our order and it ended up being one of my favorite dishes. The Ssam was so delicious and so was the pork belly. Everything was so flavorful and the server was so kind and willing to answer all my questions so I could make sure I was ordering what I wanted. The weather was cold and the barley tea was so cozy. First time here. Large clean space. Only three of us in there at 6:30 on a Thursday. reviewed the menu, got super fast service (obviously) Food came fast and every dish held it's own. Great flavors, great banchan, Had the Scallion Pancakes with seafood. fantastic. Brisket Salad appetizer was great, the iceberg lettuce was underwhelming greens choice for this salad though. Thin slice brisket was excellent. I can't wait to come back and try the other Stone Griddle bibimbaps. Clay Pot dishes look amazing too. We enjoyed our lunch here today. It was our first visit. The staff was very welcoming and our food came out so quickly. We arrived just prior to the midday rush, it seems. The restaurant was rather empty but by the time we were about to leave, the tables were filling up quickly. My wife and I picked out 2 appetizers and a main dish (Royal Cheese Tteokbokki, Zucchini Fritters and Braised Short Ribs. It was all so wonderful. I only wish we were aware of the portion size. It was enough for 3-4 people. Also, we really enjoyed the decor. We had been to the restaurant/venue that was at that location previously, and it just looks so different, and in the best way. It's new and impressively large by taking over a building previously rented by a bar/grill but I don't quite remember the name having only been there once. I would say that the menu is slightly more unique than other Korean restaurants on the west side. However, prices are a fraction higher as well. The banchan assortment was good, but is clear the owner doesn't want his staff to be refilling them often which is unfortunate. If you ask persistently, you will get refills. Just the quantity of refill is tiny. All in all, it was a good time with an enjoyable spread. I just can't say, however, I got the best bang for the buck. read more

I made sure to come back with more friends so we could try more new dishes hehe. The soft tofu stew with seafood was as good as I remember. The prime short rib grilled was so good super tender but I still think it's a bit too pricey for what it is. The beef brisket mushroom was bland since its just steamed meat with veggies no seasoning but it does come with a sauce to dip with I was not a fan of the sauce bc was a bit too much vinegar so it will be a pass for me. The cheese Royal teokbbokki is a soy sauce base and the teok itself it was buttery soft and chewy ,the soy sauce was not too salty highly recommend trying this. We also got Yukhoe, it is a thinly sliced high quality raw beef I think they kept it 20% frozen to keep the beef texture, the dish is served with a raw egg yolk on top with thinly sliced Korean pear and cucumber drenched in sesame sauce. It also comes with a sesame based sauce on the side to eat with and the sauce is on the sweeter side, I asked the lady if there's a certain way to eat this dish and she just told us to mix the yolk and the beef together, take some meat and cucumber/ pear and dip in the sauce and take a bite with rice. It was my first time trying yukhoe not gonna lie it was intimidating to try since it is raw beef wow I'm glad I did it is an acquired taste for sure so you need to try this dish to know for yourself loll. Hansik is an upscale establishment with an array of menu items that aren't at other Korean restaurants in the area. There's a dining area and a bar area, both have a classy atmosphere and decor. We made a reservation since we heard it gets busy during dinner time, but when we arrived, there were plenty of empty tables. We came here for a special occasion and many of the menu items I was interested in were understandably sold out. So we ordered the Prime Short Rib Ssam, Steamed Bamboo Tube with Beef Brisket and Bean Sprouts, and Flipping Scallion Pancakes with Seafood. The short rib with the ssam wrap was interesting. It made it a bit difficult to wrap the rib in the leaves, so we asked for scissors to cut our meat. The pancake was good, it was very filled with seafood and scallions. The banchan all tasted very fresh. Our favorite dish was the bamboo tube. It reminded me of hot pot but without the soup. The dipping sauce that came with it had a soy dashi flavor which added to the heartiness of the dish. read more

Spicy squid stir-fry: 4/5 cooked with rice cakes, onions, carrots. It has some spice to it, which seemed to lessen as we kept eating Bamboo tube beef brisket with mushroom: 5/5 I've never seen this dish before, but maybe it's because I didn't know what it was. It's a big round bamboo steaming tray lined with napa cabbage and bean sprouts with thinly sliced rolls of beef and mushrooms. It reminded me of shabu shabu. It's a seemingly simple dish, but I really enjoyed dipping the meat in the sauce, and each piece had a little bit of fat, which was really tasty! I was a bit unimpressed with the banchan. I entered this new establishment on a Monday afternoon and was attentively seated promptly. The interior is very pleasant with plenty of seating available for large parties. The background music playing added a bit of elegance and elevated the ambiance as well. There were also plenty of parking spots as well so that's always a plus. The drink and food menu was simplistic and easy to navigate, with small descriptions alongside each item. Our items came out at a good pace and were served at a nice temperature. The bibimbap was sizzling on the stone, and the galbitang was still steaming. All of the banchans tasted very fresh and was well curated to pair with the dish. The assorted jeon were tasty, with my favorite being the beef. The rolled egg was good, but I think I would pass next time and order a classic steamed egg in the clay pot instead. The broth in the galbitang tasted clean and refreshing, definitely revitalized my mind and soul since I was feeling under the weather. I was hoping the meat would be a bit more tender so it would fall off the bone. I accidentally made a few soup splashes while trying to chew the meat off of the bone. The stone bibimbap was flavorful and aromatic, loaded with a variety of different ingredients. I appreciated that extra sauce was put to the side so we could adjust the spice level. I only wish that the beef roast meat slices were more evenly cut to match the size of the other vegetables and ingredients. Overall, I enjoyed my food experience here due to the attentive service, clean and upscale ambiance, and quality tasting ingredients.
