Not too bad! My friend and I were looking for a place to stop as we were driving back from Yosemite and this diner seemed like the best place to do so. I like that they offer both American and Mexican food -- a clever business appeal for folks who are indecisive about what they would like to eat! I ordered a simple chicken quesadilla. Our server was a nice lady who also brought us chips and salsa. It was a slow night for them, as we were the only ones there. Food came out quick too! It was very filling and the portions are generous. Two quesadillas accompanied by large sides of beans and rice! I had to take the rest home as I could only eat about 1/3 of it. That being said, the overall vibe reminds me of a Denny's, but I enjoyed the atmosphere. It was super laid-back and chill, and it was refreshing to be able to sit down and enjoy a good, filling meal.

I love coming to this place and I love their breakfast plates; however, I must say that this is the fifth time I've came back here with receipt error. I just want to share that they've charged me extra plate for every time we've came and ate here, so I would suggest that you look over your receipt before paying. I know we have a habit of just giving out our payment as soon as we get the receipt but for some reason, I checked the receipt for the first time and saw a plate charged that we've never ordered. For 5 consecutive times we went, each time had an extra charge. We've discussed it with the owner and she apologized and said that they're just really busy...but 5 consecutive times? You be the judge. Also, they're breaking the CDC guidelines. Today, my family observed that they're not sanitizing the menus as well as the tables. The restaurant was packed today and they filled up all the tables without following the 6-ft distancing.

Food is pretty bland. Service is pretty slow. If you sit on the patio there is constant noise and fumes from the highway traffic.

Burgers it is. This place had great reviews and rightfully so. Plenty of parking. Plenty of seating. Open concept as soon as you walk in. You are immediately greeted by the person behind the counter, and she was very helpful as soon as she figured we were new to the place. We ordered three of their Blue Collar burgers (no complaints, juicy and all things a burger should be. My son and I split the order of sliders which also were substantial for sliders and delicious. We ordered sides if fries which came out hot and crispy and fresh out the fryer. We also ordered a side of sweet potato fries that came with a side of marshmallow fluff. Lastly, we ordered a side of zuchinni fries which were garnished with garlic and shredded parmesan cheese. Bathrooms were clean. There is a bar and plenty of TV's to choose from if you want to enjoy a game while you eat. Prices were decent. Can't even complain that they didn't have meal deals because although we ordered burgers and the french fries and drinks on the side I believe we paid what we would have had we gone to McDonald's or even In N Out. So, its comparable to those two.

The servers are friendly and always willing to help by grabbing you an extra sauce or two. Country music is the vibe here, after all this is "Oakdale bud!" Tonight we had the half fries and I had the Big Kahuna Burger. Pulled pork with pineapple and beef patty with all the fixings topped off with a hushpppy. The husband ordered the Smash Burger with one piece of cheese since 3 is too cheesy for him. If you love cheese keep it as is. One last thing the servers work very hard and you will see them clearing a table as your meal is finished and always keeping the floors clean as well. Will definitely return and probably sooner rather than later.

I went with bolognese since I dont typically make pasta at home. It was ok and a bit salty for my taste. Friends did enjoy their cod and steak. Cod seems small in the photo but its a good size. That was another option I was thinking but since I eat fish often I went with pasta. Frank was our waiter and he was amazing. The butter cake dessert was what he chose for us and the cake itself is amazing but the icecream added on top is too much sweetness for me. The entire staff very nice and they close at 8pm but let us sit and chat close to 9pm while they were closing and cleaning up. It was very nice of them. I tried to leave before they had to tell us. Thank you to entire staff for letting us hangout way past your closing hours. The bathrooms are very clean too. The entire space of the restaurant is a good vibe.

When I think Classic drive in, I think American Graffiti, or Sonic where they come out to your car. This isn't that! It is located on a corner with a small parking lot. Best way to describe the building is kind of like a Foster's Freeze where you park somewhere and walk up to the small hole-in-the-wall type building and place your order at a small window. This should not be a deterrent though. Some of the best places are hole in the walls. I was met by a friendly gentleman who took my order. I ordered the Mushroom and Swiss Ranch burger with a side of onion rings. No, the burger didn't have "ranch" on it. It took me a minute to realize that was a category of burger...like ranch style burger. It was a burger that the gentleman said, "you won't be picking it up to eat it. It is a knife and fork type of burger!" MAN, HE WASN'T KIDDING! When I picked up my order I was greeted by his wife who was even more friendly and inviting (if that is possible), than her husband. All-in-all, the burger was delicious, very nice toasted bun, loads of grilled mushrooms and red onions with a Chipotle Aioli sauce that gives it a little kick. The flavors blended well together. My only knock would be on the burger patty itself. It was a bit small. The flavor was there just not enough meat IMHO. For that I rate the burger 4/5 . The onion rings crispy on the outside and tender on the inside...the way they should be, 5/5 . Keep in mind I rate each establishment for the categories they are in. This is not a 5 star, high end restaurant. It is a classic hole in the wall, walk up to the window and order fast food category. Sometimes you just want a good burger, greasy fried food experience that tastes good. This place has that in spades...and it is delicious! I will be back.

I asked my favorite llm where I should stop by for prime rib going from Fresno to SF. It at first suggested I make a bee like for house of prime rib in sf, which I like but have been to many times. It then suggested house of beef and I'm so glad it did (cattleman's in Livermore was also a 3rd choice but I've been there several times too). Thankfully it was Fri eve and they had prime rib. I like mine rare and it was perfectly cooked, very marbled, huge, well seasoned and delicious. I pared it wth au jus and mashed with gravy. Then, what reminded me to write this review, was the tri tip from the meat counter and took to go. They were nice enough to pack it in ice for my 2 hour drive. I just cooked it on my grill in the rain and this is seriously one of the best tri tips I've ever grilled up. The meat tenderness/marbling/quality is on par with any prime grade/American wagyu I've bought and the seasoning is just super on point. Looking forward to smoking the baby back ribs I picked up as well in the next couple of days but I will definitely be back next time I'm in the area. Seems like other reviews had issue with service but the staff were exceptionally attentive when I was there. Seriously the only thing that wasn't top notch about my experience was the cocktails(mine was totally fine but I'm a bit spoiled when I'm in SF) but for my purposes passing through I just wanted the prime rib and meats to go to be delicious and house of beef certainly lived up to its name!

Service is fast and attentive, staff is apologetic about the wait, but the waiting time was not too late or rushed. Our server 10/10 service, even gave us extra bread to take home. Salad and soup bar were excellent and everything tasted fresh. We loved the tomato soup, but didn't like the french onion dip soup. The bread was amazing, and even tasted great as reheated leftovers. The prime rib and ribeye steak were cooked perfectly to our order, but couldnt finish eating dud to being full from the unlimited bread, salad and soup bar. Garlic fries were amazing and crispy, even after reheated for leftovers. Only a few things I didn't like was when we went to get our soup and salad, they cleared the whole table. I was warming up the butter in my hands for the bread to spread on faster, but they took it away like trash when we went to grab our salad and soups. They resetted the paper towel rolls to the side of the table when we moved it to the center, and they almost took away my husband's alcoholic drink, and then realized we were still dining. The lighting was definitely way too dark. I could see elderly people slipping if there was were liquids or food filled on the floor. The space is interestingly very small for a steak restaurant, but they seem to make everything flow well. Definitely would come again, enjoy the soup and salad bar, and then maybe share a steak instead of ordering two.
