I had a leaking pipe from the kitchen clean out of my rental in Alameda & called JD Plumbing. John came out the same day to repair the leaking pipe. A day later, the soil next to the repaired pipe appeared to be wet, John came to investigate & quickly determined a leak in the clay pipe. He cut the clay pipe to install a union & we thought we were done. When John returned a couple of days later to check on the fix, he noticed new wet soil. John dug out around the remaining line to another clean out, under a concrete walkway & another 5 feet, just to discover yet another section of the clay pipe leaking. He replaced the entire section of damaged pipe with cast iron. I truly appreciate John for hard work, being persistent & knowledgeable. I found him to friendly, trustworthy & honest. Hmm, Jon doesn't really need another 5 star review, but I thought it would be cool to share his story: A plumber drove right up to Jon on the street and offered to hire him for a job, at which point he went home to put on some work clothes, got trained on the job, and basically he's been a plumber ever since, worked for Roto-Rooter, and started his own thing and totally loves his job years later. How lucky, right? It's always nice when someone loves what they do, is really good at it, and can run their own business well. Jon is a very chill guy, fast and smart, and wants to make sure the customer is satisfied and taken care of. I had some unique fixtures, and he took the time to call the manufacturer and figure out how to do the repair, and go get whatever parts I needed. He fixed 4 things very quickly: unclogged a sink drain, fixed my toilet handle, replaced a hose bib, and fixed a leaky faucet -- all for a very affordable price despite needing multiple visits and store runs to get the right parts. JD started off okay trying to repair a leak in my upstairs bath. After two visits and being unable to locate and repair the leak, he had to open up my wall. He proceeded and was to return. Unfortunately, he did not return despite my making multiple calls and texting him. He never responded. He put a hole in my wall, abandoned the job and didn't have the work ethic to either admit he was unable to locate the problem or refer me to another plumber. Alright, alright, alright, good update! Jon ended up having a medical emergency which makes sense now since I didn't get that vibe from him when we first met and we had a really good rapport going on his first visit here. After recovering he was quick to respond, apologized, and was quick to replace the sink trap in our garage and it looks amazing. I think it's safe to say stuff like this happens in this type of work when you have your apprentice do the work for experience so it was reassuring he took care of this job himself this time and was hands on. I tried to replace my kitchen faucet and could not get the bolt holding the unit to the sink to move. I bought and returned several special tools finally cutting off everything but the bolt hold the faucet body firmly to the sink. I called JD plumbing and he can out that day! Super bummed about this plumber, he started out so great. But in the end he got in over his head and instead of just being honest with us he stopped communicating all together mid way through a project Leaving us to find a new plumber to finish his mess. Can't support a non professional attitude with even the guarantee of his work he claims. We had a leak in our house and couldn't figure out where it was coming from so he came out within an hour of me calling and was prompt, professional and smart but the most important thing: a problem solver. He quickly figured out where the leak was coming from and explained everything to me- I know nothing about plumbing so getting a basic education was helpful. He could tell I was anxious about the problem and he stayed until we ran the water 4-5 times in order to be sure the problem was solved. I contacted him thru Facebook messenger and John answered my questions. They came on July 4th holiday and were done in less than an hour. Very thorough and detailed with their work. They cleaned the toilet area after installing it and even caulked it for us because we had it caulked before. They disposed our old toilet. Update to my previous review... Before I called a plumber my neighbor recommended I called JD Plumbing one final time to see if John had a good reason for the no-show​ and no call back after over a week. He answered right away and said he had been in the hospital and could come out the next day to fix the powder room sink. He was right on time and fixed the problem. I will call JD Plumbing again the next time I need a plumber. John is polite, doesn't try to sell you on unnecessary work and was available on short notice when other plumbers were hard to reach. read more

Jon Dixon is a reliable, efficient and personable young man who has the skill set and sense of responsibility that will ensure your problem will be addressed in a timely and effective manner. I had a major problem with the discharge pipe for my clothes washer. Waste water was pouring out of the intake opening to the pipe and flooding my laundry area and basement. Jon came out shortly after he finished up a job he was on when I called, spent several hours first diagnosing and then trying to repair the problem (root intrusion) using an electric snake. The configuration of my piping prevented the snake from reaching the full length of the intrusion, so we scheduled a follow up appointment when he would have more time to break through some concrete to have more direct access to the problematic pipe and also install a convenient clean out in case the problem returns. Jon arrived on time, worked steadfastly for many hours, and totally fixed the problem (plus leaving an easier way of dealing with any future root intrusions). He is polite, professional and communicates wonderfully. His charges were quite reasonable. Top notch all the way. Like I said, stop looking- hire him! :-) read more
