I chose him due to price, communication, reviews, and the fact that he's a mobile detail service. On the day of, he showed up on time and got straight to work. I could tell he takes a lot of pride in his work since he was working really hard (thankfully on a cloudy day!). The car came out looking really good, and it's clear they take pride in the actual detailing. That said, I had a frustrating experience with pricing that I think needs to be called out. When the technician arrived, we walked the car together and I was given an agreed upon price. After the wash was completed, I was then told the car wasn't properly evaluated and the price would be higher because it "took longer than expected" - not due to anything unforeseen. I don't think that's acceptable. Pricing should be clear and agreed upon before any work begins -- not adjusted once the job is already complete. In this situation, it was never communicated that the price may be adjusted. It puts the customer in a difficult position and takes away from an otherwise positive experience. Again, the end result was great, which is why I'm not rating lower. But the pricing process needs to be more upfront and transparent. I'd recommend double confirming a firm price before they start to avoid any surprises.
