Dr. Bajwa saved my rescue cat's life--his incredibly skilled medical care and surgical work were both comprehensive and compassionate (and very successful). He even gave me his phone number and returned my texts promptly (sometimes within minutes) during my cat's home recovery. To preface this review, I have a sixteen-year-old chihuahua mix, Suzy, with heart disease, history of pancreatitis, early stage protein losing enteropathy, and arthritis. I adopted her three years ago. She had had a dental with the rescue and was left with several missing teeth, as well as an oronasal fistula. I myself am an RVT at a general practice and I had my doctor repair the fistula. Unfortunately, it failed, which I knew could happen. Suzy overall still had a good quality of life, so I left it alone. A couple months ago, I was hit by the dental fairies and I decided I wanted to take care of all of my dogs' oral health. I went back and forth about putting Suzy in particular under anesthesia again, given her age and existing health conditions. She was doing well and I did not want to mess with that balance. But, I knew the procedure was doable and, if I wanted to get her teeth cleaned and radiographed, why not attempt to repair the oronasal fistula again? And so, I scheduled a consult at Veterinary Dental Specialties. I went in telling myself that this was just going to be a consult; I did not have to rush to schedule anything. Well, I met the staff and Dr. Furman. And my resolve flew out the window. The front staff was so sweet. Michele got down on Suzy's level, greeting her and giving her treats. She had Suzy doing her little tippy taps, like they were best of friends. Suzy's very anxious brother, Chauncy, had come along for the ride and even he was feeling social and happy. I had never seen him so bold in a new place! Dr. Furman, too, also got on Suzy's level (which is very low to the ground) during the consult. Suzy has an old jaw fracture and does not like her face touched. But, Dr. Furman was able to put her on his lap and take a look. He reassured me that the fistula repair could be done and that the success rate was high. He stated, too, that he often works on geriatric patients and that they have an anesthesiologist decide on the best protocol. Fast forward several weeks and it was the day of the procedure. My appointment was at 8:00a and I got to wait for Suzy. As before, I was very impressed with the professionalism, efficiency, communication, and customer service. After the imaging was done, Dr. Furman showed me the CT, which was a cool experience. The treatment plan was clear and was in line with my own methods of practicing. I was not pressured into pulling borderline teeth or to try and fix Suzy's jaw. I felt very confident trusting my old girl with the team. I do not know what the schedule looked like, but it seemed like the focus was only on Suzy and we were not just a number. On top of that, I myself also felt very taken care of. I was offered coffee and snacks while I was waiting. Suzy's nervous brother also got some treats himself. By 10:00a, an oronasal fistula repair and four extractions later, Suzy was recovered and I was able to take her home. Suzy received some hard drugs, but some magic occurred at her procedure. Within a few hours, Suzy was eating and ambulating appropriately. (To put that in perspective, it took her two days to show interest in food the first time around, even without any extractions.) It has been a few days since Suzy's anesthetic and I can tell she's been feeling amazing. She's lively and energetic. She's not coughing or sneezing anymore. Several years ago I had a consult for my Zsa Zsa with Dr. Furman. Zsa Zsa was about 17 at the time and had chronic kidney disease, a delicate situation. In addition, she was only 7 pounds. I needed the best and since Dr. Furman has a dedicated anesthesiologist, I felt I was safe with him. We scheduled the dental and the night before, my girl came down with pancreatitis and we had to postpone. Sadly, not long after, she passed. The office was wonderful about the last minute cancelation. I have a new girl that I just rescued: 15 year old Daisy, also small and with liver disease. I am going to preface this with: I am a crazy dog mom. My 8 year old Golden is my entire life and is my best friend so I would do anything for her, to give her the longest, healthiest, and happiest life possible. Stella had two dead teeth and I noticed the canine one pretty quickly. I knew it needed to be dealt with so I took her to the vet. The vet recommended this place. At our consultation, literally almost every vet tech they had came in to say hi to me and Stella. I was already a crying mess but they made me feel a lot better. They checked all her bloodwork, her heart and even have an anesthesiologist check as well. We had to wait about a month after the consultation to get her appointment for her surgery, just enough time for my anxiety to continue to grow . The day finally came and I was so anxious and nervous. Dr. Furman and his team made me feel at ease and very comfortable, again. She went in for surgery at 2:30 and came out wagging her tail, high as a kite at 6:15 pm. She slept it off and has been recovering perfectly. It's a bit relieving to know that dental surgeries are a routine work here, and they have happy clients with older pets. It's my cat's second surgery due to the tooth resorption. First time at a Veterinary Dental office and I'm so pleased with the experience!! I spoke with Michele when I made the inital appointment and she was the SWEETEST. She truly was there for me every step of the way. There's another young lady that works aside Michele & she was also very kind. I researched several doctors & hospitals before making my choice. Dr. Furman is a board certified veterinarian and has a board-certified anesthesiologist. I have a frenchie so this is super important to me. Dr. Furman takes his time and doesn't make you feel rushed. It's truly a 1 on 1 intimate experience unlike most of the typical vet offices. My anxiety is usually out of the roof on the day of a surgery but I truly felt at ease. The location is easy to find. Easy parking. Very clean office. Excellent customer service. Oh my gosh! What a great office! Dr Furman is amazing! SO are the others that I met, Dr Markowitz and Dr Hernandez. They are all so kind and helped me with my kitty Jake. He had to have some extractions. And while it hurt a little to cough up the cost, i NEVER had such care with his dental, and he really had problems that were overlooked by my vet. Dental surgery is expensive- period. However if your dog needs critical dental surgery Dr Furman is probably one of the best in Southern California. My toy poodle whom is 15 years old was diagnosed with kidney disease this spring. She was doing so bad that I thought she would die and not make it to summer 2022. I did a lot of research on kidney disease, joined Facebook kidney disease dog groups, etc. I read one post of one owner who also had a toy poodle whom was 15 and got dental surgery which changed the dog's life. All the bacteria in the bad teeth/gums worsens the progression of kidney disease. However a dog being that old- its a risky proposition. Put them under to possibly save their life or risk putting them under with the possibility they may not wake up. I chose to roll the dice and put her under even though so is almost 16 years old. Therefore an amazing dental surgeon was critical. There are few experienced licensed vet dental specialists in Southern California whom are AVDC board certified- maybe 10. You can go on the AVDC website to look at those that are. You can have vet dental surgeon do your teeth or just your vet but few are AVDC. I researched all of them near Los Angeles and Dr Furman's was the fastest to get me in. Even though I live over an hour away from Dr Furman's office, time was critical with my dog, due to her age. I did the consult and looked at other dental surgeons -even those closer to me- and to be honest- his price was actually lower than one that was a non AVDC surgeon. Dr Furman you can tell is very experienced and does this all the time that the age of my dog didn't seem to be a factor. Nor were her conditions- kidney disease and she also has a gallbladder tumor. He felt confident she would be ok. Its been almost a month now and my dog is doing great- almost like she has decreased her aging for several years. His staff is amazing and very on top of everything including billing, communication, etc. I will admit it the surgery was expensive but it was money well spent. I can now rest at night knowing I did everything for my little baby to make sure she lived the longest she could. I love this place and wish I could take all my pups here! I've been so nervous as our Miley is 6 years old and in desperate need of a dental. She's just under 3lbs and has hydrocephalus so we've been cautioned by many about the risks of putting her under. After we got clearance from her neurologist we saw Dr. Furman. I came with a whole list of questions and he was very informative and took his time to answer all my questions. The staff was always super friendly as well with great communication via phone and emails. I love that this place took all the precautionary measures. She had her blood work done of course, in addition to an arrhythmia test since Dr. noticed some irregular breathing. He also had us get heart X-rays done (which showed an enlarged heart) so sent us off to a cardiologist to get an ekg done. Although it was pricey, it put me at ease knowing that he was getting all avenues covered before our Miley went under. Another major pro is that this place has a one dog at a time policy. I wish all vet places were like this. My dogs are with me all day every day. They get nervous at the vet and there's no way I would leave them for 6-8 hours sitting in a cage waiting. So day of surgery, we got there at 8am for our appt and left with our Miley at 11am. She was the only patient during those hours. By 9am Dr. Furman had dental X-rays taken and discussed with us the plan. Unfortunately our baby girl had to have all teeth extracted, 21 in total. I was so sad and nervous, but Dr. Furman assured me that its not uncommon and she would have a healthier life and could eat as normal. I knew that was our only option as her teeth have been bothering her and we suspected it was causing her nasal congestion also. She was done with the procedure in about an hour and had some time to recover before we were able to take her home. She was more alert than I expected. During the recovery time she never cried or whimpered. I expected her to be in lots of pain but by the second day she was back to eating her dinner as normal. I annoyingly asked Dr. Furman countless times to be extra gentle with Miley. I believe he was and took great care, which is why she had a smooth recovery. She's done great and it's been only 5 days since her procedure. I haven't seen the nasal congestion come back either so am very hopeful. I absolutely love this place. I wouldn't feel right taking Miley anywhere else considering her size and condition. I really want to take my other pups here but really have to assess the cost when they aren't high risk like Miley. We paid a little over $10k for all the testing done and procedure, which included X-rays and ekg done elsewhere. I would say it was worth it in Miley's case bc she got the best care. We were referred to Dr Furman by the owner Carrie of The Spaw (Tustin).Carrie being an ex-vet tech herself,said this is the ONLY Dental Specialist she recommends&I am very glad I listened to her her!Let me start by saying for years,I taken my dogs to The Spaw for their grooming&she started offering"non-anesthesia" dentals cleanings.Prior to every cleaning,she has a vet do an exam on the pups.Her vet found a boney mass on Winston's lower jaw.They contacted me&said they would not be able to do his cleaning&recommended I schedule w/ my vet (Backbay Dr Fanous) for an anesthesia cleaning w/ X-rays to determine what the mass was.My vet, Dr Fanous told me he did not feel comfortable doing a jaw biopsy on such a small pup&he referred me to a Vet Specialist (who I did not see).I called Carrie&she referred me to Dr Furman.Here is where Dr Furman comes in.Nervous about my Winston, I called&spoke w/the receptionist Veronika. She listens,is thoughtful,helpful&caring.She booked my consult which was several weeks out&assured me that if there were any cancellations to come in sooner,she would call me.AND she CALLED...several times until we found a date that worked.I think it was about 2 weeks after my initial call&about 3 weeks sooner than the actual consult scheduled.The consult went well&I also brought in my 14 yo Jax as an emotional support dog for Winston.Jax also had a dental problem but I was told he was too old for anesthesia&nothing could be done.Well, Dr Furman looked@him too(as a courtesy)&guess what...he said,"No problem, I do this all the time."I told him about the other vet's concern about putting him under due to age&Dr Furman responded "There are only a few certified Vet Anesthesiologist in the state of CA&I have one of them working for me.I put elderly, medically compromised&special needs dogs under General anesthesia on a daily basis with no problem at all."So not only could he clean Winston's teeth&do the biopsy,he would also remove Jax's canine,debride&pack the socket to protect the sinus cavity, thereby healing the infection that Jax had been on antibiotics for the past year (and would have continued on for the rest of his life). Jax is healed&is so much healthier now.We definitely extended the life of our beloved Yorkie.And our Winston, well, he came out of the surgery with flying colors.I could go on and on.Dr Furman only treats one dog at a time.He comes out to talk to you once they have been put under to reassure you that your dog is doing ok.He then discusses his findings once the X-rays are taken&they are sleeping where he can do a more complete exam.He then does treatment&personally brings your baby out to you after surgery!On top of all that,he sits in the lobby with you to discuss the aftercare,gives you his cell number for any concerns once you get home&calls that evening to check in on his patients.I am a HUMAN dental hygienist of 20 years&this guy is very skilled.I wish I could work with him.And yes, I called him that night when Jax sneezed out something very yucky,only for Dr Furman to reassure me that that was residual debris from the long-term chronic infection.Going to any specialist be it human or veterinary costs more than seeing your regular doctor.But, I will TELL YOU that this experience was WORTH every penny!!!!Lastly, they give you all the fees up front so there are no surprises.Now,if you have taken the time to read this LONG review,you must love your pet.I have EXCITING news....WINSTON does not have bone cancer!! OMG! Just returned from this butcher shop with my baby pretty much intact a only because I snatched her from the jaws of death. The "Vet", who is a total hack, dr. furman, wanted to do a TRACHEOTOMY on my 12 year-old tiny chihuahua because he could not figure out how to intubate her. That is why she was there - he is supposed to be the small-animal intubation specialist!!!! Instead, he punted and wanted to slice my baby's throat open just to do a dental procedure. DON'T TAKE YOUR BABY THERE IF YOU WANT HIM/HER TO LIVE!!! Thank goodness I grabbed my baby and left before they slit her throat open! Also, they charged me an extra $1000 for the gas-passer (anesthesiologist) to show up for my appointment even though I overheard them say she was there for other procedures as well. The gas-passer did nothing to my baby while I was there but they still charged me. BTW, I am a retired catheter engineer of 40 years and designed all varieties of catheters that could do this procedure, but when dr. furman showed me his joke of an intubation tube selection, I almost laughed but I was too upset at what he was suggesting. I could have built him a special catheter that would work for my baby before I came to the appt. if they had told me they were not equipped or competent to do an intubation. Scary that this place is in business. I will be contacting the CA VMB about this facility. read more

Although I had to wait two months to book a consultation, the timeline to schedule surgery is relatively quick (2 weeks). Rigby, my 11 y.o. dog needs significant surgery to remove rotting teeth. My primary vet attempted the surgery, but due to complications with anesthesia, they didn't feel comfortable with the procedure. I'm terrified to lose my baby, but seeing him in discomfort is heartbreaking. In a matter of 4 months, his health has drastically deteriorated. Dr. Furman is candid and transparent. His team thoroughly broke down the procedure and costs and provided several options to keep costs affordable. Considering what healthcare costs for humans these days, specialized surgery for pets is quite reasonable. I have anxiety about going to the dentist, so I know the importance of finding a specialist who makes you feel calm, is highly skilled at their job, and genuinely cares about their patients. I was extremely nervous to get my dogs dental procedures done . One of them had never been under anesthesia before and like all of us pet owners we worry about our babies . I researched a lot of different specialists to take my dog to and through due diligence I landed on Dr. Furman . I have to hand it to him and his staff . I adopted a senior cat after his owner died and was misled about his health. It turned out he had severe periodontal disease that was wreaking havoc on the rest of his organs. This cat was in a great deal of pain, and because of his age and health, other veterinary surgeons wouldn't even look at him. I can't thank Dr. Markowitz enough for her expertise and compassion. This cat had some complications with the surgery. His stitches came loose, and there was some bleeding and tooth or bone fragments. He initially required a full extraction, and it was a lengthy procedure. Then he had to have a followup procedure. But he fully healed from it and now no longer sneezes and wheezes with congestion. I suspect a rinoscope might reveal some polyps, but his health overall is much improved. The front desk is a bit chaotic. The Ontario location is shared with a veterinary dermatologist. Plus all phone calls go to a main line for several locations, not all of which are open every day of the week. Because I cannot afford to pay expensive medical bills for other pet owner's chronic neglect, I worked with a 501(c)3 registered group to get a discount and crowd funded through Waggle. This clinic didn't register with Waggle to make my reimbursement more convenient. They had a check mailed to them and took their time refunding me. Other vets have just immediately refunded me for just routine charges like tests that weren't actually run in the end. Like I said, I think it's more disorganization than anything. But the cat is better, which is the most important thing. I'm glad they were able to help him. read more

This review is for whomever answers the phone. I called to see if I could be added to the waitlist for an appointment for my dog. She has special needs regarding anesthesia and I had already been turned away by a few other dentists, which I told the person on the phone. First they said they would transfer me to their Los Angeles location. I sat on hold for 10 minutes before getting disconnected. I then looked up the website and they don't have an LA location, so that was confusing. They asked me to explain what was going on. I told them my dog has had a SUDDEN onset of loss of bone on her bottom front teeth. The teeth were suddenly loose and the jaw bone shockingly, seemingly, was gone. This is common in periodontal disease, except my dog shows no signs of that and has otherwise healthy teeth. She is in the first 3rd of her life and is seen regularly by vets including by my family vet 2 days previously and by a world renowned vet at UC Davis for a clinical study that same week where she was examined under heavy sedation for a separate issue related to her breed. Both examined her teeth and neither reported any dental issues. I told them I wanted x rays to see what is causing the bone loss and this urgent issue. She asked me if I got her teeth cleaned. I said yes and we brush at home. She begins to tell me that because her cleaning was not under anesthesia, she obviously has dental disease. I repeated that she has no other signs of this and is under regular vet care, and brushing. She said "I'm not a doctor" but insisted that they see this all the time and non anesthetic cleaning causes gum disease. I said that wouldn't explain the sudden onset of decline and that I wanted X-rays to rule out trauma or a tumor or cyst or retained deciduous teeth. She said that would not be possible. They could book me an appointment in the future and then they would put her under general anesthesia and then come out and tell me what needed to be done. It felt like a scam and it was beyond frustrating. I have many friends and family that have dogs with perfect teeth who lived long lives without ever needing anesthetic cleaning. We had our surgery yesterday! 3 extractions, a root canal and some bonding and a cleaning. I am so beyond relieved that everything went smoothly & we are now about 36 hours post and he is doing great. The entire day was so much more relaxing than I had anticipated, the entire staff & Dr. Furman lived up to expectations. The team was clear about every step and kept us updated while Swisher was under anesthesia. From arrival/intake to pick up was 3 1/2 hours including anesthesia recovery time. The office called today to check in on swisher & make sure we had everything we needed for insurance. I hope we won't be back here for anything but a checkup - but it's so good to know that you can trust Dr. Furman & his team just in case!!! My little guy fractured his front canine tooth and because he is so young his primary vet recommended trying to save the tooth thus referring us to Dr. Furman. It was easy to make an initial consult. Dr. Furman provided me with a couple different surgery options and wrote up estimates for each option. I ultimately chose the root canal therapy. The entire team has been professional, supportive, and patient with our concerns and questions. The care and kindness we (and the pets) were shown has been among the best we've ever received raising more than 13 dogs over the years. I only wish that Dr Furman could be my dentist - he even gave us his cell number to call if we had any questions or issues after taking them home. And we did. At 10pm at night and he couldn't have been more responsive. Regarding the posting below dated 6/30 from Danny S. My husband and I were there that day and observed first-hand the treatment that Danny and her pup received, and it was nothing as she described. The entire time we were there, about 2 hours, Tia, Michelle and Dr Furman each patiently dealt with her hysterics, accusations and drama. It was clear that there was no reasoning, or appeasing her, even after they drastically discounted her services. They had her on speaker phone, as she wasn't the one that came to pick up the dog, but sent a friend. I was absolutely shocked in seeing her post and just had to stand up for the clinic and set the record straight. She is the one who is rude and deceitful, trying to take advantage of a small practice and manipulate stories and lies, berating people until she gets her way. Please ignore her posting. This veterinary dentist office is great! My cat Smokey has periodontal disease as a young cat and the first thing my regular vet wanted to do was remove all his teeth! I went here at the recommendation of the shelter we got him at and we are working through a treatment plan to save my kitty's teeth with cleaning and alternative medicines to see if he will outgrow it. Super welcoming staff, clean lovely office, and unparalleled personal attention for my boy Bacon. My regular vet recommended we come here because of his age and kidney disease and I'm so grateful she did. We've been to other fancy dental vets in West LA and I wish we could have come here instead! We will be coming here for all our pet dental needs from now on. I was so impressed with the personal attention and level of care. My fur baby has to get her teeth cleaned. She had to go to a specialist because she had a mouth tumor and underwent treatment for it but she also ended up having necrotic tissue, which required her to have her little teeth extracted. Dr. Furman explained everything to me over the phone while my husband took her in (I had to be at work). His recommendations were reasonable and he was concise. He answered my questions and had great bedside manners from what my husband told me. He took a biopsy of the area and will let us know next week about the results. She's at home resting and on medications. I'm so happy that she's getting the best care that she deserves...she's been through a lot. They also trimmed her nails as a courtesy. This review is long over due but I never forgot about my experience with Dr Furman for my little pup . I needed to get all my dogs teeth out and was so scared and upset and wanted to find the very BEST oral surgeon around. My vet recommended a dentist they use but when I went for the consultation he was rude and seemed like a strange person and I didn't trust him I had the worst feeling. I got two quotes and yes Dr. Furmans was more but I went with Dr Furman and he was kind , caring , very confident in helping my pup I felt he was trustworthy. My dog developed k.pneumonia infection after having dental surgery here. Of course nobody will own up to it. My dog came here for extensive dental surgery. His bloodwork was taken prior to the surgery. I also had an echocardiogram and chest X-rays performed prior to the surgery. Everything came out fine - his bloodwork was near perfect. Little did I know that my dog would soon become extremely sick and die one month later. His last two weeks of life were absolutely miserable. His liver enzymes were through the roof. He didn't eat for two weeks! He acted like he wanted the food , but he couldn't use his mouth to pick it up. He still drank water , but not a lot. He didn't poop for over a week. His per was dark Orange/ brown. I took him for his recheck awirh Dr Furman and told him how he was developing a sinus infection. Dr Furman took him in the back and came out to tell me everything g looked great and he was fine. I told him my dog had begun pawing at his mouth and crying , but still the doctor insisted my dog was fine. Never would this doc acknowledge a problem after his work. Things got worse. 4 days later I took my dog to my vet . His nose was crusted over and packed with stuff I've never witnessed coming from the nose of a dog. It looked like dried canned dog food. It was scary. The vet put him in a special room at the office because of a possibility my dog may have something contagious to other patients there. His nose was swabbed /cultured and then sent to a lab to see what be happening. The vet asked if my dog was given antibiotics from dr Furman after the dental surgery. I told the vet he wasn't given antibiotics- only Gabapentin for pain and Rimadyl for the anti-inflammatory. Both the vet and myself wondered why no antibiotics were given after 10 teeth were pulled. A few days later it worsened. I took my dog to Blue Pearl Emergency because my dog had lost a substantial amount of weight, still hasn't pooped, wasn't eating (I was syringe feeding him as best as I could ). He stayed overnight and his bloodwork came out with a variety of horrible outcomes- pancreas, gallbladder, and liver levels were all out of whack. The cultures from my regular vet still hadn't come back to tell us about his nose issue. After a useless overnight stay at the emergency vet, I received the results from the culture- my dog had k. pneumoniae, citrobacter, and e.coli bacteria! Klebsiella pneumoniae is a type of bacteria that can cause a range of infections. These usually develop in hospital settings. Kiebsiella is very rare. When the bacteria spread to other parts of the body, they can cause a variety of infections,l. My dog developed a liver infection that killed him. He died in my arms on my birthday at the ER hospital. I'm leaving out a lot of detail and things that my dog endured during his post surgery with the dental "specialist " I want to add that dr Furman charged me an extra $1000 (it was well over $5000) to have an anesthesiologist present . I spoke to the anesthesiologist after the surgery and I asked her how they removed my dog's teeth. Her answer caught me off guard. She told me dr Furman "twisted" my dog's abscess tooth with his bare hands . She actually told me she couldn't watch and that she "winced" even thinking about it. I want you to be warned. This is one of the very few dental specialists in the area. He might be the only one in fact. I never received antibiotics for my dog after this horrific experience . Dr Furman knows my dog died but never even called me about it . He doesn't care. There is so much more that happened but I feel this is enough to warn you about trusting a vet just because they are a specialist and just because they say they can fix your pet. Dr Furman is not worth a five star , four star , or even a one star review. What I'm saying are all facts. My dog wasn't sick until this surgery took place. My dog is dead now. No compassion from the facility that caused his body to develop a nasty infection from their carelessness. read more

I watched the video of what to expect, and thought no way! Well was I wrong. After going over the options and explained what was involed, my 13 year old dog, who has IBD and Diabetes was taken to the back. This is where you normally see the family member(s) wringing there hands, crying waiting and wondering. Not here! After a while I was escorted back. My boy was on his back incubated and being monitored. We went over the radiographs taken and he discussed his plan for my boy. He was able to show me the involved teeth, so there was no doubt in my mind. I went back to the front and was able to work a bit, on their guest WiFi. Dr Hernandez came out and summarized what was done (they even monitored his glucose!), and the anesthesiologist brought him to me shortly after. I know ever dog. Every scenario and every procedure is different, so I know how lucky we are. Postoperative, he recovered quickly from the anesthesia and I will give him the prescribed pain meds. This place has been a god send. After calling around to multiple different speciality groups for my dogs broken jaw fracture- a few ppl suggested Dr Furman. Immediately when I walked in, the receptionist was very warm and welcoming. I then met Dr Furman and he immediately put me at ease and was extremely knowledgeable. Not to mention, was so nice. A major plus: they only see one pet at a time, so i was the only person in their office and they had 2-3 hours dedicated to my Pomeranians care only. I have gotten quotes from other hospitals who told me my Pomeranian would need 2x $1000 CT scans and titanium plates and a sky high bill upwards towards 10k...and that it was my only option. Dr Furmans practice however, tries to do the most minimally invasive procedures, with a high healing rate success and half of the price. My bill for the procedure was around $4600 (jaw surgery, meds, multiple tooth extractions due to risk of infection down the road but NOT including the removal of wire which will be and extra $1000+). which is still pricey don't get my wrong, however he tried to keep price as low as possible and wasn't trying to upsell me on anything. He just wanted what was best for my little angel. All in all- I'm really happy I finally found a dentist speciality group in Southern California. Dental Specialists are few and far between I've learned in this process , and the Dr. Furmans of the world are super rare. Would recommend. read more

There are 2 practices near me: I want to first describe my experience at ANOTHER PRACTICE: I called another office first (Dr. Nice). His receptionist sounded like she could not care less about my cat's injury. She told me bluntly they are booked for the month and that's that. My experience at THIS PRACTICE: At first this said they are booked up for 2 weeks. However, the guy on the phone was very nice and understanding. He said he would give me a call back the next day to confirm whether he can squeeze me in earlier. Luckily he did call back and I was able to get an appointment within 2 days. At the visit, everyone at the office were professional and explained everything clearly. Dr. Markowitz is super nice and came up with a reasonable treatment plan within my budget.
