Dr. Taylor and her staff are amazing! They're courteous, very professional, and always willing to do what they can to help with my dental needs that have been time sensitive. Plus, Dr. Taylor is really knowledgeable which is great because I'm not a dentist nor do I speak Dental terminology, but she's really good at explaining what is about to happen as well as post op information. I've been coming to this office for about 6 months and have recommended them several times to friends. A common problem I've had with other dental offices in Austin has been that the office staff had poor management skills when scheduling appointments. But Dr Taylor's office has shown me that not all Austin dental offices are the same! I only like to tell truths based on the facts that I experienced 1. Overcharge $38, and I took two weeks to get my money back. I would not know it until I asked account summary lol 2. I went there to get the crown for #15 but she recommended to do #14 too so I said yes. These photos show what she did after 2 days she put on a new crown for #14, 15. 3. It is still in the process to finish the grievance that I filed to get money back to get new crowns because of a whole open margin space that you see and the space between 13. 4. She trembled her hands and arms, I felt it (personal opinon), do not take a risk of coming here. Please do not waste time and money here. They don't even have a CT scan here. read more

I am extremely picky about my dentist. Dr. Taylor was my dentist in the mid-90's and I absolutely trusted and admired her. Similar to another post, she fixed a front tooth gap "just because." I've never forgotten that moment and her genuine kindness and how much that little, tiny fill-in improved my smile and self-confidence. I had several procedures over the years with Dr. Taylor and am terrified of needles. I never, ever felt more than a tiny tingle and that was it! I was also able to fully relax in the chair with all the sounds and work going on around me. Her intent and aim is to help you feel as comfortable and relaxed as possible. A reassuring "you're in good hands." I was forced to find another in-network dentist due to contract drops and new jobs over the years. No other dentist came close in comparison. I've had two procedures by other dentists and the shots were horribly painful which caused quite a bit of anxiety that I didn't have before. 18-20 years later, I am thrilled to be back as her patient and if my insurance company decides to switch or drop contracts in the future, I would pay the out-of-network cost just to have Dr.Taylor's level of care. It's what we all want and deserve. If you are looking to switch or new in town looking for a new dentist, look no further. You just found the best dentist in town. read more

I do social media marketing for a living, and refer to Yelp reviews myself to find some definitive answers about what does and does not suck. I also support local businesses and try not to go with chains, even for stuff like health care. So I guess what I'm trying to say is that it pains me to write a review like this for a local, small practice, knowing it's going to be their first negative review. This practice is not for you if you are a chicken or have some serious apprehension about going to the dentist. If that's all you need to know, then you can just skip the rest of the elaboration below. I am a chicken. I'm super difficult to deal with in the dentist chair. I realize this. I also finally got it together enough to realize that my dentist-fear is pretty intense, so I probably need some specialized care. I gave Dr. Taylor a fair shot. I've had two exams, one cavity filled, and one cleaning there. It's just not cutting it. The hygienists are awesome. Office staff is a 50/50 split between understanding and helpful to a pain in the ass. When you haven't received a cleaning in a year or two, you don't need to be made to feel like you should pack up and relocate to the nearest leper colony. My last visit was difficult. I went in to get a cavity filled. I didn't take Valium because I'd recently had a wisdom tooth extraction at an oral surgeon and I dealt with going under pretty well. But when I got to Dr. Taylor's office, I remembered my visit to her before - the one where she quite literally stuck my jaw eight times to try to get me numb, and nothing was working. I know teeth and nerves are fickle things, but I guess I didn't realize how traumatized I was by that until I got there. My problem is not that she didn't get me numb on the previous visit, it's how she acted when I freaked out and asked to reschedule my appointment, with the appropriate sedatives. First of all, she acted like I was asking for crack when I asked for something stronger than valium. Valium doesn't work when your dentist can't get your teeth numb and you freak out. It wears off in the chair. Second, she told me that she would ask office staff to stop putting me on the schedule if I felt I couldn't go through procedures. I get that. You're running a business. But it was the first time I'd ever done that and she was just really uncool about it, y'know? No sympathy at all. Third, she told me that the cavity could wait to be filled another six months, and maybe i could come back after successful treatment after "I straightened out whatever else I had going on in my life." Yes I am dead serious that she said that to me. Especially because life is pretty status quo, dude. I'm just scared_of_the_dentist. Like a lot of other folks I know. I was shocked that she treated me that way. She'd been super cool and caring before. Bad day? I don't know. But I do know there are 15 dentists within a stone's throw of my house, and I'm leaving and taking as many people I referred to her as possible with me. I'm sad that I ever did refer people to her if she's gonna go Jekyll and Hyde on me. The straw that broke the camel's back is when i decided to go to a practice that specializes in treating chickens. I called to ask for my records and was told if I kept having my cleanings at Dr. Taylor's, I wouldn't have to pay the medical records fee. Cool. Plus, I really liked my hygienist. I scheduled a cleaning at Dr. Taylor's, showed up, and was made to pay to have my medical records handed over. Bad business. Seriously. Even if you're a health care professional who went through a ton of schooling and makes bank, you need to figure out that people have a choice. There are a ton of good dentists out there, and the one with the most clients is going to be the one who's patient-oriented. I don't care if you think I'm a psycho because I'm blubbering in your office. Take care of me, or I'm out. With my friends, and the new patients I would have sent to you. read more

I haven't updated my review since shortly after my first visit in 2010. Since then I've been back many, many times in the past two years--mostly for cleanings but also for fillings--unfortunately for me! I'm still very pleased with my choice of dentists. I still find Dr. Taylor to be professional and gentle, and I feel comfortable with and trust her opinions. All of the hygienists I've met I've liked well enough, but after a few cleanings I found one that I love! And you busy people will love this--all of my appointments have begun right on time. What really sells me on this office, though, is the front desk. There is one woman--I wish I could remember her name--that I talk to often and she has worked with me through insurance changes and one pretty strange situation with the dental discount plan I use (I find it to be a good value). I really feel like I have someone on my side there--she is someone willing to pick up the phone and give me a call ahead of my appointment to work out whatever out instead of letting me find out after the fact there was an issue or worse. This has saved me a lot of money! I really can't think of any complaints, so I'll leave it at that! read more

I went to Dr. Taylor almost a decade ago to have her give me a quote on fixing the gap between my front teeth. As a poor college student back in the day who was extremely self conscious my smile, I knew I was not financially prepared to have the work done just yet, but I was willing to save my pennies for as long as it would take! Dr. Taylor was extremely professional and efficient, while remaining compassionate. She put "temporary veneers" on my front two teeth and told me to pay her back when I had the money one day. Ten years later, my so-called "temporary" veneers (that are supposed to last a few years before you have to get them replaced) are still part of my adult smile! I don't live in Austin anymore, but if I did, I wouldn't get my teeth cleaned, capped, filled or veneered by any other dentist. We've been seeing her for quite a few years, and I can only say that we have always been pleased with her professionalism, dental skill, and friendly attitude. Her hygienists have always been excellent, and the office staff could not be more helpful and friendly. Dr. Taylor is really good at explaining things to me, and is always concerned about my comfort/pain when performing a procedure. I never feel pressured in her office. I've been seeing Dr Taylor for over 12 years and she is wonderful. I sent my mother to her when she moved to Austin, I sent my husband (who hated dentists and hadn't been to one in 20 years) and he thinks she is great and I recently brought my daughter to Dr Taylor to get evaluated for an implant for a missing tooth and my daughter liked her better than her pediatric dentists! I actually thoroughly enjoy going to the dentists now! Knowledgeable front deskers with a fabulous sense of humor. You're immediately put at ease as soon as you walk in the door. Shari is the assistant who I've always had and she is awesome! Love love love that she is so gentle, thorough, and knowledgeable, all with a cheeky fun glint in her eye. Dr Jeanne Taylor is wonderful - The best dentist I have ever been to (and I've been to a lot...). She genuinely cares about your individual needs and is even there if you need her after hours in an emergency. To be honest, one of the reasons I tried Dr. Taylor was because of the 1 star review below. The patient sounded like a drama queen. I thought "I'd like to try this doctor who stood up to the whiny patient, and I'll bet she's great and also no-nonsense." Well, Dr. Taylor is SUPER nice and obviously knows what she's doing. I also didn't feel patronized or berated by her for the fact that my gums were in such bad shape, which frankly bothers me more about seeing a new dentist than any dental work being done! It was just: "Here's what we need to do, and you'll be fine!" And Kim at the front desk is great. She was very helpful with my insurance and gave me some tips for taking care of my gums when I don't feel like flossing. read more

Dr. Taylor is a superb dentist--totally competent and totally honest--and she's a very nice woman. I've had some serious work done over the ten years she has been my dentist--a root canal, a couple of caps, and several fillings. But most years, Dr. Taylor concluded that I didn't need anything beside my routine teeth cleaning--she doesn't manufacture work if nothing needs doing. Jeanne Taylor is the WORST DENTIST; 1 star is too good for her! She should be stripped of her license. She was unprofessional and showed no care. She caused me the worst pain for 12 weeks; It was continuous and never went away! And she could not care less about the pain that she caused me. In fact, she washed her hands of it as if she did not cause it, but I was able to eat anything before she worked on me, regardless if the food was hard or soft, hot or cold. After the first time she worked on me, I could no longer eat anything as I did before. And now after 3 months, I found a dentist that was able to help me, but I still cannot eat all the foods that I did before Jeanne Taylor touched my teeth. Stay away from this dentist. She lies to get your money. Don't trust her. Find another dentist. I'm only writing this review in hope's to prevent someone else from going through what I have been going through. read more

Excellent team of dental professionals and staff. After avoiding routine dental maintenance for a number of years - I recently sought help with a dental problem and found a solution with Dr Taylor. Her team of hygienist, dental assistants and front office staff are very polite and professional in their demeanor. Dr Taylor not only took care of an urgent dental need, she also set in place a "catch up schedule" to allow me to bring my dental maintenance to a current state. The process was not painless but was certainly tolerable. I am looking forward to continuing the process and encouraged to return to a regular maintenance schedule to avoid further periodontal damage. If anyone else has avoided routine dental and wonders how to get started - give Susan a call and Dr Taylor will help return to a healthy dental state. I've been going to Jeanne Taylor for several years. Originally I picked her because I knew someone else with her same name. Very glad now that I did. Although I've moved and the location isn't as super convenient as it once was, it is still pretty convenient being right off Mopac, and it's worth it for me. Jeanne obviously takes pride in her work as a dentist. She takes extra time to make sure your bite is right after doing work, I really appreciate that. I think her fees are reasonable. Also, the one time I had a dental emergency she made room to see me that day. There was a time where going to the dentist was very stressful for me, but I haven't felt that way in a long time! read more

Dr. Taylor and her staff are great. I hadn't been to the dentist in a while and knew I probably was going to be needing a bit of work done in addition to a cleaning. Dr. Taylor took care of all of it and there was virtually no discomfort whatsoever. She patiently explained all of my options and also explained not only what she was doing, but also why she was doing it. Her assistants and hygienists were also very friendly and professional. Her administrative staff likewise were diligent and handled all of the scheduling and billing issues without incident.
