Fast, honest service at great prices. Jeb was the first person on big island to help me with my car troubles and I refuse to go anywhere else! Being a single woman I'm always afraid mechanics will try to up charge me but Jeb has always been honest and shows me how to keep my charges down whenever I need work done. Had to be the worst experience ever in getting my vehicle repaired. Had a clutch issue, and after one week they could not figure out the problem. I got the vehicle back, without any resolution. The owner seemed clueless to the situation. Not an apology or anything. It's amazing. The tech working on my car darted out of the office when I arrived. They should not consider themselves a repair shop. Since I live on the other side of the island it is critical to get the right communication. I wasted two days because of their inept communication. If you need a repair done, forget it. If you need a safety check, they are spot on. But never expect a returned call. I do not think they understand the business they are in, because "service" at best, "SUCKS"!!!!!!!! I would give them negative stars, if there was such a thing. Sad, they could do better if they at least knew how to communicate. From what I can see from the repair end, they are not the best. Maybe, a little training will help. Never again. Worst car experience I've ever had in my life!! And most expensive consequently. Took my car in for a simple rear brake job. And possible wheel bearing. I have drum brakes in the rear. Mechanic hammered on it with a hammer so badly that he broke my brake lines. But of course it was not their fault because my undercarriage is rusty as the car came from the mid west. (As if it was the only rusty car they have ever worked on) One piece in particular I was told is a "dealer" part. All of my brake fluid poured out and my car was unsafe to drive. Jeb's kept my car parked on the road for 2 1/2 weeks without touching it. They told me the dealer part was on order and they had no idea when it would arrive. I asked about tracking it and was told it only says "in transit" and they could not say where it was coming from or when it would get there. I wanted some other work done and asked when they would even begin work on that. Was told Monday. The beginning of the 3rd week of them having my car. Also told the part "should have" arrived by then. On the finish of that mondays work day I called for a status update on my car. Was told oh we have "bad news" the part came in and it's the wrong one!! I couldn't believe it. Asked when I could expect the correct part and was told that I was at "the mercy" of whatever dealership would send it and they were just going to have to wait on a call back!! At my wits end I found the part online myself and paid an extra $6 for expedited shipping. I arranged for my vehicle to be towed to Lex Brodies in Waimea. Because of extenuating circumstances they allowed me to bring in my own part. (Of course after hearing I had been without my only vehicle for almost three weeks and had to rent a car for two weeks at that point) I ordered my part on Wednesday of the third week of not having my car and it arrived the following Monday! 3 1/2 business days!! It was not special ordered from a dealership on the mainland. I got it from Rock Auto an online part store and it came 2 full days ahead of their predicted arrival date. I took my part to Lex Brodies and my car was finished the next day. I cannot even believe how easy it was for me to basically take care of it on my own. If Jebs had been honest with me from the first day I would have had my car by the end of that first week. At the end of this experience I am out close to $2000 dollars. Jebs quoted me $960 to do my wheelbearing/all rear brake lines/ and a full rear brake job plus they did cut my front rotors as it turned out that was my original problem not my rear brakes as I had assumed. Lex Brodies assured me that barring the damage caused by someone beating the rear hubs with a hammer I did not need rear brakes at all and charged me $600 for all of the work they did. I ended up paying Jeb $100 for the front rotors/over $400 for a budget rental car/ $500 on a credit card so Budget could put a hold for the rental/$100 to borrow a car from a friend the first few days/and $600 to Lex Brodies. This has been the most expensive brake job I ever had. And the longest I have ever gone with out my car. Almost one full month. 2 1/2 weeks of which my car simply sat on the road as I waited for the wrong part to come in. I would not consider using this garage again if it was the last one on this island. I would youtube it and attempt to fix it myself. My alternator died on Friday and everything was perfect on Monday. Big deal you might say? Well I threw Jeb a curve ball on Monday morning before he had finished replacing the alternator by asking him to fix my wobbly brakes that I forgot to mention on Friday. He not only finished the charging system and belt he had repaired my bad brakes. The cost for everything was less that he quoted and I couldn't be happier.
