You just don't see that often and I wanted to try it. The stars aligned and my family and I met up here for a weeknight dinner. Alvin is the true definition of a small town. It is just south of Pearland and life moves a little slower out here. Atleast for time being as it is becoming more developed now. The building itself is old and full of character. Everyone seemed to know each other. The staff was very welcoming and friendly, but service was a tad bit slow at times. My family isn't a big drinking family so we stuck with water and sodas, but they have quite a nice bar program here. They have a really impressive beer selection, a long list of specialty cocktails and lots of wine to choose from. I'm definitely coming back to check that out without the fam. For appetizers, we got an order of the scotch eggs and the Bavarian pretzel sticks. This was my first introduction to scotch eggs and a wonderful one at that. We met on the early side of the evening and were seated right away. Our server was super nice and very helpful. We ordered drinks and later ordered our meals. The drinks were tasty. I ordered the Fried Seafood Platter. It was very good and had a lot of seafood on it. I ate less than half of it and took the rest home for dinner the next night. My wife ordered Fish Tacos and felt they were "okay" - not extraordinary. She too took half her meal home to eat the next day.
