For 5 adults and 4 kids, we order: - Large Platter of brisket: tender and not the juiciest but definitely not dry! It has good flavor even without sauce. - Large platter of pulled pork: nothing special, but good nonetheless - Large platter of sausage: solid sausage! - Steak Fingers basket: very nostalgic, reminded me like a more refined version of DQ's! - Kid's chicken tenders: the chicken were a bit dry but the portion was huge for a kid's platter! Each of the larger platters came with two sides. My favorites were the corn casserole and the broccoli salad. Overall, the barbecue here was good! Pleasantly surprised at the food. We got a variety of sausage, brisket, pulled pork, and sides. Everything was good! Outside the traditional BBQ menu, I recommend the steak and chicken fingers. Comes with gravy and fries. The fried batter was delicious. Although the meat tasted under very seasoned, the gravy sort of made up for it. Solid bbq spot that is good for large groups. Stopped by after an activity filled morning and ordered a little bit of everything. The meats were solid. The pulled pork was juicy, the sausage snappy, and the brisket had a good flavor and was quite tender. For the sides: mac and cheese was extremly creamy and cheesy, kids loved it. The potato salad was average, I think it was a bit sweet for my tastes. Green beans were a good consistency between crisp and soft while the corn casserole was comforting. The chicken tenders and steak fingers come with classic white gravy. It's hard to go wrong when fried food is dunked in gravy. Surprisingly, the stand out were the fries. It was a tasty burger. The bun fell apart a bit though. I mostly ate it with a fork and knife cuz I didn't want to deal with messy hands. It is a cafeteria place so I got my food in line and took it to the table. They have a roamer wait person helping around the restaurant who got me stuff I forgot in line like napkins. There is a jalepeno, lettuce, onion and pickle bar for your burger. I had the unsweet tea. It is a nice pace for a burger and fries. There is bbq too. I will do that next time. read more

I just tried Big Horn for the first time for a late lunch. Affixed with a gas station, what a nice Texas treat for locals and travelers passing through the area. Drive thru I ordered my food through the drive thru. There was only one car ahead of me and things moved fairly quickly but yet slow enough for me to know my food wasn't gonna be thrown together. The young man that helped me was very polite, efficient and respectful. Food There's plenty of options for all palates so it's easy to indulge or eat more sensibly. All reasonably priced. There's even a good variety of kids' menu option. My single side of Okra was larger. The Okra itself was crispy and well but not overly seasoned. Brisket - tender, tasty, no frills, not overly seasoned and well cooked. I had forgotten to tell them if I wanted moist or lean so I was pleased to find they had gotten it just right. The turkey was juicy and like the brisket not overly seasoned. Everything tasted as if it was cooked at just the right temperature for just the right amount of time. Drink The unsweet tea was perfect and made with filtered water. It had no icky tap water taste. Cons The only cons are that I didnt receive any complimentary pickles, onions or peppers. Next time I'll have to remember to ask for them as I wasn't asked if I wanted to add them. Also I was expecting the jalapeno cheese bread to be a little cheesier and a little more jalapeno-y. We stopped here on our way back from goat yoga on one of the farms. We were skeptical since connected to a gas station and it had mixed reviews, but it was really good. I had the bbq potato and the potato was very large and cooked well so it was soft all the way through. The brisket was good and not too fatty (which I prefer). My husband had the 2 meat plate and enjoyed it. The star of the show, however, was the fried okra. It was cooked perfectly, crispy but not burnt. Okra was well done and not slimy, and it was seasoned well. I'm picky about fried okra, but this was honestly some of the best I've had. 3/5/2025 - Our first time there, went with 5 persons. Overall it was 5 stars and went down to 2 stars due to a male person in our group was locked in the mens bathroom and only my comped $25 for 30 minutes of suffering in there. Ordered 3 fully loaded baked potatoes with brisket and 1 rib meal to be shared with 2 persons. Food was excellent. Brought out in 10 minutes. They changed the locks this morning we were told. Locked inside was an only man in his 50s and they never said sorry. Food was 5 stars and the care for patrons a total of 3 stars taken off For every 10 minutes locked in the bathroom. Imagine if a small child. We were about to call the fire department. Guy said our friend did it and then he got locked in when he repeated what my friend did. Oh my this place. WOW Big Horn BBQ is now serving the food on an aluminum tray with paper to put your food on. Your sides are served in little paper tubs. No dishes like a real restaurant. We will check the next time before we drive over to see if they have changed back to actual plates and small bowls. You have to wonder what the paper has been exposed to that has soaked into it. 8 months later and the same, identical experience as previous review. Same whining And denying of containers for sides, more whining when I ask for tie wraps so pickle / jalapeño juice does not coat other containers in bag or truck upholstery. Luckily this time I remembered to check bag before leaving and found the quart of pintos and 1/2 pint bbq sauce laying sideways in bottom of bag. Hello , I had a SOUTHWEST SALAD with brisket the other day and the salad was big but they only give you 1 little bitty cup of dressing that do not do anything to the salad. They need to include 2 or 3 cups of dressing because that 1 little cup is not enough. Then they want to charge you 75 cent more for another cup after they were told that the salad is too huge for the 1 little cup of dressing. Hopefully they have improvements after this because I would have enjoyed it more if I had more dressing. read more

The brisket has been ruined by an awful lot of pepper on the top. What happened to just smoking a good brisket. The flavor of whatever it is ruins the entire piece of meat. This review is based only upon the ready-made breakfast tacos that are available in the mornings - I haven't yet had the chance to enjoy the rest of the food, but will update the review when I do. I stopped in this morning on my way past Big Horn to see about their breakfast tacos. We LOVE breakfast tacos in my house and there can be some really tasty ready-made ones, so I gave these a try. I got the brisket breakfast burrito ($4.5) and a potato and egg taco ($2.5). I was super enticed by the ingredients listed on the burrito, but unfortunately either there wasn't much of each ingredient or it wasn't spread out well because I felt like I only got a couple bites that had beans and brisket and the overall size wasn't much bigger than the taco. Also, beware of the lighter/greenish salsa - this is sweet not spicy and really threw me. If you want a mildly spicy salsa, choose the red. The potato and egg taco was more satisfying IMO - it was filled all the way up w/ both ingredients in good proportions. If I return for their breakfast again, I'll probably just stick w/ the tacos! read more

This is a pretty good bbq place for dinner. We came on a Sunday night and it wasn't too busy or too noisy for eat-in. Take out was doing a booming business as well. The atmosphere is relaxed and the restaurant is large. We had pulled pork and ribs but the nachos looked mighty tasty. I ordered a 2 meat plate and it was awful. The brisket was very fatty and the parts that wasn't was dry. Seemed like it was old or not freshly made. The ribs were a little dry as well. The loaded mashed potatoes were pretty good. I didn't like the jalapeño bread and when I came in for dessert and asked for a regular piece of bread because I didn't like other, I was appalled when I was asked to bring in the other bread or pay .50 for a regular piece. So I'm curious to know what they planned to do with the bread they wanted me to bring in. Also all of the staff standing around looking at me like there was a big problem with the slice of bread made me feel very uncomfortable. A slice of bread should be a courtesy. Every time I come to this establishment, I'm never completely satisfied so this will be my last. The reviews reflect changes are needed. read more

Big horn BBQ is sort of like the McDonald's of barbecue in the sense that you're going to get a pretty standardized product, nothing great, but nothing bad either. Out of all the products that I've had here, I would say the best is their brisket. Yes, it is not the most tender, but it is flavorable and juicy. The value for what you get is a little bit less than I would like,but the prices are not as exorbitant as some of the other barbecue establishments in our area. I lean towards the 2 meat combos. The BBQ beans are good. Although the salad is a little light on ingredients. Their potato salad is passable. The pulled pork sandwich is a little dry for my taste even when paired their decent BBQ sauce. Service is efficient and it is usually crowded so plan ahead. The bread pudding is only soso and I notice they don't use any kind of rum sauce. The peach cobbler is actually quite good particularly when paired with the little tiny vanilla ice cream from Blue Bell. I like my peach cobbler to taste like fresh peaches with just the right amount of bread and not too much sugar on top. read more
