Shopper beware, if less than 1 star were possible, I would. Saw a vehicle on car gurus, and their site. My husband, a master mechanic and world class coachbuilder called on it & spoke to the manager, specifically asking if it had any mechanical issues. We had already checked the VIN and knew it had an accident in its history. The manager asserted that it was in good mechanical shape. My husband took 3 hours off work (a $250 loss), drove 60+ miles to pick me up, and we drove another 100+ miles to see it with intention of purchasing (this, at chicago rush hour, totaled 3 hours driving for him). We had an appointment with the sales manager, who was NOT there when we arrived. Upon beginning test drive, such a significant front end issue (binding, clunking) existed that my husband wouldnt leave the lot with it. It was literally unsafe to drive over 15 miles an hour, and even that was questionable. Expected cost to make driveable? $1000 at my husbands cost, without paying labor. It would have required a 100+ mile flatbed tow to purchase. After another 1.5 return drive home, left us at 5 wasted hours, 250 miles put on my Mercedes, for what was ultimately a complete scam being perpetrated by the dealer. This is the WORST behavior I have seen from a 'legitimate' authorized factory dealer. When I make that statement, that is saying something. Bear in mind, I am a 25 year automotive spokesperson for 9 manufacturers (including GM), a former GM employee, and for several years a star salesperson with the Van Tuyl Group (now owned by Berkshire Hathaway). This blatant misrepresentational/scam behavior would NEVER have been acceptable at any of my Van Tuyl GM dealers. That is how fly-by-night buy here pay here lots operate, and not at all acceptable modus operandi per GM standards. I recently purchased a used car Jeff Perry Buick. I noticed an error message regarding refrigerant the following day and was told to bring it in and they would look at it. The purchase was "as is" so this was appreciated. I also heard there were issues with the engine type in the 2000 Eldorado I purchased, so I checked with the service department regarding the most recent coolant change and I purchased a flush and new coolant replacement. Finally I had purchased a new emblem for the trunk of the car online and asked them to install it. It was brand new. They installed it at no charge, but cracked the emblem and did not notify me. So overall i give the experience a "5" and given that I need to travel 100 miles for service, I'm guessing I can get "5" service closer to home. I have to give them credit for offering a link to yelp to provide feedback on their service. I just want to say that these guys contacted me and promised to resolve the issue. That's a quick turn around. If they do that for a used car purchase, I have to think that purchasing a new car from them is a safe bet. read more

Took her time to show both the wife and I how the OnStar work in the new car I bought from them and also set my wife's car up even though we hadn't purchased it from them. We drove all the way from Chicago today because we found a car online we liked. We stood out in the rain for 15 minutes and then inside for 10 minutes, then back in the rain for another 15. Not one salesperson came to help us. The only salespeople we saw were moving the cars around and talking. A guy from the garage was walking outside and my husband made a comment about lack of service and he just looked at us and walked back in. We will never drive out to buy a car here again. I had an experience while purchasing a used truck.i went to look at it .the salesman told me to have a seat and he would get the truck and bring it to the front for me.he did just that.but he didn't tell me about the exhaust leak that goes away after it warms up.now mind you it was plenty loud for anyone to hear.turns out it is either a exhaust manifold gasket or a bad manifold.i feel the salesman,whose name is gerriet ,took advantage of the sale and didn't tell me about it to only do the sale.thank you for the time to read this but above all don't buy anything through salesman GERRIET! read more

I just bought a vehicle on 2/16/2019. To begin with, the check engine light came on 5 miles after I left the dealer, the front windows don't want to come up. Today, 2/26/2019, I checked the oil and it was 3 quarts low. I would not recommend going there for a vehicle. Should have listened to the reviews. Very disappointed. read more

I just started working here as a Sales Representative and so far, everyone seems really nice! I was worried about selling cars at first because everyone thinks of Car Salesmen as sleazy and dishonest. But the people here have been really great! The employees even bring their kids in on their days off sometimes just to visit! And our training here is VERY particular about how to treat our customers. They tell us that every customer should be treated like an honored guest in our home. I know i work here and people will think im biased, but that really got to me. I've been in Sales for most of my career, and i have NEVER had an employer tell me to treat the customer like a friend and not a prospect. If there was a rating for a minus no stars, that is what I would choose. I made the rounds while choosing a vehicle to replace mine. After my experience with just speaking to the salesman at Jeff Perry, I drove home and made my car take a shower. I am a senior, a grandmother and went in to Jeff Perry by myself. The salesman pounced on me. I said the price that I could not go over, and he nodded then trotted out this huge 4x4. For a senior! He said " a light on the dashboard comes on but it's ok, don't pay attention to it." It took some doing when I asked what the price was. He was very evasive, always. " Only this many dollars a month" he kept saying. Finally after much insisting, he told me the price which was double what I told him I could afford. I asked why he pulled this stunt and he said he had to say what the manager told him to say. But before we got to his admission, there was a customer into Jeff Perry for service and we got to talking while the salesman made one of his trips to see if the manager "could do better.". This customer had purchased the vehicle there and kept having trouble again and again. It was either go there or 50 miles away as not everyone worked on that particular brand and model. He thought he was not getting the best service, someone working for Jeff Perry even told him so, but he didn't want to go too far to fix a vehicle that constantly had troubles. For some time after my visit to Jeff Perry, the salesman kept calling me at home wanting to know if decided on buying a vehicle from them. Finally I just quit answering the call when it showed it was from them. I finally did get a vehicle to replace the one I had - from another dealer. The salesman at this other dealer seemed better than most. He used to work for Jeff Perry but after seeing what was going on he left. read more

He was very courteous and pleasant to deal with, and really worked with me on the price to make it possible for me to get the exact car I wanted. He even drove it all the way out to Milwaukee for me so that I didn't have to trek out to Peru, IL to buy it! Jeff Perry is an honest car dealership to do business with. They gave me a much better deals than a dealer down the road that had a similar car. I had a good experience from beginning to end. Complete waste of time! My boyfriend spoke with amber about 2008 tahoe he saw online. She told him that it was still available and set up an appointment to test drive it. We came from 2 1/2 hrs away to see this vehicle. Amber told my boyfriend that since we were coming from far, she would have the tahoe pulled up to the front and make sure that no one else would test drive it. He called amber to inform her we were on our way and would arrive about 4:30. Upon our arrival, there was the tahoe up front with a sales woman putting a dealer plate for another couple to test drive the vehicle we specifically made an appointment to see. A salesman asked if he could help us. We told him we basically wasted our time driving out there for them to not back up their word. DEFINITELY NOT recommending to anyone! This is definitely not the way to conduct a business! My boyfriend is a business owner and we will definitely inform others of our experience with this unprofessional and incompetent dealership. read more

I remembered 2 other thing that happened at jeff perry.I had a loud ticking noise that I asked them about they told me it was normal and nothing to worry about, I did some research on the interweb and found out its dirty fuel injectors, makes sense since I drive on a lot of gravel roads. so got a bottle of redline fuel system clean and noise was way softer I could barley hear it.. Another thing that happened was, I got my tire's rotated along with a oil change. so I start getting a wobbling sound coming from the front tire and take it back to jeff perry, matt tells me its cause of mudd on the tires and they need to balanced and tells me if I want to prevent this that I shouldn't get mud on my tire's, witch doesn't really make any sense to me since I get mud on tires everyday and no sound happens, what happened is they rotated my tires and it put them off balance then charged my more when a problem arose and then lied to me about it. read more
