Bower, Hubble, and Wheaton Warrenville South High School. Still struggling from trauma inflicted from both staff and peers alike. But this is symptomatic of all government-funded public schools. I will admit, some of the teachers here were amazing. But good teachers within a broken system can only do so much. And even some of the ones I liked would more or less blow me off. Unless you have immense confidence and your parents have a good source of income, you won't get far with the arts programs here. Unfortunately, I had neither. Also, the amount of homework is insane, and there wasn't really any good support for me in being able to manage it all. I feel bad for the teachers, because I know some of them did their best, staying after school to help me. But alas, I had to drop out my junior year at 17, partially because I was behind credits and still technically a sophomore. The other part, well, the bullying and complete social isolation. I guess that is why I am here now reviewing this 7 years later, as it was my anniversary of that day a few days ago. I really can't bring myself to give this any more than 1 star, sorry.

First open house ~ some woman thinks SHE can determine where we can sit. I DON'T THINK SO. I later learned that this "Entitled" attitude runs rampant. Principal is extremely proud of their "legacy" policy. Let me get this straight ~ you would rather accept an "F" caliber student who has siblings attending or parents who attended rather then a "B" student with NO previous ties to this school? The resounding "yes" sealed the deal. Get the picture? Our education dollars were spent at another private school.

There is a club for just about any/every interest. The school is very large and competitive on both an academic and sports level. NNHS offers tons of options for career exploration so students can tap into their interests and find out where they may want to go after high school. For many coming out of NNHS this means getting a college degree however NNHS does educate students on options outside of the traditional college route. NNHS provides students with the tools necessary to be successful in and after high school.

We chose Joan Treland because of her work with learning disabled kids but she has never bothered to interview us to see what our child was like or what special needs our child has. In fact she was insulting to him during a tutoring session! The staff has likewise been rude to me. Seems like she may have the degrees, but not the compassion we were looking for. The office is dated, crowded and disorganized. The secretaries sell olive oil on the side, unprofessional. We won't be back for the school year.

They love the learning, nurturing and caring environment at the school. We truly believe in montessori methodology as the kids learn and master the concepts using concrete techniques. We're happy that DuPage Montessori has exceeded our expectations. The Teachers at Dupage montessori are extremely dedicated, passionate and love sharing their knowledge with the students. They go above and beyond to make the child feel comfortable, teach relevant material, demonstrate science experiments, nature walks with kids and countless productive/fun projects. While the children may be advancing academically, they are also taught to develop as a person and become leaders, be respectful, compassionate, develop good character, friendly through various community building exercises. I had to help more as the level increased. Wish all homework was covered in class, but follow-up support helped.
