    Consistently perfect brisket

Yes, it's safe to say I'm addicted and will be asking friends and family for gift cards, lol. I've been here now several times and will give the pitmaster his kuddos because the consistency of the food is on point every time. Speaking of consistency, every visit I've had the pleasure of being taken care of by Dezaree. Who is a star. Even though the location is a little off the grid for me, it's worth the scavenger hunt.

Celebrating a couple of birthdays at Jefferson Street BBQ. Called for a reservation bc we had 7 people. We were seated as soon as we got there. Just a great place to eat amazing BBQ. Friendly staff and a great atmosphere. Only negative, if you want to call it that, we ordered the wedge salad, which is good, was served in a metal bowl. Made it really difficult to eat. Other than that we had a great time.

Expect this if you order The Jeff Plate for $20.

We tried to give them a chance--multiple times. The changes made in 2023 would make you think there is a new owner or something. The identity that was once great, affordable food in the local neighborhood has come and gone. We used to love going to Jefferson, but now the prices have gone up, the quality of food has gone down, the customer service is inadequate, and the menu has been obsolete. I ordered a Jeff Plate, formerly The Jefferson Plate. It was $6 more than what it was a year ago. I received the portion that did not measure up to what I was led to believe I'd receive. After asking if the plate was truly what I should expect from this new plate (photo below), I was told yes--it measures out; how one single rib measures out is beyond me. We will NOT be returning.

I have absolutely nothing bad to say about this place!! The restaurant is so cute and the vibes are great. The service is always astounding and the food is more than worth the trip! The prices are really good for the portion sizes you get. If you don't know what to get, you could really just close your eyes and point at the menu - there's not a wrong choice here! I recommend the Mac wrap - it's large enough and you can definitely share it if you want.

We came here to eat on a Saturday afternoon for a work event. We called ahead and made reservations. I think calling ahead of time helped out a lot because our server was only helping our tables. The service was TOP NOTCH! Again, I say that because I think it helped that we told them how many people would be coming so they were able to staff appropriately for the day. My husband and I split the Mississinewa which comes with 4 meats and 4 sides. We chose the brisket, wings, pulled pork, ribs, double the mac n' cheese, baked beans, and the jalapeno cornbread. My favorite out of the meal was definitely the baked beans and the wings! Wow they were so good! My only complaint with the meal was the mac n' cheese. It was VERY watery (almost like a soup). If I was in the area again, I would come back but would order something different next time. They had a great menu with lots of variety!

Excellent menu, the salads are wonderful,my favorite is the Blu Wedge. It is scrumptious!!! I usually get the brisket and my husband gets the chicken. It is always top notch. The meatloaf looks delicious, that will be the next dish we try. Their white chicken chili was so so fo me, needs more spice. Cornbread was ok. The baked beans are really good also. The Coleslaw was suited more for my husband, it was more vinegar based. They have a nice selection on the menu for beer and mixed drinks are available. The atmosphere is very low key, TVS are up high for viewing.

My first visit, I chose the Barnyard Burner Burger special. It came with pulled pork, spicy BBQ sauce, and cheese. But what was amazing about the burger was how soft, fresh, and smoky the hamburger meat was! I hadn't had a burger like this in years! I even liked it more than the BBQ, which if you follow my Yelp...that is very high praise! This week, I had the pulled pork and brisket with potato salad and beans. All phenomenal! The pulled pork is perfectly tender and smoky! I liked the pork more than the brisket but the brisket is 4 stars on its own. The potato salad has a lightly sweet mustard base to it with some eggs and relish mixed in. I enjoyed the beans more than the potato salad as the beans were in some kind of sweet and smoky conglomeration made in the back with brown sugar as a key ingredient. There are 4 sauces and I usually try to rank sauces, but I couldn't do it with these. They are all worthy on their own merit. The four sauces and a brief description are: Classic - mildly sweet tomato with a little pepper Sweet and Smoky - very sweet with a smoky taste and ketchup base Tangy - part vinegar, part tomato, all tangy Sue Tang - spicy mild to medium BBQ sauce, tomato base The one downside and it's common being a Southerner in the Mid-West is there is usually no sweet tea and if there is, it isn't sweet enough. They told me their tea maker was broke but there is a Kroger that has Milo's Sweet Tea that I have been allowed to carry in both times. Make a trip to Bluffton for Yergy's BBQ or Burgers. They are only open Thursday-Sunday.

There was a lot of food for the price, and the ribs had plenty of meat on them. The food was ready surprisingly fast, probably within 7 to 10 minutes. The staff was friendly throughout the visit and did a great job checking in on us, clearing trays, and making sure everything was going well. As for the atmosphere, I can appreciate the theme they were going for, even if it's not quite my style. The dining room is pretty dark, and the dark murals make it feel even darker. That said, the food and service easily made up for it. Overall, it was a really good experience and a place I'd happily visit again.
