Jeffreeze. Period. I'm a local, and I will tell you that even in the dead of winter, during an ice storm, at 8PM, there will be a line at Jeffreeze. They have hundreds of options for ice cream. I try something new every time. I'm not even a sundae person, but the sundaes here are kick-ass. Almond Joy sundae is one of my favorites. Their portions are considerably generous for hand made ice cream (not factory garbage like Hershey that you get at most places). If you get something you don't like, trust me... try another flavor! There's a BILLION flavors, you are bound to not be keen on at least one or two. For every one flavor that turned you off, there will be six more that get you hooked again. At $3 for a mountain of ice cream, can you really complain? To whomever complained about flies, you are in a salt marsh in the pine barrens. There are pine flies here. Go home. We stopped for ice cream on our way home from dinner the other night. There was a pretty good-sized line out front, so we figured it must be worth the wait and decided to give it a try. After waiting about 8-10 minutes, I made it to the window, where Emily took my order. Unfortunately, the customer service I received was disappointing. There was no greeting or friendly interaction at all. After I paid, I extended my hand to receive my change, but instead of placing it in my hand, she tossed it onto the counter. I found that extremely rude and unnecessary. I also ordered two pup cups with peanut butter, but unfortunately, that portion of our order was incorrect as well. Instead of what I ordered, we received regular pup cups with a Milk-Bone. While this may seem like a small detail, when a customer specifically orders something a certain way--especially when it is for their pets--it's important that the order is prepared correctly. What bothered me even more was what happened next. After I stepped away from the window, I heard Emily greet the next customer very warmly--asking how they were and how she could help them. It was a noticeably different level of friendliness and hospitality from what I had just received. Every customer should be treated with the same level of courtesy, respect, and professionalism. I'm not simply someone passing through town; I recently purchased a home on Mystic Island and genuinely enjoy supporting local businesses. However, it makes it difficult to want to continue supporting a small business when you leave feeling as though you were treated differently from the customer standing right behind you. With that said, your ice cream was absolutely fabulous, and your sundae selection is top-tier! There is clearly a lot to love about your business. I just hope some additional attention is given to customer service, order accuracy, and hospitality, particularly making sure all customers are greeted and treated equally and respectfully. My absolute favorite ice cream place in the area. We go here year round, even in the winter! They have limited hours in the off season, but their ice cream is just as good as it is during the hot summer months. Cash only and they're also on Grubhub for deliveries. You would think that an ice cream spot that's mostly outdoors would not have a line to wait in New Jersey in December, but you'd be wrong. They made it comfortable with heat lamps while you wait and the order location is tarped off but it was still cold and the wait was 20 minutes with only 4 people ahead of me in line. There was only one worker staffed there. She was very nice and doing her best. But if this location is always that busy all year, they need more staff. The ice cream itself was ok. Nothing to write home about. But it wasn't bad. I ordered a pistachio cup. Sub par to pistachio gelato at other places. My son got a black and white milkshake. He said it was "ok". My other son got a butterfinger shake or something like that. It was good but so thick and they gave you a regular straw. They really need the thicker milk shake straws. read more

This little small town, roadside ice cream shack is nothing to look at but their ice cream is good. I tried the soft serve vanilla and it was really creamy. It was served in a bowl with the cone on top. The prices here are reasonable and the serving size is generous. The smallest size for the hard serve is called "baby" and it comes with 2 scoops! For a small place, I was surprised to see that they serve shakes, sundaes, hard serve and soft serve with a fairly good variety of flavors. What a waste of time. Got there 51 exact minutes before closing, the girl behind the counter sees me and proceeds to close the lights and dash to her car. Not kidding it was one of the weirdest things we've ever seen. Went to double check the hours and it confirmed I wasn't crazy. Not even like subtle either, actual eye contact, shuts lights, and runs out the back door to start her car 51 minutes before their posted closing time. I'm not sure if the worker had plans or just regularly closes shop almost an hour early, but it's amazing to see the lack of decency here. Maybe human interaction is scary, but simply telling someone at your window that the shop is closed seems like the normal thing to do. Jeffreeze is a classic, no denying that. The location hurts them a bit, as during the summer it gets incredibly buggy, and waiting in lines becomes almost unbearable. Investing in bug zappers would definitely help, but until then, this remains a bit of a problem. A very small operation, with what feels like high stress running in the kitchen. Their ice cream is good though, with a lot of flavors to choose from. I would recommend checking it out anytime but the dead of summer to try and avoid some bugs. read more

Oh my goodness! Go to Jeffreeze. Just trust me. It's that good... I love ice cream of all varieties however I usually don't get sundaes but these are simple, huge, and delicious!!! Most start with a soft serve base and feature 3-4 toppings. You can also create your own sundae, and of course they have the standard cup and cone options with usual topping selections. The sundae's are huge but the cones are even bigger!!! The couple small cones I saw ordered were down right massive. One lady had a kiddie size and looked like a standard adult cone. The soft server itself was delicious and didn't taste cheap or overly sweet. The hard ice cream varieties looked good but I didn't try any. Oh yeah, It was CASH ONLY. And the prices are quite cheap considering how much they give you and how good it is. I highly recommend visiting the nice folks at Jeffreeze and try for yourself. So i will say , this place has the best ice cream around. But after this visit i will think twice before i go. Mafe myborder and tryed to hand the kid my debit card and he said sorry we are only accepting cash right now. So i do see on yelp, it says no credit cards yet i saw a credit card machine sitting on top of the register.... He did say i could use the atm on the side of the building, which is a privately owned machine that charges a ridiculous fee andthe owner of jeffreeze im sure gets a kick back from. So in my opinion he is either relying on those kick backs or not reporting his total income to avoid some taxes or both. Not a good business practice read more
