This is a family-owned ice cream parlor that serves soft serve, millshakes, sundaes, and hard ice cream with a bunch of flavors. Theres options with cones, cups, and takeouts. Theres a small area for seating inside and the staff is really friendly and sociable. I've gotten milkshakes, soft-serve cups, and takeouts. All delicious and I was able to ask for samples for the flavors I was unsure of. I can say their ube and ube macupuno flavors were pretty authentic as well. I was assuming this place was going to be like Kohr's Brothers ice cream down the shore and I was wrong. I had the orange twist (which is a staple for any summer night down the shore), and it was disgusting. It tasted like orange chemicals and there was so much food coloring in the ice cream that it stained my tongue orange. My whole family all purchased the same thing and we ALL threw it away. They do have ample seating outside so maybe their other hard ice cream is better but I wouldn't recommend the orange cream. The inside seemed dirty and nothing fancy. Service was friendly so that was nice but I won't be coming back here. The Orange creamsicle at Rita's is actually WAY better. read more

I first saw a post on FaceBook that was showcasing the Ube ice cream and I knew I had to go!! I love anything Ube and Pandan... gives me a feeling of home (and yes I'm Filipina) . I've always seen Kohrs ice cream when I'm visiting my husbands fam at Point Pleasant but never seen these flavors before, so i was intrigued! This location is completely different that the other ones... still a part of their family but they've ventured off with their own unique flavors. First off, customer service is top notch! I wanted to make sure they still had the Ube and Pandan flavor available for when i made the hour trip out. I messaged them on FB and they replied fairly quickly! So thank you for that!! Got confirmation and off I went! Well worth the drive! Ice cream flights are such a great idea! I mean for someone who wants to try a bunch before committing... these flights are for you! They always have new incoming flavors... you just wanna keep coming back! Wish you guys were closer.. wanna expand to Cherry Hill hehe?! Ohhh and they also have other food options including lumpia! Top tier dessert spot with an expansive menu from soft serve to ice cream flights to alcohol infused ice cream. This place is a MUST HAVE hidden gem that you need to experience for yourself. This particular Kohr ice cream place is so incredibly unique from the rest. Hands down, the best ice cream I've ever had in my life, and the best of all the Jersey Shore, which is a serious accomplishment as this area has a lot of great ice cream places. The Ube Macapuno is absolutely heavenly, the best ice cream flavor, and tops any of my historically classic favorites. You can taste the quality and that its freshly handmade in small batches. This is something I noticed is lacking at other competing ice cream places in the area. The owners are wonderful - so welcoming, interactive and friendly. It's family owned, entirely homemade, and they put a lot of effort into creative menu ideas as well as special events for kids. The gratitude they have for their customers is outstanding. I went here just earlier today with my brother, his wife, and their 1 year old son. My little nephew had an absolute blast, and my brother won the ice cream eating contest! It was an excellent and memorable day for our family. One last thing I thought was great about this place: They also offer sugar-free homemade ice cream, a rare find, and really awesome as we have a member of our family who is diabetic. I have Celiac Disease, and there were plenty of gluten-free ice cream flavors on the menu for me to choose from. Great local family ran business. Can't believe it took us so long to come here. They have around 30 handmade flavors. We tried 12 different flavors. All were really good. I believe These are the same jokers that pretended to be like Kohrs on the boardwalk when they were at Pine Cone down the road. Just had some freezer burned FREE cherry ice and some awful shakes from a dirty place during half price day.The place isn`t very clean or organized its kind of Piney which is ok,but the shakes I could do on my own machine or self serve machines at wawa. Are they paying boardwalk Kohrs residuals on the marketing? You can simply go to Jefreeze up the road to get one of the best or other places,this is a disaster.The people were nice. read more

I'll start by saying that Louis L. that wrote a bad review must be on crack. He obviously doesn't know good ice cream, nor the history of the owner of Kohr Ice Cream, Paul Kohr. It's rumored that Jeffreeze, up the road, serves Turkey Hill Ice cream - they do NOT make their own ice cream on site. Kohr Ice Cream on Rte 9 makes their ice cream on site, has a good selection of delicious ice cream, and they will do what they can to accommodate you. My favorite flavors are the vanilla/black cherry, the vanilla/blueberry(yes, Jersey berries), and the peanut butter fudge.
