I was in the market for a new dentist since my original one was lazy and not very detailed. The second dentist I found was shady. So I called Dr Ko's office for a third opinion. I shared the quote and X-rays from my second dentist who I felt was overpriced. Nia, Dr Ko's front desk lady/dental assistant, was extremely knowledgeable and courteous. She took the time to explain the costs. Dental insurance is billed per surface of a tooth. Each tooth has 4 surfaces. Nia explained that the second dentist was charging me for two separate surfaces for each adjacent teeth needing work-- hence the cost. Dr Ko charged one cost for both sides in between two teeth. The quote she gave me matched what I paid at the end. No tricks, no up sell. From all my dental experiences, Dr Ko's strikes me as one of the most ethical and gentle dentists. He is quiet and skillful. I've been here twice and both times service have been quick, painless, and pleasant. I am very pleased with Dr Ko and highly recommend him.

Second, it only takes less than 10 minutes to clean my tooth. The dentist asked for $75 for filling. After I agreed and started, the dentist said it will be another $75 fee because it needs some more work. Totally $150. I was so mad and just wanted to have it done. After I paid $150 with my credit card and I ask for receipt. The receptionist said no receipt will be issued until after 2 weeks. To confirm that they have the money. So if I need a receipt, I have to go back one more time and don't know that will I get my $150 receipt. Conclusion is that this dental office only needs money and not care about the service. I never had an experience that cleaning the tooth only takes 5-8 minutes. How can it be cleaned throughly. I have dental service for over 20 years and never experience SO SO BAD! Since I had my initial cleaning with a different dentistry office, I forwarded him their findings. Before he dived in, he did a quick re-exam to see if he agreed with their findings. He let me know that he agreed and got to work on redoing 2 fillings and my deep cleaning. During the procedure, he told me that he noticed some residual from my Invisalign (that I had done about 9 years ago!!) and he polished it off. How did my previous dentists throughout the years not notice?? With my kids, he had my son (8) take x-rays with his assistant while he cleaned my daughter's (4) teeth. He was so loving with words of encouragement on how well she was doing. He let her choose the flavor of the toothpaste. Teaching someone how to floss correctly doesn't mean you do it forcefully. Now that I've been to a few dentists, I have something to compare which I could say I cannot recommend this dentist office. I am sure someone's going to give me crap for this review but that's how I feel and that's my opinion.
