Crying, crying...I haven't eaten a decent Chinese take-out meal since leaving San Francisco 15+ years ago. Then, Jeffrey's. The question, is, why isn't every Chinese take-out, on the East Coast, at least this good? I have no idea. The sauces are real, deep, genuine, the chicken is like a chicken tenderloin, not nutty, bready nor hard. This is the real deal of Chinese take-out. Don't expect huge portions. Who needs them when the food is this tasty, it would be a near-sin if the portions were also gigantic. Jeffrey's HAS to open at 10 AM because the phone starts to ring off the hook at 9:30 AM. I have lived in Danbury all my life, and as Eric said Jeffreys is the BEST take-out Chinese in the area. I have been going there for YEARS, over 10 I would say. A few years ago the owner sold the business and moved back home, (china i think). The quality was not quiet as good as it was years ago for a while. But as I am told the original owner is back and overseeing the business. Last time I ate there was about 2 months ago(trying to eat healthier) and it was again fantastic. This place is not your run-of-the-mill generic Chinese restaurant. High Qualitly great tasting food. My favorite is of course the classic General Tso's chicken. I didn't have much because I do not like how lo mein is loaded with all of the vegetables. One of the meals came with an eggroll and doughnut. The eggroll was delicious. The donut was just OK.
