I am reluctant to write this and hate to have to but if someone can use my honest experience to…read moregrow from , I am here for it . I read four 5 star reviews from Mr. Cee's, one of them from a fellow Yelp Elite. Some answers please... As a POC, you know, I like to support my people. That said, I am also an extremely honest reviewer. I will give any place the benefit of the doubt. I'll return to a spot that has served food that may not be a representation of their best efforts. Like if the food were cold or they were shortstaffed and it had to be reheated and the texture changed but flavor and product are not to be compromised. The young lady at the counter was pleasant so was the couple who own restaurant. I don't know if it could be a locale discrepancy, but I have never in my life had a beer, battered pork chop, especially without forewarning besides that it lacked flavor except for salt and grease. I had baked beans and cabbage as my sides. The baked beans were fine. The cabbage was bland and soggy. You know we can do better. I ordered a sweet tea, got sugar water with a tint of brown. Again, maybe it's a locality preference. I want to go back in time and give them a second chance at what I understand they are popular for and try their barbecue just to give them a second chance. I told them I would be back...I won't unless I go with Gordon Ramsay and the Kitchen Nightmares crew. The inside of the place is closed for dining but you wouldn't be missing a thing. Can someone tell me; are beer battered pork chops the norm in Lumberton??

The burgers are excellent, and their lunch and dinner plates offer you any thing else you might be in the mood for. If you're hungry in Lumberton I would highly recommend this place to anyone. We have never been to a restaurant that serves you your breakfast cafeteria style! I'm not sure if that's a good or a bad thing if a breakfast joint does it like that. Our first impression when walking into Cakes, Pastries, & More is that there is no character to the restaurant. It's just a spacious square. We both got breakfast plates. The eggs were their best item, but was still not very good. The hash brows had no flavor and were undercooked (if you can imagine that) and bacon tasted like it had been sitting out for a day. The "sweet" tea is not sweet. The restrooms are nasty, but the rest of the restaurant is clean. Why just the restrooms? Both the solid customer service and the cleanliness of the rest of the restaurant are about best things going for this joint.

The staff are always friendly and then there's dessert! They have a bakery that serves these croissants that are stuffed with cream, lemon fill, strawberry fill, etc. Very tasty people come from nearby towns. I can also say their red velvet cake German chocolate cake are delicious also ordered those for the holidays.

The place was simple and clean. We went to the counter and asked to see a menu. Surprising but they only have one bbq pork sandwich on the whole menu. So I asked if the cook made it himself and was it smoked bbq. We were honestly told he used to smoke ot but no longer does. We saw a few crockpots in the kitchen and decided not to eat there. My suggestion would be to remove the smoked from the name as it's hugely misleading if you don't smoke your own pork and only have 1 bbq sandwich on the menu.

They were both good but the onion rings to me were the clear winner What to say about that burger? It was so juicy with so much flavor who would think that putting pulled pork on top of a half pound delicious juicy burger would even work with barbecue sauce, but it does!! What a taste sensation and sooooo filling!! Thank you for the special treat!! The service was amazing and friendly. Even though she was very busy handling walk ins like us and many take out orders she was amazingly efficient! The bathrooms were very clean and so was the dining area I loved the table codes above us on the wall. What a nice idea!
