While visiting family in Lumberton, we decided to try out some of the local eateries. This morning we saw a few Yelp reviews for Jeff's Corner Cafe that looked good and it was right down the street from our Airbnb so we decided to give it a try for breakfast. The first thing you should know about this restaurant is the name is actually Jay's Country Kitchen. I tell you this because I don't want you not stopping because it doesn't say Jeff's outside. Any who. What great breakfast. I'm from the South and have had my share of grits but what they do here with grits is freaking incredibly delicious. I literally don't have the words to describe how great they are to eat. Just trust me. Get the grits. The eggs were expertly cooked and liver pudding was perfectly spicy and meaty. The linked sausages were also fantastic. This will be our go to place for breakfast the next time we are visiting family here. Highly recommend. Jeff's cafe breakfast is amazing! When I was pregnant I had to have it every single morning! Very friendly employees. I suggest calling your order in so it will be ready when you arrive otherwise it's a little wait mainly because business is booming! I love it!! read more

Jeff and staff did their thang this morning!!!! LOL If you want good ol' fashioned simple stick to your ribs home cooking - you have come to the right place! We were greeted and later served by a sweet and most gracious young lady named Jennifer! Everything we ate was delish - from the scrambled eggs to over medium eggs to the creamy grits and either smoked sausage, sausage links, country ham or even steak! The sausage was savory and sagey n flavorful and cooked perfectly leaving it well done but moist! The pancake my hubby ordered took up the whole plate - nice golden brown- and fluffy melting in your mouth good! One of the best we've had! It's quaint and even nostalgic with restrooms located outside the restaurant with key entry - you remember that from back in the day don't you???? The portions are plentiful and modestly priced! We were really looking forward to trying this place for breakfast. There is nothing better than a local diner, and the reviews looked great. Unfortunately, they stop serving breakfast at 11am (we are traveling at got there at 11:30). You would think a place that was open until only 2pm would serve breakfast all day (especially with the reviews they get for breakfast- it must be good!), but that's not the case. Since we were in the mood for breakfast, we decided to pay for our drinks and go somewhere else. The coffee was good and the tea was sweet, but the price for both ($4.52!) was a bit much. Maybe another time? But we will be sure to arrive before 11am. read more

Best breakfast in town! It's always crowded at breakfast! My co-workers and I would always go at least once every other week for a take out plate.
