My niece told me about this place knowing I am a donut aficionado, but one that rarely eats donuts as they aren't exactly heath food. And on my 54th birthday she brought me a dozen. I have had GREAT donuts twice in my life, but both were from donut joints far in my past that no longer exist, but now I can add Jeff's Bakery to that list. I am not happy about having to cross the bridge and pay about twice the cost as I do in my neighborhood, but that is merely the price of mediocrity and greatness. So I dare anyone who reads this to attempt prove me wrong. Go there, buy a single donut, eat it, then see if you can drive away without buying more. It is not possible. read more

Jeff's was good. Took a special trip out there with my daughter on a Wednesday and was disappointed in the selection. It was kind of pricey at 2$ a donut. But they were good. If I'm in the area (probably not often) I will stop in again. read more

Famous 24/7 donut shop. Excellent quality and nice crew. Jeff's Bakery's big cardboard donut box goes with me to special occasions and to the crew at the auto repair shop and everywhere when I want to share some yum. My dad ate donuts every week and lived until 90 so I share donuts too. Recommended. read more

An authentic, home-grown bakery was the perfect addition to the area. Probably the best donuts I've ever had. Our favorites are the various cake flavors, glazed and glazed with chocolate, apple topped, and the apple fritters, but I have tried all kinds of things and I like everything I've tried. The flavors are perfect - not overly sweet, not too heavy, not too cakey or doughey - Just right. I haven't tried the coffee or anything so I can't comment on that. Yes, they are relatively expensive but as far as I'm concerned they are a better value because of the size. We usually get only six and they last longer than a dozen at someplace like Krispy Kreme. Someone who usually eats two donuts will be more than satisfied with one here. read more

Really delicious doughnuts. There was one in a half dozen assortment that was a bit overmixed and tough, but the others were light and well glazed or filled (depending on the doughnut). The standout for us was the apple fritter - perfectly spiced, chunks of apple throughout, and not greasy like many apple fritters I've had in the past. And the late hours are hard to beat! read more

Never had a bad donut here. I live dangerously close to this place and have to resist temptation to come constantly. My favorites are the buttermilk cake donut and the apple fritter. Hard to beat! Staff is always friendly. I have nothing but positive things to say about Jeff's. I'm very happy this part of town is booming! One thing to add - I'm not sure why this place isn't called "Jeff's Donuts". As far as I can tell, there is nothing available here other than donuts. read more

Reminded me of the bakery on Seinfeld! You walk in and it's an assembly line. Fast and efficient. Delicious donuts in 3 front cases and 2 back cases. To the left is a coffee bar. Various flavors and add ins. It was 5pm when we stopped in so I didn't try any coffee. To the right is a child oriented area for them to add their toppings to make their donuts unique. If you ever wonder who has the best doughnuts in the city, well sometimes you have to drive across the bridge to Indiana. Did I pay a toll to buy doughnuts. Yes. Yes I did. Do I have any regrets? Nope. I certainly do not. The woman at the counter told me to zap my apple fritter in the microwave for 10 to 15 seconds. If I ever win a major reward, I will thank her for having a profound influence on my life. Maybe the best advice I've ever received. Go eat a doughnut. Stumbled onto Jeff's today while in the area for a kids game. So happy I did as Jeff's not only had a great selection the donuts were absolutely top notch. I had read a few posts locally asking who had the best donuts in town and Jeff's Bakery continued to show up. So when we had some family in town I stopped in to give them a try and we were blown away by these donuts. They are huge and delicious with a good selection to choose from. It's hard to eat two of them their so big. Since we've now been back several times and will continue to make this our donut of choice. read more

Jeff's Bakery is, IMHO, less an actual bakery and definitely more of a straight up donut shot. Now, lest you think that is a put down or a negative comment, it is, by no means, either. Whereas with your typical bakery, you have a wide variety of donuts, pastries, sweet rolls, kuchens, pies and assorted what nots, Jeff's concentrates on donuts and, in doing so, makes some of THE best donuts I've ever had the pleasure of enjoying. As I'm writing this, I'm finishing up one of Jeff's deelish chocolate covered glazed donuts. These these are monstrous (when's the last time you ate a donut on a plate? With a fork? Yeah, it's THAT big, but also about as light and fluffy a yeast donut as you could ever ask for. Ditto for the plain old glazed donuts; also ginormous and oh-so delicious and raised to a plane of confectionary perfection that other doughnuts only dream of (I would imagine that, when Krispy Kreme and Dunkin' Donuts die, they have high hopes of coming back as a Jeff's doughnut)! I've loved Long John's for as long as I can remember and, when I was a little kid, my Mom used to get them from a bakery that has long since gone away, but the LJs at Jeff's are EVEN BETTER!! Same great yeast doughnut as the glazed rings, but about ten inches long and wearing a generous, but not overly sweet, coating of chocolate (that actually tastes like chocolate, not some weird science experiment) and filled, almost to over-flowing, with a sweet, rich cream that is super good without being overly heavy or cloying. They also make Long Johns in some cool flavors like the Dreamscicle Long John that will absolutely take you back to the days of getting orange sherbet and vanilla ice cream together only without the brain freeze! ; ) Can't review Jeff's without a big tip of the hat to the counter help who always go above and beyond in helping you pick out donuts and in just being overall cheerful and pleasant whether it's 3:00 in the afternoon or 3:00 in the morning. If you like donuts, give Jeff's a try. If you LOVE donuts, you may as well just camp out on their doorstep! LOL! read more

Where I work, we get a King Cake every week from mid-January through Mardi Gras. Whomever gets the baby, gets the next one. We have had King Cakes from a lot of different places, including having them shipped in from some very, VERY well-known King Cake bakeries in NOLA. I got the baby in one (woot! good luck for me this year!), and the bakery I went to in the past is closed, so I had to find a new place. I found Jeff's Bakery online, called and ordered a King Cake to be picked up the next day, 1/25/12. I am soooo glad I found them. Jeff's Bakery's Cream Cheese King Cake is amazing. I honestly think it's one of the two best King Cakes I've ever had (the other came from one of those New Orleans shops). Nothing but rave reviews from my co-workers, too. Jeff's Bakery, newly arrived on East 10th St in Jeffersonville has a great assortment of doughnuts, and they are tasty. The staff there is nice, and friendly. The doughnuts are large, and just a tad bit pricey at $1.50 each. I would have given the place five stars, except that during my first and only visit there, I had asked a male employee a simple question, and he felt the need to put his bare hands on the donut just to answer the question. Not sanitary. He told me they have a peanut butter and jelly doughnut. I asked if there is actually peanut butter inside. He said yes, then held up the doughnut for me to see, pointed to the filling hole, then stuck his bare finger right on the filling hole to indicate where there was filling. Superfluous demonstration. By far the best donuts in the area. I loved when they were close to downtown Jeff but their new place seems to be a better ft and now they are open 24/7! Legendary donuts right here in Jeffersonville, IN! They aren't the prettiest looking and they will set you back a buck fifty PER donut...but they're worth the splurge! You won't find a better donut around. And Jeff's new location is open 24 hours! That's a big plus. You haven't lived until you've had a Jeff's donut, at least once! 4 stars because of the steep price and they don't offer any discounts for buying in bulk. It's pretty much 1.50 X however many you need, which = $18/dozen. Yikes! The other reason for the 4* rating, their name would lead you to believe it's a bakery, meaning I could get baked goods other than donuts. But since they moved to their new location it's 100% donuts. That's it. I get it, that's what they're best at and famous for. But if I didn't already know the business I might drive here thinking I'd find cakes, cookies, etc too. Would've been 5 stars if it were just based on the taste and quality of the donuts though! They do sell light and dark roast coffee, and I'm picky about my coffee but Jeff's passed my test of a decent cup of coffee on the go. read more

Phenomenal! I had a doughnut with fresh strawberries on top with homemade vanilla icing. It was the perfect balance of sweet, tart and pastry. I meant to take a picture but ate it too fast. The icing filled are VERY sweet, a little too sweet for my tastes but if that's your thing... enjoy! Truly the best doughnut I've ever had and I've enjoyed many small bakeries. read more
