Phenomenal! I had a doughnut with fresh strawberries on top with homemade vanilla icing. It was the perfect balance of sweet, tart and pastry. I meant to take a picture but ate it too fast. Visited Saturday for the first time, but my kids have bought from there before and loved it. When I went, it was close to closing time so there wasn't much of a selection yet. We just moved to Jeffersonville and I was pleased to find a donut shop just around the corner from us. While I haven't been in the location yet, but husband has brought donuts home on 2 occasions and they have been excellent both times. They are fresh, sweet without being overbearingly so and offer a fun and whimsical variety for your early morning (or late evening) sweet tooth. I originally hail from Jeffersonville and grew up on these donuts. I still remember when it was called Krahl's before it became Jeff's. The most important thing during that transition was going to be whether the signature chocolate icing would remain, and it did! As much as i miss their famous "chocolate pan rolls" the fact that the icing remains does still keep the spark alive. I now live in Louisville, but with their new location and the emergence of the east end bridge it's no longer an hour+ trek to get my hands on these babies. My favorites are anything with their chocolate icing, the apple fritters are out of this world, and the zinger. These donuts are not cheap, but are HUGE and dense as referenced by the box which is the size of a briefcase! My pic of the chocolate glazed is literally the size of my hand, check it to scale! I do love my Nord's Bakery, but Jeff's will always be #1... especially now that they are 24 hrs! read more

I confess: I'm not a donut connoisseur. I'm usually not a big fan of donuts, ...well with the exception of those little white powdered sugar-covered donut holes found at grocery stores/gas stations. I crave them - they're that good, and I'll even take the toll bridge ($4/each way from Oldham County), just to pick up some delicious Jeff's Bakery donuts. It's an addiction. My favorite (and why I keep going back): Those custard-filled donuts with chocolate frosting on top. I have no idea what they're called - I just point and describe. It's like a Bavarian cream pie. Not too sweet - just absolutely perfect. I've also tried the caramel apple, powdered red jelly filled, and apple fritters -- all delicious. My only complaint is that they don't have cutlery (like not even a plastic knife) to cut the donuts in half. If they knew my children and how messy they can get (and/or how long the drive is back to our house), they would know how super important this is. read more

I am the donut king. All I can say, is this place is THEE BEST place I've ever gotten donuts from. Huge donuts, a little more expensive than most places, but they're always fresh, soft, and covered in a topping. Not dry and bald spots with no flavor. Have passed this place numerous times. Finally stopped in at about 3:30 pm. Before I opened the door, the aroma reminded me of the Donut Friar in Gatlinburg, TN. They have all different kinds of donuts, only donuts though. I ordered a cream filled long john. I have NEVER had a donut this fresh. The chocolate icing had not dried & hardened. The dough of the donut was soft, but not mushy. Cream was fresh. And remember, this was 3:30 pm. I am so glad I do not live near this bakery. I would be pounds heavier. read more

Jeff's has become the bar by which I, and now my coworkers, measure all other donuts. We have yet to find any that compare to Jeff's in size, variety, or taste. Jeff's donuts are huge. The first time I took a box of them to work people gathered around the box discussing the "massive cinnamon rolls", and glazed donuts which are at least twice the size of a glazed krispy kreme. We have also yet to find any other bakery that offers the variety that Jeff's has.. the chocolate peanut butter danishes, almond logs, etc.. Ever since I lived in Bloomington, I've been conspiring to find or, in a pipe dream, create a 24 hour doughnut joint. Thanks Yelp for introducing me to Jeff's!!! My boyfriend and I have this bad habit of 10pm sugar cravings, and we are often dismayed by early closing hours around town. Jeff's is 18 minutes away from my casa, and the service is so friendly and nice. When 10pm rolled around, we rolled up to Jeff's, located in a small, tucked away strip mall. Praise be, they had a full, wonderful selection of fresh temptations...and trust me when I say this: you could weight lift the lemon filled doughnuts. These guys were HUGE! We paid about $3 for two behemoths, which is more expensive than what I'm used to, but I'm pretty sure one Jeff's doughnut is the equivalent to two KK doughnuts in size. So there's your justification. This is, without a doubt, my new go-to in SOIN! read more

This place has the BEST donuts ever. After eating them, the "hot now" sign at Krispy Kreme means nothing to me. They are very filling yet fluffy at the same time and melt in your mouth. I wish the 62 location had a drive thru but other than that, the place is fantastic! Side note- There is no sitting area so you must order it to go. All donuts are $1.50 regardless of the quantity.
