i reached out to jeff regarding an attempted break in on my car. jeff came out to my car, took apart the steering wheel column to see the damage and what needed to be replaced. then he charged my dad $300 for an hour of work, again all he did was take my steering wheel completely apart. he said he charges $150 and hour, but the reason he charged my dad $300 was because the next day he was supposedly going to get the parts and he was charging the extra $150 for driving around to get the parts. i left out of town for a week and jeff had known this. when i get back into down for three days straight jeff tells me he is going to come out to my car and he would literally say "ill be out today" and would never show and not tell me he wasnt showing. he pretty much scammed my dad out of $300. i'm not sure if the job was too advanced for him because he is a mobile mechanic idk if they can't do as advanced stuff i literally don't know, but he left me hanging and i had to go somewhere else. i feel like he took advantage of my situation and my dad because i am alone in portland and im 22. my dad doesn't even live here and was being nice enough to help me. to charge someone $300 for work you didnt do is ridiculous. if your rate is $150 and you were there for only an hour then my dad should have only been charged $150 for the time you were there. i ended up taking my car to the shop, and the total repair cost at the shop was lower than the service i would've gotten from jeff. thought he tried to convince my father and i that he was cheaper. this really sucked because i am by myself and to be left hanging with no car, and lack of communication is very disheartening and scary. read more

Jeff basically begged to work on my 1953 Willys Jeep, promised he would give me weekly updates, then I never heard from him. At first I thought he had stolen my car, after he asked me to drop it off at his house. After many months of hearing excuses around issues with his health, work problems, and me constantly insisting work happen through calls and texts, he did some work on the car. He asked for $2,000 (I bought all the parts), and did two things: added batteries, and added some distributor tips. He lied about changing the filter, adding the master cylinder, installing the fuel tank and fuel lines. I only found out he didn't do any of this work until AFTER I picked up the car, which at that point, I just wanted to get my car out of his property. He said we were half way through when we were not. He had no idea what he was doing with a vintage car. My new mechanic who is trustworthy is doing everything he didn't do and more to actually get the car running! I hired him based on Google reviews, and while it looks he actually completes mobile jobs, probably because he has to finish on other people's property, DO NOT DROP YOUR CAR OFF WITH HIM. Based on his reviews I called Jeff, let's call him Jeff 1.0, to fix a leaking transmission pan in my stored RV. At the appointment he immediately said it wasn't the pan gasket but something more serious and would need to remove and rebuild the transmission. I told him I had to get the RV out of storage that week and he assured me that if he didn't get it out by end of October it would be very close. He was very confident and smooth and I agreed to a $3,200 price for the work. I gave him $1650 in cash deposit. He took the transmission and I assumed went to get the rebuild kit with the money I gave him. That's when his manner changed and he became Jeff 2.0, very non committal, vague and even snippy. I didn't call for a few days to give him time. Finally on 10/27/22 I reached him at 4:30 pm and he told me he had quit for the day and was already "3 beers in". He wouldn't tell me specifics about the transmission rebuild and I begin to think it wasn't being done. I was worried but still hoping for him to do the work. Days passed after that with unreturned calls and texts. I went to his place of business numerous times and it was locked up tight with the transmission, sure enough, still strapped into his van untouched. On 11/1/22, a full week after he took the tranny, I knocked on door and called out his name. After a while came out at 2:30 pm in a bathrobe and slippers half asleep or? He initially threatened violence, I told him I just wanted my transmission back as he clearly wasn't doing the work and that if he was not a thief he should refund my money. He alternately was angry and contrite telling me that he was sick of all his customers hounding him for their stuff and that was going to quit. I told him I was sorry his life was a mess but he has really screwed me over. He apologized and said he "had fallen off the wagon" and couldn't get the money back to me "right now" but that he would soon. I left with my transmission and not the money. He started calling me minutes later - irate and telling me I had broken the law and he was going to call the cops on me if I wrote any bad reviews and that he wasn't giving me my money back. Between the threats and apologies it was like he was having a bipolar episode. So let this be buyer beware with this guy Jeff 2.0, he's a smooth talker who seems to know engines but once he get's your money he won't deliver. From what I experienced there is no way all his good reviews are legitimate. As for the transmission it was only a leaking pan gasket and I had a reputable mechanic put it back in and I am on the road again with my RV. Although he claims to guarantee his work, he does not. He seemed to have a lot of personal problems and phone issues that interfered with his follow up. I hired Jeff to install a lift kit and body lift for my 4runner. I had already purchased the lift kit and everything else myself. I made a detailed listing on Craigslist specifying exactly what needed to be done, lift kit, body lift, and differential drop kit. The original estimate was 3-4 hours at $60/hr for labor. It ended up taking 6 hours, and the body lift was still not installed. I asked Jeff to stop there, and that I'd do the body lift myself. He put me in a very uncomfortable position by asking me why I didn't want him to install the body lift, and proceeded on some personal story about how he'd blown a bunch of money going to Europe and how he really needed more money (not my problem). Feeling sympathetic I decided to let him complete the body lift while I was away at work. He'd told me that the body lift might take approximately 2-4 hours. It ended up taking 6. Also, he'd mentioned that he'd forgotten to install the sway bar relocation bracket (should have been done the previous day). Jeff may be a good mechanic and a nice guy, but unfortunately his mechanic skills are overshadowed by poor business ethics. The way he goes about business makes him seem like either a liar, or having poor time management skills. All in all, I probably would have saved money and time had I had it done in a real shop. On June 28 2022, I received service from this company. They charged me $150 for repairing my car with zip ties instead of replacing the whole piece or doing an actual repair. They said they would send out a mass email by the end of the week with proof of purchase. It is now July 9th and I have not received anything. My landlord is responsible for the damages that occurred to my vehicle but I cannot file a claim and be reimbursed unless I have an invoice and this company has openly ignored me about sending a proof of purchase. I have reached out on 3 separate occasions and am being openly ignored. We asked for a receipt when they were present and they said they would email one over and they have not sent anything. Communication is horrible. I paid in cash because I had it handy but now there is no paper trail at all. We have 3 witnesses and video proof of everything. One star is to generous. I don't understand how he has any good reviews. He came out and was not prepared as he didn't have all the proper tools with him. He started a simple tune up and left with two spark plugs not changed out. He basically refused to even look at the distributor and rotor cap which were badly needing changed. And he never returned to finish. He changed a water pump at the same time but did not make sure the transmission cooling lines were secured so they were rubbing and are severely damaged. This mistake would have led to the entire failure of the transmission had my new mechanic not caught his mistake. In addition because he didn't have the correct tools for the power steering pump, which is suppose to be torqued to specifications, he used a crescent wrench and tightened it so much he flattened out the gasket and the connection from the pump to the lines damaging it. This caused me to have to get another mechanic to replace and fix his mistakes. On top of all that he couldn't be bothered to take the time to run the motor long enough to work the power steering fluid through the lines to ensure the job was done correctly. Oh and let's not forget the fact that somehow he cracked my brand new fan shroud, tried to blame the dealer and refused to apply any J.B. cold weld or take any steps to ensure the crack does not continue to spread due to engine and road vibrations that will put stress on the Crack. I found Jeff through craigslist, then went off a rec for a friend who had her bumper replaced by Jeff. I hired Jeff to repair valve cover gaskets on a V8 engine. On a personal level Jeff is a really nice guy. Unfortunately one of the studs that held the valve cover and gasket to the engine block broke off during the repair. Jeff didn't tell me about this, instead he used extra silicone to seal the broken stud. This didn't work at all, my engine lost lubrication and looked as if were about to catch fire. This resulted in not only a broken stud but also a timing chain that was covered in silicone goop. I gave Jeff two weeks to come out and repair an honest mistake. I received every excuse under the sun as to why he couldn't finish the repair work he started (and made worse). Then when I asked to meet and discuss as I had to find another mechanic to finish re-repairing Jeff's incomplete work and mistakes, I never heard from him again. Save your money and go to a real repair shop where they are over the table, provide documentation and stand by their work.
