Went in to get my BMW transmission serviced, as well as my injectors replaced. My car was returned with transmission fluid leaking, so he didn't even seal it right. Unfortunately, I left the country shortly after he finished my car, but when I came back to drive it, it wouldn't drive because almost all of my transmission fluid leaked from improper seal. I have less than 50 miles from when he repaired my car, but months have passed, but he won't cover his mistakes which is understandable since the time gap. But still, he didnt seal my transmission pan back correctly because it should not be leaking at all. read more

My van had overheated and my head gasket leaked . I worked on it for several months and wound up having a head bolt thread strip in the engine block. After discussing my issues I decided to have an engine swap. Ruben came to my house to pick it up. He finished the job yesterday & I picked up my van this morning. It seems to be running well. The cost was well worth getting my van back on the road. Ruben let me know about a valve stem that was leaking. I Had bought new tires from a large tire shop. I will have them fix it under warranty. I can't tell you how glad I am to have my van back. I am disabled , so taking Tri-met is a real pain. Ruben got it done in time for me to start class's at Mt. Easy to miss this little gem--the sign over the door has a different name but friendly, punctual, and effective. I had a user-error dash light issue on a Toyota matrix (dimmer was off) and they just popped out, took a look and fixed it with a handshake. OMG!!! You have to use Ruben!!! It will be a repair you can actually afford!. Took our Audi to him and showed him what Audi said we needed repaired and he said the only thing he saw was the serpentine belt (which is what we initially wanted replaced), but that everything else was fine and he did suggest may need new brake pads. But Audi had us for thousands of dollars which he said he didn't see the need for at this time. THANK YOU RUBEN! And FYI, it's a very small shop, so don't expect fancy, but I don't care! I just want my car repaired without spending thousands! Definitely worth going to this little shop! read more

Again another repair shop that gave me no confidence that they had any knowledge or experience with working on the electrical system of a 89 Ford F150? I'be had and seen way too many repairs shops that spent all kinds of time, labor, and money on parts that the vehicle didn't need that been charged to either myself or others I know and all the work that was done had absolutely nothing to do with the problem the vehicle had. Yet the business expects the vehicle owners to pay for their guessing what the problem is, even when their guessing was completely wrong! So unless I know a business is knowledgeable and experienced in working on the electrical system on a 89 Ford F150 and won't just be guessing and replacing parts my vehicle doesn't need! I'm not going to let anyone play around and charging me for the privilege of hoping the learn something while trying to figure out what's wrong with my truck? When you explain you lost all the 12 volt power inside the cab of the truck and the engine suddenly died and now won't start without crossing the started underneath the hood to get the starter to turn over. It's obviously getting power to the starter. But no power to the key ignition as well as no power inside the cab makes it pretty obvious it's a electrical issue somewhere? Someone familiar with the 89 Ford F150 electrical system should have a good idea what exactly issues would cause this problem! So far no one given me any reason to believe they know a thing what's actually wrong with my truck? I'm not paying anyone to play around and keep guessing what the problem is and possibly being completely wrong and still wanting me to pay for parts my truck didn't need and pay for the labor of replacing parts for new parts my truck didn't need either. Better off either taking it to the dealership or playing around with it myself and hopefully I'll figure it out myself eventually and not have any labor or time costs to pay anyone! But was hoping to find a professional that actually knows the electrical system on a 89 Ford F150 that be better at narrowing down what the problem would be? Know it's not the starter or the starter cylinoid cause I cross the cylinder and got the starter to turn over. There's a fuse or something that keeps the power from getting to the key ignition and also making no power getting to inside the cab? Someone that actually knows the electrical system should have a really good educated guess what the problem actually is? Should take long at all to diagnose this problem if whoever working on the problem got any knowledge with the Ford F150 electrical system! Have no intentions of paying someone to guess for hours on end and quite possibly replace parts my vehicle doesn't need that I be expected to pay for too, even though my vehicle didn't need the parts! Seen too many times where repairs shop's literally charged thousands of dollars to fix a vehicle's problems in parts and labor that actually had absolutely nothing to do with the problem the vehicle had and the vehicle no better than it was when you brought it into the repair shop! Example is a good friend of mine that owns a furniture store kept having his furniture truck die as he be driving to a customer home to deliver furniture. The truck then be towed to the nearest repair shop. He spent months going to different repair shops every time the truck died. He told me what his try was doing and I told him to replace your fuel filter. That's probably your problem! But he didn't listen to me. These different repair shops replace all kinds of expensive parts including even the starter that would have nothing to do with a engine dying! He spends thousands and his truck still kept dying! Finally after spending months fooling around with different repairs shops and spending thousands of dollars on labor and parts his truck didn't need. He finally got around to replacing the fuel filter that's less then $20.00 to replace.once the fuel filter was replaced the engine never died again! Only thing that was wrong! read more

After having numeroous "national chain" repair shops give me different reasons and quotes for a simple power steeting pump replacement, I call Cotan. Best call on my car I have ever made. They were able to get me in on a Friday evening. The owners called me to ensure that I understood the quote and what was needed to do the job. Reuben replaced my power steering pump using a pump that I purchased and had no issues with the install. No more whinning noise from a bad pump. Going forward I will use Cotan for all of my automotive needs. I would like to thank both of the owners for your professionalism and follow up.
