Great family friendly campground resort. Lots of deer and rabbits. They have a something for everyone here. I do though wish that they had an adults only pool area.

There is a lot of room for improvement needed here and a lot probably has to do with staffing or lack of. Arrived Saturday (check in was 3PM). We stayed in cabin 340 (2 bedroom: queen bed, bunk with full and twin). This cabin is located right next to the recreation building, dog park, & fitness center. There is a patio area off the bedroom containing the queen and also a large sit down patio with table, 6 chairs, gas fireplace pit, & gas grill. On arrival our gas grill looked like it hadn't been cleaned in some time. Here began our first encounter with maintenance. We later would find out our patio light was out (that took 3 attempts to get replaced). Kitchen comes with dining table, 4 chairs, full size fridge, stove top range, microwave, toaster, single cup Keurig, & stocked with the necessities needed for cooking and serving along with dish soap and paper towels. It shares space with mounted flatscreen and a 2 seater couch that is a pull out. Bathroom is single sink, small cabinet containing extra towels (think we had a total of 4 and ended up asking for more which was a 2 call inquiry). It's a shower only setup; there was wall mounted hand soap, body wash, shampoo, & conditioner. These were unfortunately empty on our visit; and part of the three tries to remedy. Before I move on from our cabin we spent the last day of our stay with a broken AC (this took 2 calls; first determined it was working, second overruled the first diagnosis and found the unit was completely unresponsive). They offered to move us but at this point it was our last night and seemed pointless. The pools (there are 2) were very much enjoyed but again staffing was close to nothing. We waited to attempt the pools after crowds started moving out Sunday. The pool did not feel heated beyond what the jacuzzi waterfall poured into it. This pool area contained the outside bar/food offerings. I found the souvenir kids cup drinks pricing very cheap (2 bucks and some change), you could get these at the inside counter. This pool stays open until 10PM. The water zone which is where there is another sitting/kids pool and water park has very limited seating (I'd hate to see this place at capacity). Our group rented a cabana for the whole trip thankfully. I have to say the food we tried from the concession area here was delicious (cheese stuffed bread sticks, funnel cake fries, Buffalo chicken empanadas) and prices weren't bad. The water zone was freezing, I struggled getting accustomed to the water. I also noticed one of the small kids slides was broken, no water pumped into it keeping the slides fully wet and water pooled at end (it did catch water from the drop bucket). This kept it slick so when my daughter went down it she went flying out over the end hurting herself. This area stays open until 6PM. Arcade; don't bother! More than half the games are broken, you can only buy a game card if you have cash from register (the machines that normally distribute those were broken). General store was disappointing in souvenir offerings. I'm sorry I like things more location specific. Golf cart, rent one. I don't know how you can get to everything this location offers without one. Unless your diehard walker (which we did quite a bit). Outdoor sports area; my kids loved the bouncy floor it just was a trek to get to on foot. Activities were very few and again lack of staff made it all very chaotic. Ice cream store (pop up located near recreation building and park) wasn't open Sunday/Monday during our stay. This was extremely disappointing. Not sure if this is normal hours; or just again understaffed. We saw Yogi bear 3 times during our 4 day stay, not once during the activities that were being held (I've heard he does a flag raising at other parks). Gem stone mining; our group purchased the 21 dollar mining bag it contained enough for 4 kids ages 4-10. The mining activity is basically an at your leisure (there are 4 sluice boxes). It's located near the red train and look out tower (both great photo ops). Sadly not sure my family will return to this Jelly stone location. We in total were a group of 18 ( 3 cabins & one rv site). Aside all the hiccups it's a lackluster location in terms of scenery; if you like trains, coal trains are a plenty to hear and watch at ALL hours of the day, and being right off the highway. Trees are almost completely clear cut and gone with many young trees, so in 20 years+ might make this place feel more of a "camp" like location.

    Oil on patio general mess!
    Eric B.

Arrived to a spot that's a mess, what I presume is oil spilled on the patio and trash in spot. The staff speeds by the road in front of us and blows through the stop sign a regular intervals. Traffic is heavy on BooBoo street. I would stay away from this trashy place. For the money they should at least make sure the spots are picked up before you arrive. Oh if you like a train going by every hour so loud you can't hear a person talking and trash then you may like this dump

Boo Boo Cabin Review - first, we rarely post negative reviews. The location in Larkspur is beautiful & the cabin roomy & comfortable. Unfortunately we were disappointed by the management & upkeep of the lodging: - visiting in March & there were living flies every where despite it being cold & not in season - the Loft floor was very dirty, kids swept it plus bed was not made & random packing tape found on ceiling (see photo) - floors were dirty turning bottom of our socks brown - disgusting hair & dead flies in silverware holder & bath wall scones - lots of black, brown & golden dog hair on bed covers - a variety of items Not Working - fire-pit & lighter, WiFi - the bath door doesn't stay closed - lots of dust & debris including dirty, dusty, buggy window sills & blinds, floors, etc... - Arcade prize dispenser not working - Amenities not open like Clubhouse pool, fitness center & cafe despite having to pay 'amenity fee'!!! - bedcovers are old, thin & quite frankly disgusting - phone at front desk never answered, we called several times & calls not returned!! In summary, we were disappointed after spending a good amount of money for spring break trip with grandkidsl

This is my second time staying here. It is a fun place with a lot of amenities. That being said it is poorly managed. The water park is absolutely frigid even on a 90 degree day. The gate to the park was broken so anyone could come in. The projector is broken so there are no cartoons for the daily activities that are scheduled and no information was sent out about this. The cabins are decent but the most expensive ones have no cooktops and mine was not even clean. The staff does not answer the phone or return messages. The paid wifi is unreliable. The golf cart we got had no working parking break (the park is full of hills and my son got some serious bruises when it rolled back). They advertised a new bbq option but it was never open. This place has potential but I will not be back after this experience.

We've visited several hot springs over the years - there is something special about this place. The history alone is incredible. People have been soaking in these mineral waters for well over a century, and the springs themselves have been used for generations before that. What we loved most was the character. The geothermal caves are unlike anything we've experienced elsewhere, and the large mineral pool under the tropical dome feels like stepping into another world. Surrounded by palm trees, tropical plants, and naturally heated mineral water, it's easy to forget you're only a short drive from Denver. The caves are a mix between a wet sauna and a plunge pool. Four pool options down there with the coolest at 106 degrees...that is the one we opted for. When we needed to cool a bit, we could just step out into the relaxation area. There is a side for women or men for the caves, so clothing is optional down there. If you're looking for a perfectly polished resort experience, this may not be your place. But if you're looking for a historic Colorado landmark with unique geothermal features, relaxing mineral water, and a one-of-a-kind atmosphere, Indian Hot Springs absolutely delivers. We'll definitely be back.

We went during the quiet adults-only pool time, expecting a peaceful, relaxing soak. Unfortunately, a few guests didn't quite get the memo, so just keep that in mind when booking. I would definitely recommend going with a friend or partner--it was a bit of a "couples' scene" later in the evening. The venue itself is super cute, with tons of plants surrounding the pool and a really nice atmosphere. There's also a convenient bar area nearby, which was a plus. The dressing room was a bit small and could use a few updates, but that's understandable given the building's age. Overall, I'd highly recommend it for a weekend getaway!

The sky was a perfect blue that day, which made the whole experience even more beautiful. ‍ Pools and Amenities They have two large main pools that feel like swimming pools. One is hotter and the other is a medium temperature, and there is even a lap lane. They provide lockers at a cost for your belongings and lounging chairs where you can keep snacks or anything you bring with you. Everything felt clean and easy to use. Customer Service Customer service was great. The staff were super friendly, helpful, and welcoming, which really added to the experience. The staff at the historic bathhouse front desk was disinterested and unhelpful. Not pleasant like we were wasting their time. The staff just were there for a job and offered up nothing. One pool seemed to have too much chlorine. The pools are moderately hot. The creekside pools looked enjoyable but the one theme people said is "if you can get there." Truth, as even able-bodied youth appeared to have trouble scrambling ambling over boulder cobble Chalk Creek banks to gain entry. Seemed treacherous. A large pipe fed hot water into the cold creek. Fees like 10$ for towels with 5 dollar refund were nickel and diming in my opinion. The location is beautiful. The facility is well built. Nothing was clear as to layout and where to go. My wife and I stayed in the Cottonwood Cabin for our anniversary and it was a fantastically relaxing 3 nights. The cabin itself is roomy enough and very quaint. The shower was a bit small but served its purpose. The real treat was the hot spring. It was larger than the pictures led me to believe and very enjoyable. It was a bit warm at times but there is either cold water nearby or some snow to throw in to control it. We spent way more time in it than any hot tub or private pool I've ever had with a hotel or B&B. At night it was all starry skies and the peaceful sound of the nearby creek. We will be back, it will be a task to try to out-do this anniversary spent at Antero Hot Springs Cabins.

They appear to have been quaint at one time but they are not now. First, these cabins are not remote at all. They are located right next to each other and there is a house on the hill overlooking two of them. We could hear the people next to us talking while they were in the back of their cabin, and I'm sure that they could hear us. There really isn't much privacy. The hot springs fed hot tub was nice but it was not clean. Supposedly, the tubs are drained and cleaned after every guest stay. I highly doubt that ours was drained let alone cleaned. I spent the first 30 minutes skimming out leaves and debris from the surrounding trees and plants. The cabins are rustic. They are definitely not luxurious. The shower is very small and basic. It is so small and dirty that you will be thinking: "why bother?" Ours had mold in the grout. BTW, it takes almost 10 minutes for the water to get hot. I could give some more specifics but if you've read this far, I think you get the idea. If you're not concerned about having a lot of privacy and cleanliness etc, these may be worth a visit...but I think for the price, you can do a lot better. One more thing: there is a review on Yelp or Google about the owner's dogs bothering some guests. When my friend, who booked our stay, inquired about it, the owner or an employee named Jessica replied in a way as to suggest that there was no problem. However, when we got into the cabin and read some of the many signs and rules, one mentioned that if loose dogs come near the cabin to not feed them or let them into the cabin. It described the dogs as being "valley dogs." I suspect that they are the owners dogs. I could hear dogs barking in the residence on the property. They didn't bother us at all but it made me suspect that the owners are not being forthright about the issue that had been reported in the review.
