I'm sad to say that The Blind Man has become a 1 star company. After two successful Hunter Douglas…read moreshade purchases and installs with Tim over the years, I didn't hesitate working with them on a custom Roman shade order. Their son, Ben, helped me find a near perfect fabric match to my curtains, and we were all set to go. However, once the product arrived (5/11/25), the experience went downhill quickly. The new shades look nothing like our previous Roman shades, which were only replaced because after 25 years they no longer were able to go up or down efficiently. The newly installed ones are not tidy or crisp when pulled up or down like our previous Roman shades, even though The Blind Man had them and photos as a reference. Before ordering, I asked to see a sample of what my shades would look like when finished. I was told that because it was a custom order they did not have any samples or even photos to show me. Therefore, I took it on faith that since they had both my shades and photos of them the end result would look like my current shades. Unfortunately, the final product did not remotely resemble my current Roman shades. When they are in the down position, they just hang there like a bedsheet. Each shade also appears to have excess fabric that creates large Vs on both sides of the shade. The craftsmanship of these shades make them something I do NOT want to look at for the next 20 years. Because of my immediate disappointment, on May 13th, my husband contacted The Blind Man via e-mail to find out what could be done. Janie, the consultant/designer, was immediately on it, which we appreciated. However, after her meeting on May 15th with the workroom representative and owner, the owner has been ghosting us under the guise of trying to figure out what to do. We should have had a resolution by May 16th at the latest. It's been almost three weeks now since we started e-mailing and stopping in to find out about these poor quality shades. At this point, we would just like the shades removed and our money returned. I would NOT recommend working with this company if you need custom shades or draperies. Their final product does NOT meet expectations, and the owner's communication with customers is subpar. DO NOT RECOMMEND. I will continue to update this review to note how long it takes them to resolve this issue to our mutual satisfaction.

Hunter Douglas was gracious and understanding but we are customers of the dealer, The Blind Man. Hunter Douglas is a quality company. Not sure what happened with The Blind Man.

Enter my trusty sis-in-law who had used and recommended Abda. Jerry, the owner met me at my house to measure and determine what I was looking for. He was very helpful with his suggestions/recommendations. For example, I wanted cordless top down-bottom up cellular shades, but my windows are tall and I can't reach the top, thus would not be able to use the cordless top down feature easily). He also worked within my budget, as he offers a wide variety of brands/styles. My shades arrived quickly and I was scheduled for installation within a week after they arrived. The installers were professional, friendly and fast. I was not only impressed by the quality of the product, but also Jerry's measuring skills. Each one is a perfect fit! My custom sliding door drape took a bit longer, but through no fault of Abda's (the finials were on an eternal backorder). However, once they arrived I was scheduled within 2 days to have it hung. Jerry was kind enough to give me a restaurant gift card for my trouble! I can't say enough good things about this family run business. Jerry, Pat, their sons and other employees are top notch. I'd highly recommend this company to anyone looking for window treatments.

Tracy in sales was very helpful when there was a hiccup after my original sales contact resigned. And Marissa, well she is one of the most professional, kind and understanding representatives of a business that I have encountered. She replied promptly, always provided updates when promised and highly contributed to a successful installation.

In March, we paid a 75% deposit on a $14,000 order for motorized patio shades. We paid the remaining 25% on Memorial Day, the day of installation. We were told the installers would arrive between 12:00 and 2:00 PM. They didn't arrive until approximately 4:30 PM. When they arrived, they asked where the electrical power source was. I explained that we had specifically paid extra for rechargeable battery motors so that no electrical wiring would be needed. Instead, they installed plug-in motors with long white power cords hanging from our black shades. The next business day, I contacted Zinga's and was eventually told they had ordered the wrong motors and would have to replace them. No timeline was provided. Several weeks later, I was notified that the correct motors had arrived and was given an installation date of July 13. I called and explained that, because this delay was the result of Zinga's mistake--not ours--I hoped they could move us up in the schedule. They declined. Then, on July 13, no one showed up. When I called, I was told that I had not confirmed the appointment, even though I had confirmed it during my earlier phone call when discussing the installation date. Rather than acknowledging the confusion or attempting to make it right, I was told I would simply be placed back in the queue for the next available installation date. At this point, Zinga's has had the majority of our money since March and the full $14,000 since May, yet we still do not have the product we purchased. We have now missed much of the summer waiting for patio shades that should have been installed months ago. Perhaps the most disappointing part of this experience has been the complete lack of accountability. Throughout this process, no one has apologized for ordering the wrong product, for the installation delays, or for the missed appointment. No one has offered any accommodation or demonstrated any sense of urgency to correct a mistake that was entirely on the company's side. Mistakes happen. What customers remember is how a company responds when those mistakes occur. Based on our experience, Zinga's has fallen far short of the level of customer service that led us to choose them in the first place. I hope others don't make the same mistake we did in trusting Zingas.
