I have seen pictures of food from this place on Instagram for years and I've always wanted to come here. It was disappointing. I was on my way to New York and I saw this place was only a few minutes out of the way so I had to stop. There is very little parking. Also the place itself is very little. I think they change their menu often because I've seen pictures of food from here that they don't have on the menu. The service is very slow. I ordered the buffalo wings, cheese fries and xtreme cotton milkshake. The buffalo wings aren't even full wings they are wing pieces so it's like actually getting 3 wings. The 6pc wings are $8.50 which is way too expensive. I've been to restaurants where you can get 6 full size wings not pieces for $8. The wings didn't taste bad but they just tasted like regular buffalo wings, nothing special. Cheese fries were $5 and didn't taste bad but they don't give you a lot of fries and they are very skimpy on the cheese sauce. I also got an xtreme cotton milkshake. It was delicious and looked very good but if I would have known it was $16 I wouldn't have gotten it. It says it on the sign but I didn't see it until I was leaving. $16 for a milkshake in a small glass is ridiculous. I had been wanting to try this place for their milkshakes, and decided to get food as well. Took my son and niece with me. First of all..............even though the burger was good, it was not worth the price, $12 - $14 or more for a burger and fries, Really? And the cheese sauce was a just a cup of nacho cheese. Second.........it took them over 20 mins to cook the food, service was very slow. It does not take that long to cook a burger and fry some fries. Third............the milkshakes were nothing special. Regular milkshakes with some store bought cookies, cakes, and ice cream cookies. The bits that had in and on the cup had a freezer burn taste to it. My Son and I had the cookie tasty and my Niece had the Oreo blast. Also they charge you extra for the toppings. If you presented as if this is how it comes, why am I paying to that slice of store bought cake or store bought ice cream cookie? For all that, plus the taste of the milkshake, I could have done it myslef! We all thought it was a waste of time and my money. Smfh Totally not worth it at alllll! Wanted to try after seeing milkshake posts on Instagram. Fiancé and I walked in about 7pm on Saturday and were immediately told they were closed. The young lady started ranting all the things they were out of like rice and steak.... Ummm ok. We said we didn't want dinner and another girl said oh you want milkshakes!!! No problem. Have a seat. She was certainly more friendly. I had the cookie tastic and my fiancé had cookies & cream. The shakes looked much better than they actually were. Kinda watery but they tasted ok. Visiting Jenavies was on our to do list while being in NYC. We arrived at the establishment at 4:30pm only for them to tell us we had a 90 minute wait. We got back around 6:15pm and the table still wasn't available. We were finally seated at 6:30, I couldn't believe how small it was, and no one greeted us or took our order for about 15-20 minutes. When we started placing our order, they didn't have anything we asked for. When the food arrived, I was not impressed. Our food came out at different times, my sons meal was comped because she forgot to place the order. One set of the chicken wings were cold, they serve canned looking baby shrimp for the shrimp tacos, and no one told us there was a $2 up-charge for adding cake to the already $16 milkshakes. $192 later, that is a place I'll never visit again. read more

I went 11/03/2018 for my boyfriend's birthday with a party of 6. My boyfriend & I were late & they were very nice about allowing the rest of our party to wait at a table. Once we came & I called a waitress over we were able to order right away. My bf & I had the $50 big platter everything was great. I personally just found the chicken in the chicken tacos a little dry. We also had the bacon macaroni & cheese with the Oreo shake. I like that the shake wasn't overwhelming sweet. We didn't get a greeting at the door. Not one person said hello or hi. The place is pretty small. They sat me in a very uncomfortable spot by the cashier. So through out the whole time there someone was over my head, which was annoying. Our food came out one item at a time not all together. I had to ask for condiments like ketchup and syrup. Wow! Definitely not impressed with the service, very tiny establishment. The set up is not comfortable, there is no waiting area, the time frame to get the food is about an hour or better. I first learned about this restaurant on Instagram, & based on all of the reviews, this restaurant seemed like a "No Brainer".. However upon the entering the establishment, my perception immediately changed. The place is basically a counter with a milkshake machine, and seating for guest. After we were seated, we waited ten minutes before I had to call over a staff member. The gentleman at proceeded to tell me that even though he couldn't take my order, someone would be with us shortly. At that same moment in time, the server was on her cell phone having a conversation, which was obviously more of a priority than the patrons in the restaurant . All food was tasty as well as the overwhelming milkshakes (epic) the thing i disliked was the service, they took forever to come and take our order. Asked did we need any sauces , we said what we wanted and was never brought. we ordered iced tea but were brung half and halfs, ordered a refill and was never brought but was added to the bill. Oh got to the table and there were used napkins in the napkin holder. Asked for the menu for the shakes and were told there are none u have to look at the screen at the desk.....we were seated in a cramped corner booth with any view blocked by a wall so she wanted us to all get up in this lil place and all go over and look at the tv to order a shake smh ordered the shakes by going to yelp and was asked before the meal or after should they be brung? I went yesterday to celebrate my sons birthday, and when i walked in, the place is very dreary! The oerson working the counter on 2/13 @ 6pm was very unprofessional! She took aboyt 15 minutes to even attempt to come to our table. I asked a customer how was the food, they said nasty!! We walked out, it wasn't worth the stay! At first the restaurant doesn't look like much until you are greeted by the sweetest servers. They initiate conversation that makes you feel comfortable and that this is the right place for you. The food was great, I recommend getting tthe buffalo chicken wings and french fries. The sliders that come on the platter were not that great, it just wasn't doing it for my taste buds. The french fries, I can't stress this enough, we're amazing. The Shakes were really good when they finally arrived to my table because there were only 2 workers on the floor and it took long to receive my shake. I paid $16 for a shake that came in a cup that could of been charged as a $12 shakes but the taste made up for the price. My friends and I ordered the platter that had 4 burgers ( sliders) 10 piece wings and french fries and it was $45. It was a little on the pricey side but we split the food and the cost and it was worth it. Our money was well spent and we went home with a full stomach. Small space but well positioned. Staff is kind and attentive. Milkshakes were really great. For food, we had curly fries, chicken wings, pastelillos, & sliders to share between us. The wings were fried to perfection and super yummy. Other than that, the food was good but not great. I found this little spot on Instagram and the mouthwatering pictures definitely made me leave from Connecticut to the Bronx on a Monday afternoon! All I have to say is that the hype is real !!!! Everything was so fresh so flavorful I felt like each individual grain of rice was flavored. It was so delicious the staff was young lively and attentive. The place is very small intimate which makes for great service and attention I would recommend anyone to go here! We basically ordered a little bit of everything because we wanted to try all of the things that we saw on their social media page my brother got the steak and onions and I got porkchops we also got macaroni and cheese plane tans a Dominican Sliders rice and beans salad fried Plaintain's sweet Plaintain's. Everything was delicious even when we save some for the next day I would definitely recommend to anyone! The shakes look good, but not good enough for the price. A basic shake is $16. If you want the extra cookie or cake on top like in the pics, that's an extra $2 I was told. Opted to order regular food to go. Prices are a tad high all across the menu. Asked about delivery and was told they don't deliver but they are on uber eats. I indicated calling in an order for pickup and was told they won't take pickup orders on the weekends because they get too busy, but I could come in, order, and wait. The person who took my order was a young male. All the employees I saw (3 - 2 females, 1 male) couldn't have been more than 22yrs old(best guess). He took the order but didnt know how to process credit cards so another girl came to help. She had been making shakes and had on gloves. She took 1 off but the other got some sort of red jelly substance on my card. She didn't even notice. Paid $42 and waited 20 min for an order of garlic parmesan wings, bbq pulled pork sliders, cheeseburger sliders (sauce -mayo&ketchup- on the side), and curly fries with cheese. I stepped outside and one of the girls kindly bought the order to me. That was appreciated. I reach my destination (about 15 min away) and am ready to tear in. 1. Curly fries....no cheese on them or otherwise. Fries tasted good. 2. Cheeseburger sliders...no sauce on the side or otherwise. No big deal, I have mayo and ketchup. Took off the bun and the burger looked dry. Tomatoes and lettuce looked fresh. Took a bite and it was dryer than it looked! I couldn't bring myself to take another bite. Had my boyfriend try his to see if maybe it was just that one..nope. My dog was hoping for scraps but I couldn't bring myself to even give her those hockey pucks. 3. Bbq pulled pork..Eh. This cafe was a great little spot. I love the atmosphere and also the the workers were very friendly. The place is in a small area in the bronx and you wouldn't think it would be packed but its amazing service and food, how couldn't this be the spot to grab a bite. The food came at a decent time after ordering. My daughter had a good time. MILKSHAKES!!! Holy cow, they are great. The milkshakes is a meal itself. I loved the food. I wish to return again soon. So my husband and I ate here yesterday. We both had the yaroa, suggested by our waitress. Neither of us tried or even heard of it before and we are now in love with it. Omg so good! I hardly ever leave reviews but I have to recommend the yaroa to anyone who's never tried it. I got the bistec con maduros and my husband got the bistec with French fries. Both good (maduros&fries) but next time I'll get the fries because the crunch was so good! We also got the milkshake which is what they're known for a guess. Listen I'm not hating but it tastes like a regular milkshake. Good but nothing extraordinary. I'd save a few bucks on the shakes and just order some more yaroa. Also, the service was good.
