We took my mom in for her scheduled appointment, only to be kept waiting for 45 minutes. Delays happen, I understand that--but what unfolded during that time was completely unacceptable. We were first met with a very unfriendly and dismissive front desk staff. No warmth, no welcome--just attitude. While waiting, I stepped outside to grab a book from the car, and saw one of the assistants--who I had seen earlier at check-in--outside vaping what was clearly a weed pen. She had black and blonde hair, and the smell was unmistakable even from the door. Back inside, I noticed another assistant going through the patient charts, flipping around and not following any clear order. It made me wonder if we had been skipped altogether. The disorganization and lack of professionalism was glaring. Now, I will say--Amy, the young lady who worked us up, was the one bright spot in the entire visit. She was kind, attentive, and seemed to genuinely care. But unfortunately, that's where the positives end. Once we were taken to the room, we could clearly hear staff out in the hallway gossiping--talking badly about the doctors, the management, and even each other. At one point, someone commented that a team member was "missing again, probably outside smoking weed." If that wasn't concerning enough, most of the staff we saw were glued to their phones or chatting loudly instead of focusing on patient care. Dr. Krueger himself was great. But let me be clear: no doctor, no matter how skilled, can make up for a team that behaves like this. It doesn't feel like a place that values patients or takes pride in their work. It certainly doesn't feel family-oriented, which is what vulnerable patients--like my mother--need most. We've already started the process of transferring her care elsewhere. I genuinely feel bad for the doctors here, because it's the unprofessionalism and lack of basic decency from the staff that will drive patients away.

If you opt out of this, they do it anyways but will not give you your eyeglass prescription. Beware! They try to tell you that if your insurance doesn't pay for this you agree to pay the $50, it is evident that they are trying to charge something extra that is required and the insurance companies have gotten wise to this and are not paying these charges and neither should you. After both doctors retired and the practice was sold, I returned in July after moving back to Denver for an annual exam with a new doctor. While the clinical exam itself was fine, the administrative experience was not. After paying in full for my exam, I requested my eyeglass prescription so I could obtain reading glasses and was refused due to unexplained billing and insurance issues. I was then told I would need to schedule and pay for another appointment instead. Under federal rules, eyeglass prescriptions must be released after an exam regardless of insurance status. The inability to explain charges while withholding my own prescription felt administratively hostile and unnecessarily obstructive. Unfortunately, this is not the practice it once was. I've chosen to move my care elsewhere and would caution others to be aware of potential administrative barriers when requesting records or prescriptions

Specifically, Maria at the front desk was overheard speaking negatively about another patient who had just walked in for his appointment. She told her coworker that the man was "annoying" and that he was "always coming in just to bother them." After hearing this, the coworker immediately began treating the patient poorly without even asking why he was there or whether he had an appointment. She dismissed him and told him he would have to come back later, only to find out that he did in fact have a scheduled appointment. Watching a patient be judged and treated disrespectfully before staff even understood the situation was very concerning. Because of this experience, I do not feel comfortable bringing my parents back to this clinic.

I'm certainly not making another appointment (when you're already over a month out) for someone else. Why would I do that? Well, I won't, so I guess I'll move on. I knew my cost on the same day and booked surgery 3 weeks out. Dr T said he would not do the lower lid, since I would not benefit from that surgery. My insurance was approved and billed. Easy choice and I am happy with results. Dr F had an intern with him. He told me he could not make me young and beautiful again, and ran the back of his hand down her cheek. I asked about cost which seemed to be a big mystery. He said I did not qualify for insurance coverage. He said his biller would contact me in a few days to let me know about cost. The front desk was ready to book my surgery right away, but I said I need to know cost. I was then shuffled into his med spa and ended up buying his all- in -one face cream formula. After a week, I called the biller, and she said "Let me ask". $13K out of pocket.

Re: ICON EYE CARE Superb physicians; shockingly inadequate administrative staff…read more Prior to choosing ICON I had exams and interviewed a total of 4 cataract surgeons. I was immediately impressed with Dr Weiss. My reasons: His training, experience, demeanor, clarity of thought and his communication skills. He proved to be a superb surgeon and I'm thrilled with the results. Sadly, I came very close to cancelling this procedure based upon ICON's poor administration. For your consideration I am an attorney who ran an office that employed approximately 150 individuals. 50 were lawyers, the remainder were professional and semi professional staff. My conclusion: It appears that ICON's administrative staff in general, are poorly trained and inadequately paid. I suspect both are based upon ICON not putting sufficient resources into this aspect of their business. As a result there was a constant lack of of effective communication and a constant flow of misinformation, confusion and frustration. HOWEVER My surgical experience was excellent. Dr Weiss did a great job! Additionally, my post surgical visit with Martin Seamus and my contact with a "Scheduler" named Sara was also excellent.

Dr. Weiss performed cataract surgery on my right eye on January 13th, 2026. Unlike the previous…read moresurgery on my left eye the week before, I noticed the prep was sloppy and rushed. I could feel everything Dr. Weiss was doing to my eye. I moaned and moved around, but was told to stop moving, because the movement was shaking the microscope. It was a very painful experience. Dr. Weiss did not stop to have more anesthesia administered, but kept saying, "I am almost finished, almost finished". One of the receptionists at the surgery center told me that Dr. Weiss does 23 surgeries in one day. I suppose he was in a hurry to get to the next one. When I was being taken out of the prep area at the end of the process, I mentioned to the nurse that I was in pain, and she said, "Take Advil, you will forget about it". I believe that Dr. Weiss broke the vow he took when he became a doctor of "First, do no harm". SHAME ON HIM. I confronted Dr. Weiss on 4 other occasions concerning the pain I suffered and was told that this had never happened before. At one point, he seemed to have forgotten about the incident, saying, "What happened in the surgery?" As if to say he didn't know what I was talking about. Dr. Weiss insisted that I have my eyes refracted about 2 and 1//2 weeks after my last surgery. Eye surgeons whom I have consulted say one should wait a month for refraction. The prescription was incorrect. I went back to see Dr. Martin about redoing the refraction. Dr. Martin is the OD in the Golden office. No effort was made to redo the refraction. Instead, he made a big effort to make sure the door to the exam room was closed and to speak in hushed tones. He immediately started saying that Dr. Weiss had given me the wrong corrective lenses (IOL) and that was causing my vision problems. I was also told I had developed a second cataract. Both Dr. Weiss and Martin told me I could get different IOLs/and/or Lasik to correct my vision, adding on more medical bills. (Again, when I consulted different eye surgeons, the advice was to do neither.) Dr. Martin advised me to see Dr. Kim, a different doctor in the practice, rather than return to his colleague, Dr. Weiss. He continued to say that he didn't like the way Icon Eye Care was being run and seemed to have little confidence in Dr. Weiss or anyone else, except Dr. Kim. I asked him why he continued to work there. He said, "Because of people like you". One wonders how many people like me have surgery done by Dr. Weiss. This practice is exactly that. A practice (I think they need a lot more practice) done by people with, it would appear, no other motive than to do as many surgeries and to make as much money as possible, as quickly as possible, and to badmouth their fellow workers. Their regard for patients is minimal.
